Today we're taking a look at OPERATION: Kaldstrøm, the Two Player Starter Set for CODE ONE, the latest game offering in the Infinity Universe by Corvus Belli. Get a table, terrain, dice, rulers, tokens and templates as well as two 15pt Armies for the White Banner of Yu-Jing and the WINTERFOR of PanOceania in one box.
CODE ONE is a fast-play game with the DNA of Infinity but far less nested rules and a much snapper scenario and army building ruleset. Today we'll go through the basic core mechanics in Missions 1-3. Want to check out the full rules? You can see them HERE: downloads.corvusbelli.com/cod...

I'm glad they are making this game a bit easier. Jumping into infinity has proven difficult for me, and i love the style of this game. so I'm hoping this will make it easier for my simple mind.

What I always tell new players is learn YOUR army...you'll find out soon enough what the other guy can do. This cuts the rules/skills you need to know down by a massive margin. The game is actually really easy, it just has a ton a variety. You won't find the difference between armies is just a +1 to some stat...the game is MUCH deeper than that and thus requires a large data set to contain it all.

Dude! Thanks!! You were my first infinity battle report. I'm super excited for when my Kaldstrom box arrives. I also ordered JSA because they look amazing!! I can't wait to play with Batou and the major as substitute models for Kaldstrom characters. I'd love that monk too.

Liking the slimmed down rules for Code One and great video. I've been meaning to get into Infinity for some time now, awesome minis and great setting. I backed the Defiance kickstarter and went all in (inc. the reinforcements boxes) as a first step and now with Code One I can ease into the full game more. Great vid. Ash I watched your 3 mission tutorial on this boxed set and ordered it the next week have yet to assemble and paint but you helped me a lot learning rules as I have never played this mechanic many thanks!!! Love your vids will support in future for sure!!! Need to order the ninja!!!

This seems to be the exact boxset I've been looking for. Loved the idea of Infinity but knew I'd never get it to the table. This streamlined (easier) version looks just about right for me. And the minis this company puts out are amazing.

So far I have tried to get the kids into Imperial Assault to no avail; hopefully Infinity and/or Warcry will grab their imagination. Both games seem much more accessible for them than SW Imperial Assault.

Thanks for another great Let's Play, Ash. Looking forward to the next one and am definitely going to go download this version of the rules now. Feeling inspired to go and paint some my first Infinity figures now (glued together and undercoated for almost a year). Acid Burn was the name of Angelina Jollie in the movie hackers. She and Zero Cool were hacking each other at the beginning of the movie. Serial Killer was my favorite too!

Gimme that MonK! Actually liked the gameplay and loved the models. Liked the sublime way they added the symbols of the groups which on one reminds us of the Knights Templar. Corvelli and team always make it worthwhile the products they have and YOU sir keep with those videos you make. Stay Safe!

Gimme dat monk :) I have started up a rather large infinity colection but never really got a full game of N3 in. I think code 1 will be a great way to play as I am use to playing smaller model count games like Malifaux. Looking forward to being able to get some games in when the current health issues are a bit better. In the mean time I can learn and get some stuff painted for a change (though I am still working full time). As a fellow Canadian, stay safe and be careful of the return of the Canadian flying cobra chickens.

Im a bit late to watching but this video is quite helpful in trying to get into infinity. I wanted a change of aesthetic for painting from my usual Gothic Warhammer stuff and so Im getting into Infinity and this is a nice introduction. :)

Gimme that monk! Just starting to get into Infinity. Split the Operation: Coldfront, which I purchased a long time ago, with a friend to get us started. The terrain included with the Operation Kladstom looks amazing compared to what came in Coldfront. Will definitely have to pick up that terrain to use instead of the card stock boxes.

Nice "Let's Play" Ash. I'm a big fan of crunchy systems but standard Infinity was a bit much. I'm liking the look of Code One though, seems like a good starting point. And some sweet sweet Wandering Shaolin Monk action would be a great way to start my collection.

I'd love that monk! The base alone looks so amazing to paint. In terms of this game, I wonder if this is a good way to get more in to Infinity? I have had trouble getting started in the past and my "teachers" really steamrolled me, but this seems easy to wrap my head around!

That name, tho'! It's so weird, as a dane, to see "Ø" used outside of Denmark. One monk please! Honestly i expected more simplification of the rules, this seems to be just infinity with few noticeable differences. Maybe that’s because the games of infinity i’ve played have all been beginner focused. Definitely up for giving this a try still though!
