After what seems like a near century wait (it was really only about 5 years), the newest Make A Good Megaman Level (MAGMML for short) has been released! I've decided to get on this as soon as possible before I start getting spoiled on the entries. I'll be playing through the levels and reading the reviews along the way and giving some thoughts on each of the levels in the description. Feel free to follow along...
I get quite salty in this video. Not due to any levels mind, but because of the arena. I stand by what I said though, arenas should not have instant kill mechanics. It really sucks to have an entire run ruin because of them. Granted one was my fault, but I refuse to accept blame for the Mini-Boss arena.
Quints Met Factory - Not bad honestly, a little barren sure, but better than most of what we have seen already, likely the best in the tier too. The boss was especially fun. Though, the level creator does need to learn their rights and lefts. Fun little romp.
Ballade's Square of Doom - Doom is one of those overused words in titles that will usually indicate something bad, kind of like resurrection or revenge. There's nothing noteworthy about this one other than the jarring change in scenery. Speaking of jarring, that boss room, yeesh. Unrelated, I suck at fighting Ballade. So I'm sure I'll have to fight him several more times in this game.
Gravaqua2o - Maybe next time make a stage that is easier to say? Gravity and water can be two gimmicks that compliment themselves nicely, but this isn't the case here. Another ho-hum level, but something that struck me odd was that the Token was right next to the element. Why? There was a PERFECT spot in the level to put it, and instead it was just bolts.
Space Crusade - Ace was right to put this in tier 2. It was, okay, but it's carried by its references (Warhammer 40,000, which I don't know), kinda like Duwang from MAGMML 2, only with less jumpscares. I understand this was Ace's intention though and deliberately made the level like this. Also, I learned that amateur has a different meaning than I thought.
