What an absolutely majestic display of chaos and confusion. The typically stone cold Carley slowly melting into a puddle of stress and absurd metaphors, Holly unleashing her inner unhinged toddler/puppy, and Laurie, Sully, and Adam just exacerbating everyone else's bad behavior.
This was the greatest episode yet! Carley unravels, Adam gets annoyed, Holly being a child, Sully's laugh as always, and Laurie's facial expressions. Everything a BGC needs!
@@neekoj7549 I am not going to fuel speculation that may or may not be true. I don't actually know, I just can read events because I was a fan back then and have some general ideas, y'know? I'm just a random, I can't make claims about things
I love this channel so much guys. I can watch board games when I don’t have friends that like board games. It’s even better than Will Wheaton’s TableTop
I do still miss Table Top, though. It's too bad Geek and Sundry went to hell after Felicia Day was bought out of the company. It'd be cool to see Wil as a guest on NRB one day.
While I feel like Will was a great host and he brought a lot of personality to TableTop, what NRB has is a more consistent group, which they can work more off of each other and that translates to a more entertaining experience. I really liked TableTop as well.
Tabletop did a great job of introducing me to the genre and seeing celebrities show a more realistic side of themselves. That said, I like NRB more for the camaraderie and running jokes. And Sully.
Also, gotta say that Holly joining Board Game Club has been a breath of fresh air. The energy she brings is a combination of Rosie's chaotic energy and Sully's child-like energy, with just a small dash of Dom's evil energy.
Next week's episode brought to you by: Therapy! "I don't know why I feel like a cowboy" "I think I'm confusing babies and auctioneers" "you have no hope" Phrases like this and more all can be explored in: Therapy
I would guess the cowboy thing was an association between cowboys and saloon gambling, since they were doing the blind bets at that point... but since she never told us, we'll never know for sure 😂
@@TheColourfulSidetwitch 37:55 - Carly said "I don't think I wanna do that" and then Adam started singing Comedy from "I don't wanna do that." Sully joined, Holly started beating on the table and then Holly sang the wrong background vocal, making Carly, Adam and Sully laugh before play continued.
I like this game a lot, the artwork really makes its stand out beautifully. And really glad Carley made that swim across the Atlantic, her gaming dedication is an inspiration to us all.
The great thing about this channel is that the emphasis is not so much on the board games but on the fantastic chemistry of this group of friends playing board games, something which Wil Wheaton's TableTop didn't always get right
Absolutely loved this episode. Holly eating the gavel Carely doing her best John Gracey impression and unspooling faster than yarn tumbling down a flight of stairs. (Thanks Adam for that saying). Such great fun! My fiancée was confused with why I was laughing so hard.
Can’t wait for this to be the episode where Adam’s spirit is fully broken in preparation for monopoly Edit: didn’t anticipate this being the episode where Carley and Holly’s spirits were challenged instead but I’m certainly not complaining
Carley needs a hug. I too know the roller coaster of being a different person in different game genres, and being terrified of how people perceive you.
Sully acting like his gallery was flat broke when we all knew he was an expert arts dealer. I always like seeing Sully win its always and often a surprise to even him.
I remember the first time i found this channel. “Oh, their editing is so good and i like them all! I wonder how many subs this channel ha-“ You guys deserve millions of fans. Love you all! 💜
Welp, that does it. I now have my Top 5 NRB BGC moments of all time: - Tom’s Babbling Brooke - Telestrations - Olie’s one year revenge - BoTC - The Laugh - Something Fishy - Brooke’s “I’ve Never Seen It” - Xnimmt - Carley’s “You Have No Hope” - Modern Art
I'm still so impressed by the production value of these playthroughs The set, editing, lighting and pacing is so professional without feeling "too slick"

@@piperformerlycassette one of them was an all girls episode of BGC. The final game I do not remember as there has been so mant that they have done. (It's possible I messed up that part along the way as I sometimes had to catch up with the videos due to irl stuff)
@@ItalyOrigami If I recall correctly, fiasco was split into two videos on RU-vid so that might explain the numbers if you're counting the videos on RU-vid as their own games.
I don’t think I would enjoy playing with someone that always feels the need to say out loud every thought while playing. It’s clearly an attempt to get other players to play the way you want them to play, and some times it could come across as judgmental as well. This channel is great thought. Watching it every week!
I love your comments and sentiment but sadly its not true for BotC episodes, very often the comments are salty towards carly OR the people playing against her and it sucks, but that is just a loud minority
@@lynxerax7011 yeah I love the BoTC games but I've noticed the last few have been very toxic especially around Carley or Adam, which is a shame cause I adore them both. I have a sinking feeling the series will be cancelled after the live action episodes if the toxicity keeps up
@@AcornPlays Which sucks, but the crew deserve to do what they enjoy most. I just don't understand why some people cant wrap their heads around the fact it's just a game! They really don't need to point fingers or get angry/defend anyone. They know it's a game and enjoy it, and even if they were genuinely mad after a game, that's no sign for you to personally attack them in the comments
@@adrianheath3854 This episode was my first introduction to X and it was a difficult watch, tbh. In hindsight, recent (alleged) revelations may explain why.
When I put on an episode of Board Game Club, I expect a good time and a hearty laugh. But this episode has had me crying with laughter multiple times. I’m with Sully, this is my favourite episode so far, and that makes me feel like a cowboy.
I've never seen this before but it was the most hilarious long form content I've seen in years. Maintained my interest for almost 2 hours and was constantly entertaining the whole time. Not a single dull moment. Felt like I was joking with friends at a sleepover and we've all been awake for hours. I'm a huge fan now. Time to go watch the full backlog
@@missmalika2017 16:30 while he's playing it as a joke we've all seen enough of Sully to see that the way he's responding is different. He's clearly getting annoyed
The strategy of this game is SO easy to get wrong, this reminds me of my first play through with some friends honestly. Lots of little things but big tip: You don’t want to win your own auctions!!! Let’s say a painting could be worth at max 30 and someone bids 20. That’s an immediate profit of 20, but if you outbid you can get at most a profit of 9. Not only do you take on the risk, you ALSO would have had a greater relative lead to the entire table (including the winner) had you left it, even if the person who won the painting got the best possible scenario of 10 profit (you get 10 more than them!) Generally as auctioneer I only bid up to half the max possible value on a painting I’m selling, as anything past that would be a profit with no risk to myself if someone else wins.
I totally relate to Carly in this episode. I'm awful at auction games. There's always a feeling that you're getting taken advantage of or overspending.
Seriously one of the best episodes of BGC, my sides were aching from wheezing laughter. I was proud of Holly that last time with the gavel, Sully as ever with the japes, and the freaky Friday Carley just made this episode.
when Carley made that gesture, I instantly understood what she meant about feeling like a cowboy. shootin' from the hip regarding bids and all that, intuition and quick thinking
Carleys experience here is much more akin to my board gaming experiences. Visceral emotions. Feelings of hope, paranoia, failure, and betrayal. Great episode.
Well that was probably my favourite episode of BGC ever. If you could see your way clear to a) inviting Holly back as often as possible and b) playing more games in a post-live-BotC state of exhausted delirium I’d be really grateful.
As someone who's between jobs and can't afford to be a patron, I have to ask: do you know if those live BotC episodes are Patreon/Kickstarter exclusives, or will they be posted on RU-vid like the one was 6 months ago?
@@IceMetalPunk Yeah, but you only have an option to pay the bank on a turn that other people should be paying you. She's passing up having that swing swing in her favor.... To like what? You can't say she's preventing that money from going to someone else, because she should be getting all the money.
This episode is a brainworm. I liked it when I first watched it but I have come back time and time again when I need something in the background. This is probably the peak gasleak episode so far, this or 6 NIMMT
This is completely unrelated to the episode but does anyone remember in what video everyone started fake laughing and then it just turned into them actually laughing for minutes?
1:22:31 The face of someone who has realized the joke has gone on long enough. But realtalk, one of my favorite episodes of this series I've seen so far. Love this y'all!
Why is this game of all the games out there THIS chaotic? I LOVE it. Also 'no one stopped me' is REALLY not a good reason to do anything, no. But the bit with everyone banging that hammer as much as possible and Adam just losing it over that is amzing! What is it with Holly and that hammer too? That's so bad. I am also not quite sure what happened to Adam, but it wasn't a great game for him, ey? But it was so entertaining to watch!
Carley is such a shark in all other appearances! How the hell did you maniacs break her?! 100% agree with Laurie! What happened?! This is the most chaotic episode to date I think, and I still loved it!
How fun it is playing a board game directly relates to how much you enjoy the company. This seemed so enjoyable..some thoughts during this episode: Adam getting into (also being annoyed by the gavel bit, hilarious). 31:55 Haha, what is going on Carley?. How can someone be so cool and outclass everyone at Blood on the Clocktower (while decorating cakes), and still lose there mind in such a major way during a silly auction game. 38:27 Lots more fun moments in this episode, loved it :)
