I am going to miss this! Watching Johnny and Aoife play games together is what got me into this channel, and watching their let's play of Life Is Strange-or more accurately, the first half hour of the first episode-is what convinced me to finally give that series a chance (though I'm not sure if I should thank you two for all those tears and all that emotional devastation... ;D). And while I'm sad not to get the chance to see Johnny suffer through the horror that is Dark Souls II, I am looking forward to seeing what he brings us at his new home. Losing my weekly Johnny and Aoife hang time is going to legitimately be hard. That being said, Aoife, you're amazing and bright and I'm so proud of your promotion, and Johnny, you are a lovely and thoughtful person, and I'll follow your adventures as you go! Life may bring bittersweet change, but damn I'm so grateful that you two made my life so much brighter every week the past couple of years. ❤️❤️❤️

That moment of celebration at 3:23 gives me so much nostalgia it’s actually emotional. I was at uni, my friends and I discovered Peggle and everything was amazing. At the time we genuinely wondered whether Peggle was the best game ever made and part of me wonders whether it still is. This video is so good I have sent the link to friends from uni I haven’t spoken to in over 5 years. Johnny this was an inspired choice for you final late to the party. Thank you so much for everything you have done on this channel.

If you'll indulge a little mawkishness, on this, the day of Johnny's final Late to the Party. I was kind of late getting on the Eurogamer train. I only really picked up watching your videos last year during Johnny and Aoife's playthrough of the first Dark Souls game and that was only by accident. At the time I'd just lost my job due to a lot of bullshit and was feeling sorry for myself. The Dark Souls videos were great because of the chemistry between Aoife and Johnny. It was literally just watching two good mates playing a game together and it was food to my soul. But I couldn't binge-watch them because I hadn't finished Dark Souls yet myself. So my ritual was, instead of moping around all day, I'd watch some of the Dark Souls playthrough up until I reached a bit I hadn't played yet -- which would encourage me to get out of bed and play that bit of the game. It was like you were my spirit guides through the game. I'd inevitably get stuck, but since I was already out of bed, I'd go look for jobs and go for walks and do productive stuff afterwards which really helped get my mind in a better place. And there were so many other great videos to catch up on in the meantime, so I never got impatient. You guys were all such a huge positive influence in my life and I cannot thank you enough for it. A year later and I have an awesome job now, I've had some of my writing published, and watching Late to the Party Episodes and Let's Plays still bring me so much joy. Aoife and Ian are wonderful, but Johnny has been kind of the heart of the team. He always comes across as such a decent, genuine guy. It won't be the same without him for sure, but I look forward to both seeing what he does next and how the Eurogamer videos evolve without him. I'm sure they'll still be fantastic -- even with the Johnny shaped hole on the couch. Bon Voyage, Sea Dad. I'll raise a flagon to your continued success. All the best!

Now I understand the Peggle fever that was going around circa 2007/8. It feels like getting the bubonic plague in 2019, only good. Also a great idea for a piece of art would be Johnny riding a Unicorn (Bjorn) away from Aoife and Ian, while he wears a tricorn, a flannel shirt with a bit of straw poking out of his mouth, and wielding a cutlass.

If there isn't a 'Goodbye, Johnny' video featuring Chris and Bendix (and Carrie Fisher, maybe) as force ghosts, I will be sad.

So this was even more amazing to watch than I could have ever anticipated.

I have seldom agreed with another person as much as I agree with Aoife about 'addictive' vs 'addicting'. Though I now feel a strong need to play Peggle 2 once again.
