Good video. 1. You can replace the fences that were removed when you built the food buildings. 2. place walls along path to prevent queue from joining path. Much easier than removing paths. 3. change view to remove scenery to view areas hidden by trees and such. 4. You can charge much more for your rides. Charge until they say they not paying that much and then just lower .10
Flabs, we need more of these. I haven't been so hyped for a video series in ages, and here I am hyped for Planet Coaster videos, and RCT. Your love for these kinds of games really comes through, and I can't get enough. Seriously, please make more of these, and obviously more Planet Coaster.
I'm wanting to start a new park now because of this video. Don't forget, you can set prices for the concession vendors, so you can make a profit from them.
This makes me so happy! I absolutely love when you play the original Rollercoaster tycoon! I use to play this so much as a kid too and still do from time to time! You picked a good level this was always the hardest for me! I only every beat it once ... pretty sure by chance too haha. Please play more!!
I was 7 years old when this came out. It was my favourite thing to come home from school and play RCT! I even had a playlist of music I'd listen to while building coasters :P
Just wanted to say that there is a project going on that is making an OpenTTD version* of Rollercoaster Tycoon 2, it's called OpenRCT2. They've already introduced quite some useful tools and even multiplayer(!!!) *=optimisation of the old game by mostly using recent technologies, without totally changing (the purpose of) the game.
Too many memories, the nostalgia is real....I was so young and I played this game on my IBM Aptiva running Windows 98, time was so nice and slow back then, no worries of the world but just sitting and playing this game was the most excitement ever.
In RT1 you need to charge an entrance fee, it's really hard to make money if you don't. Your queuing systems are waay too long. If those rides actually filled up, your guests would be getting bored in the queue. Also you can charge 20p for the toilet and no one complains :p
I always do ride prices with no entrance fee and always make a ton of money :) I find that if they don't waste all their cash on the entrance fee they spend more in the park
I pretty much just subscribed because of your cities skylines series and then I see this. Definitely the right choice in subscribing! Rollercoaster Tycoon was my childhood as well and I occasionnally play it still.
Thanks for doing this video, Flab! It definitely brought back some childhood memories of me and my dad playing this game. Which is very had to come by with my memory. I was (and still am) a huge train freak and this video made me remember the very complex, but yet very compact train ride I built. I might have to go on Steam and look into buying this, if I can't find the DVD! You should definitely do more.
So much nostalgia from watching this video. It makes me want to play it again so badly (and I actually might since it's like $6 on steam). Totally would love to see more of this!
Man I LIVED this game! All of them, actually, but my love of RCT started with the first. The music especially makes me so nostalgic! 😍 Can't wait for more of this!
This video was very fun to watch, it remembers me of the 'good ol' times' :D I would love to see more RCT ^^ Maybe not every day, i think that would be to much, but like 2-3 Parts a week or so would be really cool. Keep up the great work! Greetings from Germany :)
2 Tips for you dude....Press Shift + Backspace to close all the open windows: stops you from having to manually click the little "x" on the windows... A good way of making sure your rides will be fixed pretty quickly is to hire 1 mechanic per ride and place their footpath marker at the exit of the ride you want them to fix. The way the fixing works is that the closest mechanic will be called to fix whichever ride is broken...Have them constantly walking in the area of the ride will ensure they get to it almost instantly. And yeah keep this series going. Love RCT !
Yes....Moar please! :D This was awesome! I honestly forgot how good this game was....I still have my most profitable park's save file on a FLOPPY DISK at my mom's house. (haha am I aging myself too much?) definitely gonna load this game up when I get home. Would love to see you play more of this!
I played a few levels of this today just for funsises, amazing how far we've come with Planet Coaster and with games in general, so many of my learned behaviours (rotation with middle mouse for example0 that didn't work in 1999, was an interesting experience.
When I play RCT2 instead of cutting the paths off, I divide the park into zones, and at the edge of each zone, I put double overhead signs over the paths facing each way and just switch them to "Do not enter" and use those as gates
I got this game at Christmas 1999 when I was in 5th grade. Can't even tell you how many hours I spent at the computer playing it and sometimes not knowing what I was even doing. The financial aspect of it was the hardest part. I sometimes took out a massive loan from the bank lol. Now I have it on Steam. :D
OMG, This brings back memories. reminds me of good ole windows 98SE. I love how you can pick out random people and name them then get update of their activities. :)
This is my child hood game!! I'm still young but it was the fucking best game!!! I can't imagine my life without it!!!! I am so happy you can still play it!!
Oh for goodness sake. I'm in the process of watching James' Sims 4 Super Sim Challenge and decided to watch a LP on this game since I loved it. I thought I recognised that voice. I'm being followeddddddd!!!
Hey James! Came over from your Sims Supply channel. I would watch an entire Lets Play series of you doing this! This game is also half my childhood. This and Sims, and a handful of Barbie games! lol 😇
The memories! I still remember playing this with my sister's help because I was too young to understand it myself. (Guess I was like 6 or 7 when I started playing this game).
I just reinstalled RCT2 on my laptop, surprised it still works. I started with RCT 1 in 1999, and had all the expansion packs at one time. I will be looking for all the RCT games now.
