Let's Play Translated Super Famicom Wars! 

Thanks for an enjoyable stream, as always! And I'm happy that you like our patch! ;) Just a couple of notes, since I know this game inside and out by now... - When you've conquered all the maps you unlock a final "boss map". They're pretty big and the opponent begins with a *massive* advantage. Yup, they feature predeployed units, and if I recall correctly, the AI start with a shit-ton of units and property while you get NONE of that. There's a different "boss map" for each opposing army, so four in total. - When you win a boss map you get to see a nice little ending animation and the staff roll. - You can change the animation settings whenever you please (those, sound output and your army's music are the only settings you can adjust after the initial setup). - EXP gained is based entirely on the unit type killed. Battleship, Train and Proto Tank give enough EXP to level up once (lv.0 -> lv.1 and lv.1 -> lv.2 that is, the last two levels require more points). Since you never kill off units that give any decent EXP with infantry you rarely manage to level up those. Another Triple Threat series would be amazing!

5:05 The AI in Days of Ruin actually does adhere to the rules of Fog of War. It's still funny how it took them that long to make it like that again.

Hi, Mangs. As a veteran player of Super Famicom Wars, if you conquer all 15 Maps, you'll unlock a special 16th Map which serves as the final battle of your Faction. When you start the 16th Map, you'll notice right away that the opposing army gets pre-deployed units which is the first sign that you're in for the hardest and longest battle yet. But if you manage to slog your way through the initial threat and completely destroy the enemy, which might take you more than 30-40 days to do, you'll be treated to a Military Parade as the ending for this game. All four factions get their own, unique 16th map and military parade which means there are four different endings to this game.

Roses are red, Billy is too strong? And the most OP Yamamoto Will become Sensei after not too long.

*_The time is now._* And check it out, there's a tiny bit of Quality of Life stuff worked out too - overviewing a unit and checking their damage count now displays damage higher than 99, for example. _It's so good._

Super Famicom Wars is back? My years long dream has come true. Deploy a mountain of units

There was once a man, a very greedy man who looked down on every body who made a dollar less than himself. He’d go back to his mansion everyday after his 1,000 dollar-an-hour job as the owner of a bank. Although his mansion was one of the finest homes in England it had a “slight” plumbing problem. You see when his bathtub drained all the used bath water would come overflowing out the toilet. Also somedays he would turn on the faucet and no water would come out ... but then a huge rush of rusty water would come out. He once turned the faucet off before the rush of “clean,” water but then his faucet exploded. No matter how bad it was though the local plumber could always fix it but not permanently. Of course the greedy man always said snide comments about the plumber like,”Only people who wore barrels as clothing in their childhood would take such a bad job as plumber,”or, “Your so poor compare to me that you almost cry whenever you come to my house.” Even though plumbers may make good money now they didn’t when this story took place. Even though the plumber suffered through the greedy man’s comments one day when he was fixing the drainage problem in the bathtub something really set him off,”My rich parents bought this house when I was two, they put so much money in my bank account that even if all the gross, fat, stupid plumbers like you worked twenty-four-seven for three hundred sixty five days a year for an eon they still wouldn’t have as much money as me when I was two! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!” The plumber was finished but he said, “All right I'm sick of your comments you’ll deal with your plumbing problems yourself!!” as the plumber stormed out the house the greedy man collapsed of laughter. A month later the greedy man retired his job. He decided he didn’t want to be charged interest so he built a huge vault for all his money in his home. The next month he went to his faucet to get a drink of water, he turned on the faucet and no water came out. Then his faucet exploded and boiling hot rusty water came gushing out and damaged his first dollar ever made. “NO!!!!!!!!,” he screamed he then took shelter in his bathroom. However he forgot that he took a bath last night. Then his toilet lid slightly opened soapy bath water came out, but then came the real shock a huge burst of water came out of the toilet but not just any water. No raw sewage from the local sewer came gushing out. The greedy man climbed out the window and ran to the plumber and described his situation but the plumber said, “I told you two months ago I'm done with you.” By the time he found another plumber it had already stopped on its own and the sewage found it’s way to his vault. Although the vault lock was made by the best lock maker in the world it was not water tight, when they opened the vault all the money was destroyed by sewage. Since the greedy man was to cheap to buy insurance for his home and his money he had to start all the way over to repair his home and replace his destroyed money. The bank wouldn’t rehire him so he had to start making clothing and since there was no minimum wage back then he only got payed two dollars an hour, and if the greedy man was a bit more respectful to the local plumber and the plumber went over to his house he may have saved his money. So there are two lessons here, one buy insurance, two never make fun of someone who may have a bad job in your mind, you may just need them someday. The End.

I actually just started getting into this franchise, I'm so glad I did it's so much fun!

The Days of Ruin/Dark Conflict AI doesn't cheat, and whilst it doesn't tell you how different units will do against others it does tell you what units will easily kill yours.

Pretty awesome that this is translated right? A real Christmas present if I ever saw one. There are some connections between SFW and Advance Wars: Caroline is Nell's sister I believe (Nell's real name is Catherine) and also Sensei's Japanese name is Yamamoto, which I believe it refers to the guy you're playing against. Anyway, I sure hope you make a series or mini series of SFW now that is playable in English and with such high quality too.

Now this is a fantastic way for this game to make a return to the channel! I'm thinking EXP gain is just based off the funds damage you do. Damaging expensive units gives more EXP, which is probably why infantry take forever to level up. They can't do much damage to expensive units.

I'd love to see more Super Famicom/Advance Wars in this channel. Believe it or not, AW was the reason I found this channel, and even though now I stay for FE content, seeing these games again in the channel would be awesome.

Was amusing to see this in your older playlists. I'll admit I would love there to be a combination mod/expansion for advance wars integrating the famicom wars stuff. The vehical changes, particularly the boats and apc's would be fun to have in a more modern advance wars thing.

Actually, you could say the Proto Tank is supposed to be the Neotank. Cuz in the untranslated version if you capture a lab it says "New type tank get!" So I could assume the Proto tank is the Neotank.

I saw this patch for the first time and was wondering what the Flak gun was and wanted to hear your opinion/quick intro on the differences from the later AW games and I was surprised to find that you actually did make such a video! I was going through your Advance Wars playlist and this wasn't there. I realize this isn't "Advance" but as an AW fan I'm definitely interested in this too.

Mangs coming out of nowhere with that Wars content again!!! I'd watch the heck out of any new content you put out for this new patch. Whether that be a new Triple Threat or anything else. But hey, I'd watch you design a map in AW2 for 2 hours if you had a video like that (Actually, aside from the two hours part, that would be quite interesting to watch, with all your experience in this game)!

I would say AW Days of Ruins is the closest we got to the Super Famicom Wars mechanic.

towards the ends of these games you tend to get sloppy if you're to sure to win. seems like you don't concentrate that much anymore 🤔 but besides that, it was great to see the origin of advance wars, there are a lot of great functions i'd love to see in todays games 🤯 and in general i like watching your videos, thanks for showing famicom wars, maybe i have to buy a SNES again 😄

It makes sense that Mr.Yamamoto is the most overpowered since Yamamoto was a genius wwII General. If you take a look at some documentaries on the Japanese side of the pacific war, it is quite interesting to see how genius he was.

Listen up, Mangs. The AI in Advance Wars doesn't cheat Fog Of War. Fire Emblem is a different story, where the enemy AI couldn't care less about it, but in AW they respect it as much as you do.
