I'm so glad I found this. I really struggle with RPGs due to the role-playing aspect. I'm always worried I'll be judged and looked down upon. But I can see that here there are no judgements or concerns...it's just people telling a story. So glad I backed this and cannot wait to start a campaign on it.
Really happy to see coverage of Wanderhome!! It's a really beautiful game, I'd highly reccomend Sleepaway by the same people. It's a similar system about camp counsellors defending their camp from a spooky monster.
So, I actually thought of two characters to play for Wanderhome: 1) Female Jacob Sheep Poet, she's very sleepy, falls asleep at random times because she ruined her sleep cycle, travels the world to inscribe the varied cultures of Hæth. 2) Male Cat, sociable and joyful, he did some things he regrets in his original home, became a traveler so that he could atone.

You got me curious, and I found this: Frogs have long legs, longer than their head and body, which are made for hopping. Toads, on the other hand, have much shorter legs and prefer to crawl around rather than hop. Frogs have smooth, somewhat slimy skin. Toads have dry, warty skin.
@@adorneddonkey09thecryoborn35 That's an informal definition. I mean how are you going to say where toad begins and frog ends....what level of moisture makes a toad and what makes a frog. Short and long legs are relative. Think about tree frogs who mostly crawl along branches. In the eyes of science they are of a kind. Even their apparent differences in procreation is insubstantial....I mean how do you define a creature that places its eggs under its own skin?.....a totally different species?

@@revo1verrock I’m trained as a herpetologist. All toads are frogs (anurans), but not all frogs are toads. Toad is a common name for frogs that tend to have dry skin, rather than moist skin. There are a couple of lineages of frogs referred to as toads. The most commonly thought of as toads are the true toads (bufonoids), though there are bufonoids that have moist skin. In Europe the common toad Bufo bufo, and NA, the American toad Anaxyrus (formerly Bufo) americanus are examples of what many people would think of when they think of a toad. I hope that doesn’t muddy the discussion.
Could somebody help me with one question I have? I'm having trouble figuring out how tokens work. I'm used to games coming with physical tokens or what have you, and I'm not clear of how you keep track and what you "get" for accruing tokens.
If you're playing in person you'll usually use anything you can use as a counter, online you can just keep track of the number you have, they exist to give a sort of rythym to the role play, by making your character do weak moves, incite drama, or just describe the world you'll get tokens, which can be spent to do "strong moves" which can move the story forward, solve someone's problems or be a good chance for character development, this is generally how belonging outside belonging games work
