A little late, but you can use Ivara's Prowl ability, and "steal" the cores while they're "alive", then kill the spirit with the operator and get a 2nd core. Not sure if you knew that.

in 2024 Eidolon hunting groups are a dime a dozen if need the better cores to rank up, im always finding decent groups just on public, in 2024 Warframe community has expanded and getting lot more spotlight.

You can kill the vomvalists health with your warframe weapons. Only their ghost form requires your operator amp.

The wiki says : the quest can be initiated from the Cetus vendor Nakak once the players have achieved the Observer (second rank) with The Quills, and has talked to her with the "Mask?" prompt. Also make sure you have completed the Second Dream quest
