It is great trolling because the song is talking about the never-ending loop of empty striving to "something new", "better" (novo, bolje), faster, bigger, greater, more innovative..., being enchanted or enslaved by running after increasingly improved performance, optimization and maximization of everything and everyone, constantly evaluated against stricter metrics. "Novo, bolje" in the title really means "innovative and improved" (referring to a product), like a new Iphone version or a politician's promise, so it's quite badass when she comes with the exact same performance (in the history of Eurovision) not giving a shit and even saves time and money. At the same time, she is probably trolling everyone who had expectations that she "must" come up with something better and improved this time for the Eurovision contest, another step up from her last year's performance, or otherwise be considered a failure, so she's symbolically giving them "better" and "new". In one verse she sings about "constantly going up, up, up", never-ending improvement of products or self-improvement, nothing is ever good, or good enough. "Evo saće" is an informal way of saying "It's so close, I can feel it" but it's usually used in an ironic way, for something that never really arrives. I tried to convey the meaning because there's lots of slang and subtle references and symbolism in the lyrics, most of which is lost in direct translations.

I love that she kept same staging. In a way she is trolling herslef. One great moment is when they put their hands as if they will clap (as in In Corpore Sano) and then they just don't 😂😂😂... she is legendary

I died laughing when I saw on screen "Niti novo, niti bolje" (Neither new nor better), cuz the title of the song is "Novo, bolje"(New, better) which seem like she promised us in the title something new and even better and she gave us almost the same performance like 2022. She is genius.

"Nether new, nor better", said Mother Mary Konstrakta while making Bread Jesus. Bread symbolizes hope for something new, but new and better will never come cause the bread will never be baked. So much layered messaging in what looks like a "same" performance as 2022, and even that has a reason. Also shout out to the Latvian girl thats part of Konstraktas group now, I believe Alise also did her own rendition of Konstraktas song "Mekano" over at their Zemlja gruva channel.

Konstrakta's song is called "New, Better". In the lyrics she says "doctor, I don't know what is wrong with me, I always want new, better." Then she is doing thevariation of her performance. The performance is a mockery to what she is singing about. We repeat ourselves always eventhough we crave for new.

Novo, bolje = new, better. So, we always search for something new and better, but everything is the same, loop. And like this performance, nothing is actually new and better, and because of that this prrformance is REALLY BETTER!

True, it's similar to the last time. And that's the goal: "New Better" (novo, bolje) - it's a criticism of the Serbian criminal government, which for years has been buying elections and promising new and better, faster, stronger - that's their catchphrase(novo bolje brže više jače)... and it's always the same: the same criminals in power, the same problems; especially in healthcare! "Doctor, what's wrong with me!" "Doktoreeee" is a literal description of what women went through in a Serbian hospital: pregnant women were left in pain and labor in the corridor, they wailed and called the doctor, but the doctors, appointed by the party with purchased diplomas, ignored those women whose newborns died.

Her staging is actually very good taking into account the lyrics of the song. Her message is about how politicians always promise new and better things, but they're just empty words and things stay the same. 👏🏼

The screen says 'Episode 2: Neither new nor better". At the end she screams: 'Here it comes! Dooooctooor!" It sounds like she is giving birth to a baby (she really looks pregnant at the beginning) and the baby (shiny bread, i.e. her art) looks like just baby Jesus. People on stage are wearing napkins (kitchen cloths) now instead of towels, and waiting to consume her art saying: 'Not good enough!' She also mocked most of the audience that had been waiting for something NEW and BETTER. You should have seen her hugging a huuuuge loaf of bread (her art) on stage.

there is a lot of layers in the song, but one of the obvious ones is the title (and the flashing text). Novo, bolje (new, better), nista novo, nista bolje (noting new, nothing better). so it is kinda a good troll on top of everything else.

This is like a continuation of the song "In Corpore Sano," criticizing the high-profit capitalist construct where there's always an expectation to "step up your game," to be constantly innovative and come up with something new, as if what already exists isn't enough! (This is reflected in the lyrics "neprestano samo idem UP, samo idemo na MAX” meaning: “constantly just going up, just going to the MAX") but in reality, it's all already seen and turned in a million ways. She is going to say that with this song and with this performance.

I was always of the opinion that this is better than In Corpore Sano. It’s sad this probably won’t win, because it’s easily my top 1 in this selection (and would debut straight in my top 5 Eurovision entries this year if it wins)

The whole song talks about our need for something new and different, and the performance is a way of trolling this concept, where consumerism is making us wanting for more and better.

Just like in the world of politicians, no matter the country, New, Better, a lot of promises but in the end everything remains the same, hence the choice to keep the performance as similar to in corpore sano as possible. She's cooking and we're not gonna stop her!
