this show has a special spot in my heart. i'd never watched SATC before but i stumbled upon this one and i remember just loving it so much for what it was. it felt like the shows i adored from years before, like unfabulous and zoey 101 but actually better? idk how it'd hold up today if i went back and tried to watch it again, but i remember being so fond of it back then.
Yes that was me until my rewatch for this video. I remember really enjoying it growing up but during my rewatch I found it kinda boring. season 1 better than season two tho
I watched the show while it was airing and loved Anna Sophia Robb as the lead. At the time I hadn't watched sex and the city so really it felt like a show with its own story line
I watched this show as a 13/14 year old and then watched the sex and the city show years later and read the book at some point…the backstory in the Carrie diaries book and show are even different from each other and then it’s totally different from the original show… the book is a lot better than the show but I only read the first one, but it’s almost all spent in her small town with her friends as opposed to being about her doing stuff in new york

this show reminds me of 8th grade and this was my first “teen show” I watched openly to my family. never knew it was a SATC spin off/prequel. makes sense why my mom would watch it with me time to time.
I liked it when it came out when I was 13 and I hadn’t seen sex in the city and it’s still cute but SUCH a lost opportunity. it would have been better as a stand alone with a Carrie inspired main character. the comparison sets it up for failure:/
Ngl I think it lowkey was like even though i watched this first before watching sex in the city, this carrie didn't feel like that carrie if you get what I mean so i was able to separate it. It is a shame because i feel like it had potential and never got a chance to reach it to it fullest
What’s so funny is I remember this show being pushed to me so hard as a teen but my mom didn’t watch the SATC when I was around so I had no idea it was supposed to be connected. I’m obsessed with the og show now as an adult so I can’t wait for a deep dive into the prequel I never watched 😂

I liked the show i remember i would watch when i was in college. It was a cute teen show honestly it hits sweet spot for me. Nostalgia of those years. I feel like they could have redeemed themselves with a third season. The music was spot on too❤
As a kid watching this show i remember relating to Doris a lot. My dad got terminally ill when i was still in middle school and it made me retreat so much into my own world too. My dad was my best friend and the only person who made me feel safe. I became so mean and reclusive, even now as an adult I like being alone. I always felt sad for her because its hard feeling so lonely and unloved so young. Still love this show and i feel like they couldve done a lot with it if they tried to do their own thing.

Loved this show even though it wasn’t the best. Only thing I did not like upon rewatches is how they treated Sebastian’s affairs with older women. The case of him and his teacher was presented as HIS fault?? And in the second season, it was the older woman that pursued HIM!! Really poor way to portray predatory relationships.

This is one of my favorite shows lmao. It is pretty average, but I really love Anna Sophia Robb. The fashion is also so solid tbh. So many outfits made no sense and looked so good. I also have no real connection to Sex and the City, I never watched it so I see it as a completely separate entity, which is cool lol

Ive watched this, it was really generic, without anything similar to SATC (even if they wanted to do a teen targeted show, it isnt nothing close to the original) Like Carrie often says she never had a present father...and the cw show goes and makes Carrie raised by a widowed father kkkkkk
Thinking on it, I find it weird they made a TEEN basic cable show based on an ADULT premium cable show. When this came out, I was a young adult and the 1st movie had a special place in my heart, but I only had seen SATC on E! so cut to sheet😅. So I was use to the tame versions and had no connect to the original. After seeing the original, this is not connected outside of 2 character's names.
Let's see where this character goes, but SATC Carrie is unhinged enough to have lived through the CW series and made up something more interesting when she moved to NYC 🤷🏾♀
I'm with you in liking the show, but I feel like if they are going to use a world that was already built, they should use that. This would have been fun as a standalone show , though I know Hollywood has an issue with original IP.
I watched this show like a year ago and I enjoyed it, but it's the first time I heard that it's even connected to the sex in the city which I haven't seen, so that's probably why.
