To be honest and with complete disclosure, their entire discography is diamonds in the rough. Absolute gold mine that frankly came out of no where. They are worth a deep dive. I understand that is a large time comittment but feel free to do it at your own pace. Enjoy the journey and I would be surprised if you don't go for the deep dive after listening to their latest album. One tip is to leave Euclid for last because of the many call backs musically and lyrically in it. It is the culmination of their trilogy of albums. Do it justice I beg you! Enjoy!
Completely agree. Individually so many of their songs are special, but as a total from all three albums, it really holds a special place. I really would love to see a total album reaction for this one. "Euclid" holds the most special place for me, and I crave others reactions of it.
Watching people fall in love with Sleep Token in real time is my favorite thing to do on youtube these days ^^ I'm glad you are listening in order, because there is an overarching story (that actually spans all three albums!) Vessel's writing is spectacular and really takes you on a journey. Be prepared to feel all the emotions, you are in for an absolute treat.
Great reaction. Subscribed for more Sleep Token. Chokehold is the opening track so you might like to react to the rest in order. Looking forward to your reactions.
You have no idea the ride you're about to take my friend. Ascensionism is still my favorite but there are like eight songs on this album that place high and they're all in the right place storytelling wise.
Don't want to spoil too much for the two upcoming reactions, but let's just say I've had them on HEAVY rotation any time I have had a chance to listen to music this week... Thanks for watching!
They're next level, like actually really next level as in nobody's doing quite what they do. There's another band though that just released a song that's absolutely solid. October Ends - Damaged. Would love to see your reaction on this one.
Not the first person to recommend that, will definitely check it out. I'm away for work for the next few weeks, but you can expect to see that once I'm back ;)
Down the rabbit hole we go ! Their discography back to their EPs and Singles up to Sundowning & This Place Will Become Your Tomb to Take Me Back To Eden
@@akaalexanderking honestly brother you really would not regret going further back and starting from their ep one and two. Two in particular is amazing. Or maybe just start from their first full album “sundowning” (masterpiece) then after reviewing there albums go back and do the eps. There are songs in take me back to Eden that really benefit from having listened to the full trilogy. Particular the final track Euclid.
@andrewj3398 that sounds like a very interesting journey indeed, love when bands connect not only the songs in s record, but also different pieces in their catalogue. After listening to the last record, in getting addicted to them big time ahahaha
I do not understand this mass gravitation towards these guys… maybe my ears are broken… but they sound awful to me. Like that South Park episode type of bad.
I’m more into some heavier stuff. LoG, Slaughter to Prevail, Chelsea Grin etc. But I like lighter stuff too. Just can’t get into Sleep Token at all. I don’t get it!! Haha!! Not that it’s a problem!! I don’t have to listen to them. But the way my brain works… I need to understand how so many people are getting into these guys. It doesn’t make any sense to me!!
@Josh-qw6nh I get you man, and if anything I much prefer someone that actually tries to listen and understands it's not for him, than someone who chimes in without any clue just for the sake of it. Love Chelsea Grin by the way, so good!
Can anybody explain me in simple words: why theres so many hype about them? yes - their songs are written with the greatest attention to every detail in vocals and instrumental parts. yes - the sound production is perfect. yes - the promotion campaign and their charachters done well... and its so lifeless and fake. I hear no soul in their music. I hear purpose. clear purpose to make a profitable project. I honestly tried to listen second album... its boring from random listener perspective, its monotonous, it feels like you listen one damn long song. there are no genuine emotions in vocals. there were some moments where I could hardly catch some hint on those things but failed. I'm not hating or criticizing I'm just trying to understand... I like tool, bad omens, love&death, karnivool, and other different stuff so I can not say that this is not my type of music, and still I don't get all the noise around this band.
Hey man, can't speak for the second record as I still haven't listened to it, but from listening to their last many times over the last few days, I can only tell you why it appeals on many levels to me. I think any musician would appreciate how difficult it is to blend genres like that: I try to blend acoustic, industrial rock and techno elements in my own music, and even a mix much "safer" like that is still very tricky to balance. For the emotions involved, I guess at the end of the day it's a subjective experience, but overall, to me it was the opposite of monotonous: it kept me guessing from start to end about where it was going to go!
