Let's Speedrun Sonic and the Black Knight 

Villagers: Sonic, our entire kingdom is being overrun by demons, thousands are dead! Sonic: *I missed the part where that was my problem*

I'm really curious what a professional Speedrunner can do with a game like Skylanders I mean the entire series is built on moving toys onto a base to transfer them into the game so maybe since it's a unique gimmick it could be something worth Speedrunning

Sonic and the black knigh is for me one of the best stories of the sonic franchise, it's deep but not to the point of edgy, and having other enemies beside eggman is always really refreshing

Man, I remember playing this game to DEATH as a kid! Ironically, even though I knew that timing the Soul Surge hits was better against the final boss, I somehow didn’t try that against Arthur

It’s been over a decade since this game came out and it is still the last good sonic story. If only Sega grew the courage to make games with their heart, meaning and take risks again

i remember when i was little i would play this game fully in like 40 minutes whenever im bored. It never got old. played it an uncountable amount of times. Such a great game.

When I was a kid I absolutely loved this game. This singlehandedly got me interested in the legend of King Arthur. Now I really need to replay this lol. Thank you Speezy for unlocking childhood memories

I remember playing this with my brother when we were kids, god i love this game.

Thank you for bringing these memories back. I remember struggling as a kid for ages then as a 14 year old getting to the final boss and then giving up. Now i can see the ending finally 2 years after i put my wii in the attic.

I want a sequel. I still don’t know what the collectible/ relic things are. I also figured out that you can change your character and that changed so much for me mainly cause I died so much as Shadow and listening to him going “I have faaaaaiiiiilllled!!” Is the greatest. Never unlocked Silver, Jet, or Arthur for the arena; I still don’t know how!!

I've never clicked a video so quickly I swear. black knight was my first sonic game and to this day is still easily my favorite game in the whole series ^^ would be AWESOME to see you do more sonic speedruns in the future! they're super fun and interesting for me to watch personally since it combines 2 of my favorite things, sonic and speedrunning.

I remember this game, and look back fondly. I believe I actually beat the game in around 2 hours when I had nothing to do, so 8 year old me was cracked(for an 8 year old)

I love this game, so aesthetically pleasant! It brings so much memory, I never managed to complete the objects collection - or unlock all the swords either. I'd love to replay that game, I just became so rusty. The final battle is really a fun level, but I remember not liking the second Arthur battle because I didn't understand what to do at first, just running after him for what felt like hours

One of my favorite childhood games and still one of my favs in general

I love how Caliburn basically says that sonic sucks at being a knight when he basically chased off King Arthur (and also beat a dragon by the time Caliburn was even reached). Some really high expectations if you can hold your own against a dragon and someone considered the best of the best and STILL suck.

If Sonic gotta go fast, would that make all the speed runs of the games...canon? *the lore needs to be revealed to the masses*

This was a pretty cool and funny speedrun. I was thinking of speed running this game, as it would be the 1st game I have ever tried to speedrun. Also, you can do a combo swing if you press back and swing and swing again.

This game is a masterpiece, and Titanic Plain was my absolute favourite back then for its vastness and prettiness and those big vehicles the giants hauled and the henge-y stones and the stairs, ah, so pretty, and Molten Mine was my most troublesome, quite hard for me. And now, I look back very fondly on Molten Mine and Deep Woods, and Misty Lake. I also really like that extra level in Misty Lake where you have to learn how to kick, it took me ages to learn that. Also I love Lancelot Returns, and how you can level your Lancelot up to shoot darts and do chaos blast, ah, this was proper cool.

I really love the sonic franchise, if you couldn't tell, and I only recently picked up the Wii games. This is one of my personal favorites in the series. I watched your Shadow the Hedgehog speedrun when it came out and I cannot express how much joy it brings me to see you play the sonic games time and time again. (I am also a bit jealous that you are somehow managing to get better ranks than me by just speeding through enemies LOL)

My childhood. I remember being stuck on the final King Arthur fight for over a year, but I couldn't keep going because my Nunchucks wore out from age. Fast forward a few years later, I'm going to my Grandma's house and realize she had a Wii over there, so I brought Sonic over. I was much better at gaming by then, so I kinda just beat the game all the way up to Arthur in about 2 hours, and beat him after 20 minutes because I learned his attacks were just a pattern... I still consider it one of my greatest gaming achievements.

as an average speedrunner for this game (i play it too much) it was fun seeing you speedrun this game cause it's brought a lot of nostalgia as a kid and its a very fun and short game to speedrun

Nice to see some love for the game. A few things though: I'm pretty sure playing as sonic, when you get to a breath of the wild wall, if you go at it with an Aerial Rave, you will go slightly higher from digging your sword into the wall. Not sure if it saves time, but oh well. Plus, during the second Arthur fight, I don't know if you have to restart the battle for it to work, but I know myself that if you spam jump when the fight starts, you can get on Arthur's horse immediately before they even attack. I swear I've done that fight in about six seconds in game time. I looked it up on RU-vid to see if I was crazy, and there is a run that uses soul surge after dashing. I'm not sure you even have to use that if you mash air dash fast enough. And, after the first eight perfect hits, the last hit to kill them doesn't need to be perfect to one-cycle them. However many perfect hits you did to kill them, if you waggle the wiimote after the second to last hit, a regular attack is enough to kill them. It's been years, but I've replayed that boss fight a CRAPTON. Legitimately how I think Sonic bosses should be made. Intimidating, but if you know what you're doing, can end the fight almost instantly. Lastly, I don't think you need all perfect hits in the final boss to speed things up. The timing to get the three perfect hits is crazy difficult. I've only done it once by accident so I know it exists, but I know that just going for two perfect hits and letting the timing for the third one pass, I was still able to have her skip into her third phase. I'm sure you know most of this and just didn't use it, I just don't think I'll ever see another run where you didn't use possible tech I not only knew existed but have done myself.

I got game this for my 7th or 8th birthday and it was my favorite game for so long but I completely forgot about it until I saw this video. I still remember the final battle being nearly impossible and the blaze fight was my favorite

Ah Sonic and the Black Knight, I remember renting this game and finishing it in one day. I have nostalgia seeing that game being speedrunning and continue to speedrun our childhood eazyspeezy. Also if I get it, this speedrun consist to make sonic a true knight the fastest we can. I'm surprise there's no Knight% category.

Oh man, I loved this game back in the day! Music is GREAT, combat is pretty original, though the controls are a bit stiff, story is pretty touching and the replayability is quite high
