Honestly I respect how this game actually takes in one of the lesser known details of King Arthur's legend. Mainly how King Arthur drew Caliburn from the stone, and later received Excalibur after Caliburn was broken. Most forms of media nowadays just say Excalibur was the Sword in the Stone.

This game probably has one of the best iterations of sonic. He’s energetic and cocky as always but is still very mature especially during the ending. Much better than just spouting out puns like he does now

I like how golden knight is basically super sonic but, also I loved how the music went with him while his armor was covering him.

I remember I played this game a long time ago when I was younger, and the fight against Blaze took me like an hour.

I feel like everyone is like going through a phase, except for Sonic.

A) This game is EXTREMELY underrated B) We need a third storybook game C) You have my respect for beating Lancelot Returns without taking damage

This Sonic game really deserves more credit especially with the message it gives. Sure we all want things to last forever but that is not how life works. It's a sad reality we all have to face but thats why it's very important to enjoy the time we have while it lasts. Our time may be brief here, hell Earth may not be forever but all that matters is the time we have and how we spend it

It's a shame that Akinori Nishiyama had such a short run as the head of Sonic Team during the late 2000s. Both this game and Unleashed were really unique and had lots of personality and production values.

I love this game, they focus a lot on the plot and the development of the characters that few sonic games do, apart from it has an innovative gameplay, that when you play it more, It no longer gets bad, and well the music What's a masterwork

The opening cutscene of this game perfectly sets the theme. Edgy and serious end-of-the-world shit, and Sonic just comes in not caring about the gravity of the situation.

I really appreciate Sega and the sonic team for trying new things. It's cool...refreshing and interesting

Interesting detail: the only time Sonic has a lead in to the fight(a little animation at the start of the battle) is at the final boss, and he's coming in from the right. It's usually the villain that enters from the right, and Sonic did say that doesn't mind playing the villain in this game. Pretty interesting when you think about it.

I want to take a moment to appreciate how Merlina was one of the few female villains, and the final boss at that.

Alot of talk about how underrated this game is (which it is), but not nearly enough talk about how underrated Merlina is as a character. Outside of Mephiles, genuinely the best written villain in the series. Her motivations, humanity, and the overall substance of her character is all perfectly portrayed, so effective that Sonic wouldn't call her the villain and saw himself as being just as wrong as she was. I really miss when Sonic Team had unique (if at times polarizing, bizarre, or just outright ludicrous) ideas. Because nowadays we're stuck with Zavok as a recurring antagonist, and even for all the sins of this fandom, we don't deserve that...

Man, I wish Sega added more entries into the Story book series. Imagine a game that takes place during the time of Greek/Roman gods and goddesses!

I loved this game so much as a kid. All character designs are top-knotch, the characterization feels so deep and thoughtfully-crafted, and the final transformation sequence is so awesome!

We need this type of storytelling back. I really hope Frontiers has a good story. In the meantime, I'll be enjoying some other franchises.

12:30 I watch him defeat King Arthur as my PTSD of struggling for about 5 hours trying to beat him only to fail. Moreover it was a rent so I never got to end the game. This was the only time I hated being a first born child; I had no older brother to turn to (I was 9 or 10)

Brings back the good memories... *sigh* I remember I thought I had finished the game and the plot twist when the girl was actually the villain and King Arthur was just a creation.
