Thanks very much, Mechanistry, for supporting the channel and sponsoring this video! I don't think Mechanistry generously sponsored these videos. I think they coldly and calculatingly subsidized one of their most effective, if unintentional, advertisers. I ended up buying the game because of this channel, and it's extremely unlikely I would have done so without this channel, even though this channel isn't the only source of beaver videos that I watch, be they on YT, Twitch, or ... other sites that have beaver videos whose names would probably get this message censored.
I have a request. Please sprinkle lanterns around as you build so the beavers can see when walking home after work. Would look nice to see decorations around, once you have the spare materials.
→ 32:50 I think you need a second farmhouse - your two farmers can't harvest that much area. - 38:20 Done. → 37:37 "There's planks in here" - Did you forget again that you need a storage to pick up the rubble? → 42:42 The tree blocking your path finally frew up and is being felled. Quick, put a path here before it's replanted. - 45:17 too late. → 47:08 Your kohlrabi can't be fully harvested as the storage in the farm houses is full. Get them a warehouse. (You can still prioritize the cassava for planting and harvesting, but having the kohlrabi in storage instead of unharvested on the field is a good backup.) - 1:00:00 Done. → You can put a rooftop terrace on top of one of your warehouses - costs only a single staircase to get up (i.e. 4 planks and a log).
A bit behind (fun weekend dealing with after hurricane shit), so just getting started with this series. One thing I would love to see you do is combine water and power into your eventual architecture. Not just because it was relevant for me recently (again, Hurricane), but also because building paths over your power lines that are also filled with water to allow for the whole map to be green and for easy hookup into a power grid where every building is just an easy upward power shaft away from being in the network.
First time viewer, I'm so happy youtube suggested this! It's incredibly relieving to watch someone skilled play this game for a change. My only previous experience is with a certain excitable engineer and, while entertaining, he never really explored into endgame or... planned well lol. I can't wait to see where this goes, and hope to learn a lot in the process!
Congrats on the sponsorship! I'm looking forward to this series to see what you get up to! I confess I was yelling at the screen a bit because I wanted you to plant waaay more trees. I foresee a dearth of wood in your near future. I'm watching these late, so hopefully that has all been resolved by now. :)
Really happy you are being recognised for all your hard work you have put into this game and getting the sponsorship, good luck with it ! Also please don't forget to connect the lower path by the stairs 😉
It's so exciting to have a new series 😄 Congrats on the sponsorship! 🥳 I have been wanting to buy myself Timberborn for a while now, so the sponsorship may just be the push to do so. I also really liked the new Beard Booster screens at the end! Right on 👍
Please do pick up the game, you'll have an absolute blast! (And if you do it through my referral link in the description, it lets the devs know that I'm the one who sent you there 😎)
Hey there, I'm new here. I think it's really cool to see a someone with a relatively small subscriber count get a sponsorship! You are very well spoken and detailed in your explanations.
I hadn't adjusted the working hours is all. But given how often people comment about my working hours being too long when I have them set at 18, maybe it would be nice to try and have shorter hours for a bit and see if the beavers are happier that way?
Somehow, I managed to forget Update 6 was dropping this week. Sponsored! WOOT!! Hitting the big time now buddy. I always like to have a treadmill installed in the early game. you call it the "wheel of shame", but I call it the "wheel of great help", as it stops production being completely halted during a drought. It's not super-critical, but it's a bit of peace of mind.
The name "shaming wheel" is a niche meme in the Timberborn fan community. The term was coined by one of the least competent but still popular Timberborn players on RU-vid.
It would a huge improvement if you could have the ability to dial down warehouse capacity so you could build a 180-unit storage and set it as low as 30 if you didn't want to max out production right away.
That would be great. Much earlier in the game's Early Access journey, storage had a similar setup to what you're describing here and it was nice to be able to select specific amounts to be stored. They ended up changing it to the current system of one item per building, and while I do this this way is better, it would be nice to at least have the ability to put a temporary cap on the capacity 👍
U6 Timberborn, finally! I was kinda disappointed to see this video tho, speaks a lot about how much I anticipate the Water Beavers playthrough lol. You had us spoilt with the 4 days a week schedule haha. Will you be doing 3 days a week U6, 2 days water beavers and 2 days RCT? I feel that this schedule would be nice. Edit: Also, congrats on the dev sponsorship, the devs have recognised a core content creator of Timberborn.
Once we finish our five episode run here, I'll ask you guys what you'd like to see. But the schedule you outlined is probably the likely outcome unless people really want something else.
That's on the list of things to hopefully do before the first badtide, but we're going to have to do a lot of other stuff first in order to make that happen
In Iron Teeth, farmhouses need to be built as duplicates. Since there are only two people they are slower than the other faction. You will set one farmhouse for planting with two beavers, the other for harvesting with one beaver. I believe this set up will be much efficient.
Man I remember when the bad water update came out and I thought I was never going to be successful in not unaliving my poor beavers. But now I've got a hang of what's happening. Still need more practice, but now we've got more cool stuff! This game is great for just relaxing.
I was skeptical at first, too, but I've grown to like it a lot. It adds a nice challenge and some additional production trees without being a complete death sentence (on normal difficulty, at least)
Not to backseat, but I was wondering if you know that hitting F on your keyboard flips the orientation of the buildings, sometimes this really helps fitting a building into the perfect spot.
Something you said early on gave me a flashback to that time i set the wet season duration to the absolute minimum permitted time. Aaaa! XD Also..."Its not the end if the world if you take a little long" so long as youre using sane settings like hard or easy and not custom utter insanity, at least. I was successful, as it so happens. My notes on build order are probably still out there somewhere.
I get the planting pines first, but once they are planted you should be planting oaks, been watching you for years and you have people sitting around a lot when they could be doing things for you. Also try getting some haulers ASAP, see how it changes things fast. I changed how I played and it makes a big difference, especially in hard mode as the workers can then work rather than waste so much time moving materials around
It's so awesome to see someone who knows how to play the game. Of course, no one is perfect but I'm glad I found your video because I can relax when watching it and my head won't explode from all the mistakes on screen that a creator is making. I also want to ask why you use the job priority system because earlygame it's fine to micromanage each workstation idndividually. I don't use 3x speed nearly as much so maybe it's too much? I know that it isn't a problem until about 150 beavers, but I never had more since endgame isn't that interesting for me.
@@JCTheBeard yeah it definitely isn’t the first time I’ve been fooled by the font in one of your videos. I do love the font tho, it’s just that one number. (Also it feels great to have a creator actually respond, love watching your vids. Keep up the good work!)
So long as our friends at Mechanistry keep updating the game, we'll keep playing 😎 (and then long after they're done, probably, if we're being honest with ourselves)
