What you say maybe true ,but did he really play us, we felt for his charm ,looks, his enter act with. Olivia, maybe we sure have known what he was up to .as far as Mellie is concern she got what she wanted The First. Lady.
This was absolutely my favorite scene of the entire episode. I started crying when Olivia said "there is no Vermont" because I knew it would hurt Fitz to hear her say that. But Olivia had to make him understand the truth about the world they live in but she also had to reassure him that what they have is not about Vermont, houses, babies and jam, it's about the two of them and what they have together and nothing else matters because they have each other. Incredible acting from KW and TG! Give the both of them a freaking Emmy :)

I swear I felt a punch to the gut when she said "like there's no Vermont" Ouch......the look n Fitz eyes, the lump he swallowed , the Geary look in his eyes, the like let me turn away from her, omg I was so emotional. Then she pulls him back in and explains, he is still hurt, unsure, but she seals it with a look into his eyes, a loving kiss to the lips, a muttered I love you, with the next peck, then she goes all the way, making him return the kiss with the passion and love he has for her.. He realizes then she is standing with him. Then the sun shines through the oval window. They're standing in the sun.......TeamOlitz to the end.
Well said.. I thought I saw that 'I love you' but I wasn't sure..it was so subtle but oh so sincere. Tony is such a brilliant actor! That lump in this throat..whew..takes a lot of emotion to pull that off in a scene. Perhaps he is just as invested in Vermont as we the fans are...The story is so beautiful it sucks you in. I LOVE that the writers are staying true to this and finally not forcing that love/Jake triangle on a love so pure. They will fight and have issues but at the end, their love remains. When Fitz looks @ Olivia, the love he has for her just fills his eyes, TG is one good actor! The chemistry between these two is truly amazing to watch.
I think the part when she says "this is not how I want it to be" is more than Liv talking. The ending of this scene reminds me of Tony and Kerry. He's keeping his eyes open almost as if he's trying to figure out if it's Liv or Kerry talking

If you don't have hope what the hell do you have? I am not going to give up on Fitz and Olivia being together. They have an endless love! She showed that to Jake when she probably slept with him but back in Fitz arms. I ain't mad at her. As fine as Fitz is I couldn't stay out of his arms either!

I love this part of the episode because was after she had spent the night with jake just to see if she had love for him instead of fitz but she realized she only loves one man and that is fitz and it will always be fitz they are in this together no matter what is any one does at the in of the day they are strong in their love for each other and is powerful against what evil comes next they better be end game or heads are going to roll they are the only reason most people watch this show shonda

I wasn't sure why I found this particular scene more fwd moving as stop pretending abt Vermont and Jams. vs Olitz ' s fr last week rumbked bed and arguing afterward (like married cable ) Because basically they're back to "stolen moments" hiding their love. I think when Olivia prevented Fitz fr retrieving and how she held him by the head. She's chosen to have the in the 'stolen moment' being happy vs having a pretend bf pretend sex and in the public light but miserable lol. It felt like Olivia choosing to stand with Fitz in sunlight streaming thru that window. Hope they continue to tell each other truth.
I understand what Liv was saying to Fitz; but as a viewer whose primary reason for watching this show is the Olitz relationship, I can't help but feel a loss. These 2 characters, individually and together, have had their dark moments. Neither of them is all good or all bad. Fitz's behavior towards Liv after he found out about Defiance, his coldness towards Mellie on those rare occasions that it was totally unwarranted, and his killing Verna are just a few examples of his dark side. But at his core he always aspired to be a good person, was idealistic, optimistic, romantic, etc. As for Liv, she has helped to fix an election, and been a part of all kinds of unethical shenanigans in her business as a fixer. But at her core she was always trying to do what she thought was right and she never felt comfortable doing wrong even when she accepted that it had to be done. This is the same woman that felt so guilty and got so depressed about Defiance that she was about to blow the lid off the whole thing even if it meant going to jail. Now she's so jaded that she marches into Fitz's office and dares him to expect an apology from her for asking him to throw the debate? Maybe that's what they wanted to portray, how jaded Liv's become? Also, why didn't she explain to Fitz that she had nothing to do with Cyrus & Mellie's plan nor the cover-up of the murder? The way she spoke made it sound like she knew about it for some time, when in fact, she just found out about it and only got involved when she found out that Sally was going to confess at the debate. I know that politics is a real dirty business, but the level of dirty they went to with Defiance and what Cyrus and Mellie did to Sally is totally unacceptable and did not have to happen. Fitz said he wanted heads to roll and she tells him to grow up? Really? I love Fitz but there are some times when he acts like a big baby; this, however, was not one of them. As for Vermont, l understand that she wants to live in the moment, but you can do that without crushing your dreams. I never saw them as pretending when they would talk about Vermont; I saw them as talking about their future. Fitz is an optimist and a dreamer at heart but he puts works behind his dreams. When he sets his mind to something, he does everything he can to make it happen (at least that's what he's done with her). The man bought land and had a house built for them in preparation for their life together. Pretending? I don't think so. There's nothing wrong with living in the present but also having hope for the future. I was hoping the house in Vermont would be a place they could go, when possible, to distress and recharge until they are able to start their life there; but I guess that won't happen since according to Liv, "there is no Vermont". Having said all that, I don't think this is the end of Olitz. I just think maybe their relationship is going to become more grounded in reality. That's a good thing but there's also nothing wrong with dreaming.
I loved last night episode. They came to a truce to b real and jus love one another. These 2 r definitely n love. She definitely chose fitz over Jake. Liv chose to team up with her boo, fitz over Cyrus, James, David and Jake. Fitz thru the debate he was winning cuz his livvy asked him to, that's love. The sun set on the horizon of their kiss. No one can take down the Republic and that means Fitz and anyone n his Administration, so that's the reason for the shooting. All roads will lead to Fitz. #Team Olitz
I just love love, like even when it's wrong, (like with Olivia and Fitz to a certain degree) if its love idc I think it's adorable. It's kind of weird I've only had flings, for how much emotional and romantic I am.

This is out of character for Liv. She actually mumbles "i love you" at around 1.57. The only time besides this she told him she loves him is when they went to view the original constitution. THIS IS BIGG!!!! She actually muttered the three magic words!
I don't think I heard her say I Love You in this scene. Actually I'm sure I did not; Olivia only said that once before, as you said, was long ago during the Constitution scene.
i don't think this is a break up... i think its just saying we need to live for now cause Olivia's at a point where everything is collapsing for her so she needs something now rather than hoping for something in the future that she isn't sure will happen she can have something for now.
I agree that it is not a breakup, but rather a break through. Her father has promised to kill Fitz and told her to start mourning. I think she is unsure of Fitz' future in light of her father's remarks and she wants them to embrace what they have and enjoy each and every moment, every day they have together. The future is fleeting. Live every day like it is your last. Live carelessly outside of time and space.
By them showing that outside view, we'll find out later that someone was recording them. Liv did have a point they need to live in the present to much is going on. Even though she was firm but it was a tender moment on her part. I love you but no more smoking mirrors.
