I appreciate your honesty. A lot of other guys really think their way is the only way or the best way. I like the way you seek others perspective and test it for yourself
I hate that I missed it but I was in San Antonio celebrating a grandsons birthday. Priorities. I'm an hour into the video and I've really enjoyed it so far.
I was in for a bit. Had another storm roll through and lost power right there towards the end. Figured I'd come back now that power is back and leave a comment for that extra dose of video interaction! Do what I can to help push through the RU-vid suppression. Have a great weekend, Erik.
@joeydigrado382 Appreciate that Joey! Seems the worse has passed. Power stayed on the last 40 mins, should be sage now. Random southwest Oklahoma storms get wild, lol. Last 2 nights been exciting 🤣 Thanks for the good thoughts! Have yourself a great weekend!!
@@ChadKelly7 no problem man, sounds like it has been really exciting XD. Good luck battling through it and you have a great weekends as well, thank you.
Sorry I missed the live stream; I really enjoy your work & can't wait to install your V2 tuner break on my Bergara Premier HMR Pro 6.5 Creedmore. It shoots really tight for a production rifle. FREE
I've had very bad experience with CLR. I thought I'd try it on a blued barrel because I would be able to keep it in the inside of the barrel. Leaked out pressure hole, didn't notice it until the next day where all the finish was gone on the outside of my gun. Then I looked in the inside of my gun and apparently I didn't get it all out in the inside and it either caused rust for crystalized over night to the point JB paste couldn't remove it. It was AWFUL. Wipe-out/ Patch-out is a great product. I just finished trying Bore-tech CU for first time and I'm very impressed my 26" barrel 338 was 99% clean after 27 straight patches, no waiting, no brushing. Each patch came out very stained. It also says to leave some in the barrel for protection!
thank you alot eric found your channel recently and have been diving in for the last week or so. i do have a question. what if any are positives/negative to stainless vs carbon barrels in performance besides the obvious oxidation weahter resistance.
Eric, have u ever had bolt thrust from left over lube. I use about the same process. I have a proof barrel i was working up a load for and was getting heavy bolt lift at a very low charge. I was very confused so i contacted proof. He was also confused but asked me to either clean my brass after lubing or clean it off with alcohol after i finished loading. That solved my issue. Also i was wiping off my brass before but i guess the smooth chamber couldnt take any at all.
@ErikCortina Can you say what u changed? Either wiping the brass better or not making the chamber so smooth? Now that I wipe the brass off with alcohol, I haven't had it sense.
Kelbly sent an email out to all of their customers saying "dont use CLR, you'll void your warranty" in short. I'm sure CLR on aluminum actions is terrible.
Man it’s mind blowing how much these top f class guys know. They take shooting to a whole new level. They literally dissect, test and improve every single little thing they use. It’s truly unbelievable how much they have learned over the years.
So hand cleaning the resizing wax off of every piece of brass after resizing is “not cleaning your brass”! Huh? WTF? Thats called denial! It would be much easier, less manpower, to just wet tumble the entire bulk of the brass after resizing! And much more efficient!😊
@@ErikCortina it’s more efficient because I don’t have to wipe off every case by hand! That’s a huge PITA! I throw all of them into a wet tumbler at once and walk away for 2-3 hours! Come back and they’re clean! Really clean, like new! And I didn’t have to do each one individually by hand! Takes me 5 minutes to load 300 pieces of brass into the wet tumbler and set it up. 10 minutes to flush and separate the brass from the pins. Done! 15 minutes of my time and I’ve cleaned 300 piece of brass! So how long would it take you to hand wipe 300 cases? Forever! 😎
“Walk away for 2-3 hours” I don’t see how wasting 2-3 hours is efficient. 🤷♂️ I’ll finish loading my ammo and be at the range before your brass is even dry. 😁
“Wasting 2-3 hours”? LOL! 🤡 I’m off doing other things while I let the tumbler clean the brass for me. Multitasking! You’re stuck sitting there for a hour and a half wiping each piece down by hand! That’s crazy! It’s more efficient because I’m getting a machine to do the work for me! Obviously we have different ideas of what efficiency is. For me it’s letting the machine do the work, I want to put the least amount of man hours into it. You want the fastest turn around. I couldn’t care less about turn around, I want to spend the least amount of “my time” reloading.
