Having owned a bunch of guitars at this point, I wanted to go over what I feel like the differences are as you move up in price.

Dig the video bro! I used to be in the "get what you pay for" camp until i got my Schecter c-1 Hellraiser for ~$400. To this day I've never played a better sounding or easier playing guitar. It is easily a better instrument than my buddys $3000 Gibson. Now if someone comes to me for advice on what guitar to get I recommend they go to a store and play every guitar that looks cool to them. You really never know what you might find.

100%, it's all about what feels best, specs can always be adjusted down the line.

My friend likes my Ibanez Jet King 1 more than his Les Paul Studio. I do as well lol

Great breakdown and I agree with your points here. I found the 500-1200 price point is really great. Especially with stuff like the new PRS SE CE Satin, that thing is 499! Once you learn how to look at guitars you can also go for used market. Those $2k guitars can be bought for $1k used in great condition. A cheaper guitar may need some work like the frets you mentioned etc. but that can be alleviated by taking to a good luthier and getting it setup, maybe add another $100-200 though for that service.

I've been buying and playing guitars for 45 years now, am 55 years old. I think your $600 -- $1200 'sweet spot' is right on. Until this point, I've never spent more than $1000 on any guitar I've owned, with the vast majority being between 500--750, and only on a very few have I felt the need to upgrade tuners, pickups, etc. Only with this latest surge in inflation have the prices gone up to where the guitars I want now are closer to the $1000 and up range. Sure, I'd love a custom shop Fender, Gibson, and PRS, but I'm just a blue--collar dude and that extra expense just isn't justifiable to me. Maybe if I was making a living with my guitars...

Absolutely. Even with my Kiesels, I often find myself at a store with a $400-500 axe feeling like I don't need anymore.

The prices are weird because you have to be really concerned about why it’s in that price bracket. The precise features it has is not always what justifies that price. The country it’s made in, doesn’t necessarily guarantee a certain quality level. Sometimes it’s expensive because it has a specialized paint job or it’s a “signature” model that looks a certain way or has an inlay on the fretboard, but it might have the features of a guitar from a lower price bracket. It’s just good to understand precisely what you’re paying for.

The trick is, to remain broke enough forever to NEVER experience playing a mid-higher price point guitar. That way, you've got no basis of comparison to let you know that the garbage you're playing isn't that bad.

I just got a bolt on Les Paul special for $100 and the neck feels as good as my $900 Schecter V-1 custom

Im happy with anything a tad more expensive than that squier strat lol. My ibanez jet king and squier tele thinline master series HH have treated me well and cost only 100usd used each. Yeah I i can see the imperfections but theyre good enough for me

Hello! Your videos are blurry even tho it's rendered at 1440p, it's a bit strange and frustrating because we can't see all the details of your guitars, your background...

I remember buying an LP triple pick up black beauty for $450.00 in a St. Paul pawn shop. Bought many AWESOME guitars but only one has ALWAYS remained. My awesome bone stock Charvel model 6. If you can get one, do it! I have two. They are BOTH rock solid neck thru staying in tune machines. One is a tad better than the other but I chalk it up to familiarity. I bought the first one new. I’m terrified at the prospect of being without my guitar, so I bought an identical back up.
