Nice one Daz, I have been running a mk1 version ozone unit for 4 years or so and found that the koi heal any knocks much quicker without having to net and treat. Also fins heal in days if they get a split. I ve also never had any water quality problems. It keeps air diffuser clean and is really good at dealing with tannings. I'd rate it more effective than weekly virkon treatments with extra benefits. I do believe the newer mk2 version is more efficient. Be good to see more reviews on people using them
The video i did last week shows the product simon is talking about. Seems in this hobby we are little scared of using OZONE , very ready to chuck in treatment after treatment. £30 every 6 months for something capable of destroying bad bacteria seems a no brainer to me. Worth doing some research on its use with salmon farming. The right dose is key.
i got a 30w UV ozone. Got i on my old indoor pond. forgot about it when i took it downe 😅 just mounted it on my new pond today because of this video! great info about to run it on a timer an let it reset and til buld replacement 🤔 what is the maximum watervolume they treat, and what airflow is recommended airflow thru it? :-)
Hi Daz. i've just ordered one from you . thanks. im assuming these have to be stored in a dry place and that when the timer is off for the hour interval the air still goes to my bottom drain?
Yes the air still runs through obviously your plug will have to remain dry but they are designed for wet areas like filter houses but with all things the dryer they are the better
Nice one Daz. Yeah I also watched Dave at Orchard Koi’s video on these. I am defo considering one but just need to look at how i would set it up. As currently my air pump runs my fluid bed filter from 3 of the 4 taps, with the last tap being to the bottom drain. Obviously I don’t really want the filter going off for hour at a time etc. altho, probably wouldn’t hurt too much. 🤔
Orchard koi the other day did a reveal and explanation with Ozone and I’ve been using the same product from Eco Filtration for nearly 6 months and which in a few weeks it needs the main body changing which is only cost £60 as you’ve stated Skeggy £50 per bottle for certain products it’s a no brainer specially as I used to use Ozone when doing marining which connected to the protein Skimmer
Eco are the wholesales of them exactly the same units I can get all the spares too It's the control unit and cell that need replacing not usually the main body but I'll check with Sam
Well they say they cope with very large ponds If you read what I've put on the website it's very batum the info they give .. when people talk of very large ponds they are usually talkk g in excess of 5000 gallons
Have just spoken to the manufacturer they will deal with much larger ponds than that the factor is time the bigger the pond the longer it takes to catch up as it were but once its got over the initial catch up it copes really well
