i hate when people are like “yeah i have reallllly dark humor” and then start being racist sexist and homophobic. then they be like “u can’t take a joke” like no your just being racist sexist and homophobic 😹😹.
Princess Pinhead In some cases it’s a joke and most people can tell. But flat out just being racist/sexist/homophobic without it being a joke at all and then just saying “it’s a joke” isn’t cool
I hate that whenever someone even suggests something is racist or anything, it turns into this whole thing about how it’s “just a joke” and “y’all are too sensitive” Like sorry that we are sick and tired of racism and colorism. I’m bored of y’all
Forreal! And their little stans will hide behind that "iT wAs A jOkE" or "tHeY'vE gRoWn!1!" excuse whenever people bring it up. Just cause your fav doesn't make content like that anymore doesn't mean that they're not racist anymore.
Black Men on the internet: Makes fun of black women just to say they like white girls. Black Women: Hey can you maybe not do that Black Men and everybody else: My PrEfErEnCe ThO
@The0nly_K ! Right it's a mess! I rarely see other race of men do their women like black men do. No one else seems to have to justify their interracial relationship except for black men. And a lot of times the women they get with have the same colorist ideas. Just a mess
Teodora Cicic to a certain extent it’s fine, but if they go too far it’s patronizing and stops being supportive. Like if they pull out “I have many black friends and they would all agree it’s disrespectful....my black boyfriend and I have had conversations about...etc”. Being a concerned person versus trying to justify your point through the people amongst your in a circle are two different things. I will accept the support as long as they don’t start patronizing.
Same happened when nessa danced to the Quran witch is our religious book and people are accepting her apology and they are not even muslims it is funny how people accept an apology that doesn’t not mean anything to them
What I also hate is when a white person literally shows basic human respect for a black person and suddenly they’re ‘king’ or ‘queen’ like no? That should just be simple human behavior?
But why are we surprised?? The black girl who invented “eyebrows on fleek” got no credit while within the same year the “damn Daniel” kids got invited to Ellen and received a year supplies of vans ☺️
@Zoe Witt yeah no. Literally look up fleek and her video pops up. She was the first one to say it and the people that stole it got it from her. Point blank.
Big Mac productions To be fair a ton of black people use it even though it's historically a racial slur.(I'm black, so I can say this) So why aren't we saying the same thing to black folks when we use it? When we use that onto each other, especially in the mainstream, it's bound to get trendy and people are gonna think it's okay to use. You can't prohibit something that's practically used universally to refer to almost anybody currently and not expect people to use it. I'm not saying it's okay to say it but if you want society to take you seriously then the black community should start taking what we say and do seriously because other races look at that shit and judge us for it more harshly than others. You can't antagonize someone who uses an oppressive word and think it's okay when you use it.
Unfamiliar Intimacy0070 Actually let me interject here (as a black woman from a red state). Media loves to push the “ignorant black person who gains fame”. There are plenty of black people who don’t use the word and act traditionally “mild-mannered” but media would rather push the “ghetto” or “gangbanger” personality. We talk about this a lot when it comes to awards as well. Like what the f*ck is an “urban award”? It’s short for ghetto or just like Tyler The Creator (who submitted an album that was far from rap yet won said award/same with Lizzo) said “it’s a politically correct version of the n-word”. There’s a reason you don’t see media pushing rappers and artists who aren’t from that “down-and-out black kid makes it rich”. It’s because it isn’t profitable for them. So I don’t think the artists are to blame, the media that refuses to recognize the nuances in black people (or any minority for that matter) are.
Unfamiliar Intimacy0070 hi black women from Louisiana in new Orleans one of the top 10 dangerous states in the world. Why the literal FUCK. Would we hold ourselves accountable for something that had been pasted down to us. As a black man. For u to sit here and be like “y r we not held accountable” cause we r not the ppl at fault ppl should know when going into social media saying the N word is bad. People should know not to use RACIST SLURS AGAINST ANOTHER RACE. We have nothing to be responsible for. WE KNOW R ORIGIN WE KNOW WHERE THAT WORD CAME FROM AND WE BUILT IT INTO SOMETHING ELSE so don’t ur disgraceful ass sit up here and make the excuse for y white ppl do what they do THEY DID IT CAUSE THEY WANT TO. We ain’t having that bullshit here delete ur fucking comment. Cause ur pitiful.
Honeyyyy I know as for me and my house when we see the foolishness starting we go straight to the kitchen, grab the coconut oil and rub it all over our skin while waiting for black twitter to do the dragging
Whenever people come at me with the “why can’t I say the n-word” I always respond with “what are you losing?”. Like seriously what are you losing from not using ONE word? I’ve never heard a reply that’s convinced me to this day.
They lose what power they thought they'd get over black people, it's just them wanting to be sadistic just to feel better about their sad skinny lives.
famous ticktockers/ influencers that get famous for no reason other than being pretty and get millions of likes trying to look pretty. *cough cough* Addison Rae *cough cough* Charlie D’amelio
It's crazy how people older than me claim that they should be forgiven for using racial slurs due to their age. Age has absolutely nothing to do with it. You're not "17 and learning", you're 17 and racist.
Exactly, they always say “there young and growing or maturing” THEIR WHAT 16 17 at that age you’re more than capable of knowing that the n word is disgusting and shouldn’t be used by white people. I don’t want to here it no excuse!
Ikr. I hate when people use their age as an excuse in general tho. These people make the age of teens sound like they have the nativity of a 6 year old grade schooler. Even at 13, you know what you’re doing most of the time before doing an action.
My 9 year old cousin has a tiktok, man. She’s the most brilliant, artistic, beautiful little dark skinned baby-weeb on the _planet_ and she shouldn’t EVER have to be exposed to this.
Right ❤❤ at this point I'm angry at what I'VE seen but it's also about protecting our little sisters and cousins and neighbors. This is disgusting and needs to stop. Love to your cousin 💞
KawaiiMaple this just made me text my little sister 🥺 it’s so twisted and dark sided that our brilliant black girls have to grow up being literally brainwashed. I thought MY childhood exposed me to some bad misogynoir but holy shit this is sick in the digital age.
“Getting on a social media app to dehumanize, disrespect, and degrade people who look like their sisters, mothers, and aunts; we can even take that out of the equation- other human beings. You’re disrespecting other human beings.” -Amanda 2020.
They’re racist and that’s how they genuinely feel. She said she was sorry she didn’t think it would get this far, implying she’s doesn’t care who she hurt only cares that people are mad at them.
And slavery wasn't even that long ago! My great grandfather was BORN in slavery. I'm a high school student. We can't pretend that this ended over 200 years ago.
@@qqddbb Exactly And everybody forgets the Jim crow laws. It's easier for them to talk and dismiss slavery because no one is alive from slavery right now and they use that as an excuse to not be empathetic. They always avoid Jim crow laws because there are plenty of ppl who are still alive from that time. People act like racism ended with slavery. It's still alive and well not just in people but in corporations, economics, crime, war etc
I keep saying this but YOU DON'T HAVE TO DISRESPECT BLACK WOMEN IF YOU LIKE WHITE WOMEN YOU DON'T HAVE TO DISRESPECT BLACK WOMEN IF YOU LIKE WHITE WOMEN YOU DON'T HAVE TO DISRESPECT BLACK WOMEN IF YOU LIKE WHITE WOMEN
True When you make it about race, it becomes much deeper than just love. something is wrong. Love is love regardless of race but I have a feeling a lot (not all) of these men are getting with these white women for the wrong reasons, whether it's subconscious or not. It's Sad.
@@saudadeanguish3139 after one of my boys told me he's with his white gf to get back at white people and she knows and is with him I had to block em on everything... People are very high maintenance and very self righteous to the point where i people don't support them 100 percent they think theyre against them and their ideology.
i love how when nonblack people make jokes about black people it's never "oh black people run in different directions when they laugh, or black people love to save money." no it's always slave jokes or the n word. like how is anyone supposed to find stuff like that funny. who legitimately laughs at slavery? and whenever we don't find humor in the racism we're sensitive.
i'm part south asian and when i tell you east asian culture is very colorist ... overall their culture definitely looks down on other asians so i just assumed people knew this but ugh the disappointment i feel. no poc solidarity whatsoever. and even south asians are anti-black as hell i hate it here
kacey Extremely colorist, and it’s so sad. I’m an asian minority, so don’t exactly have a country, but damn when I saw those TikToks that Amanda used, I just felt my heart drop. Literally I felt so ashamed. I’m not exactly educated on the issue, so anyone please feel free to correct me or discuss, but I think the colorism in certain countries definitely stem from colonialization. Like in South East Asian countries, and even in West Asia, there’s the toxic beauty standard to be more pale, with some people even doing dangerous skin whitening products. It’s just sad how some countries are still feeling the effects of colonialism, of WHITE people. And those effects leak into other areas of society, affecting more people.
I hate how every time I tell people about Shane Dawson and other influencers doing blackface they would say “iT wAs A jOkEeEeE” like blackface wasn’t already created for the entertainment of white people.. it’s the same thing as trying to act “ghetto” while stereotyping black women everywhere for the entertainment and 5 seconds of clout. I AM TIREDDDD 😴
@@ilovelucyb7173girl... a lot of black people been saying it for years but y'all cursed at us, sweared at us and do not forget the "you are just jealous of his success"
it baffles me how they go back to slavery for their “jokes” and “comedy” but when we go back to slavery to explain why their actions are extremely racist it’s “ you guys need to move on” “ you guys bring race into everything” like come on.
That double standard is disgusting. They know what they are doing, and since they can't get stopped, they will keep going back to the past and "celebrate" stupidity and bad things such as enslavement. I am disgusted.
Black people literally invented “cool”. We are the creators of what is trendy and hip today. That includes most trendy dances, slang, clothes etc. Look at most Fortnite emotes. Yeah it’s sad that we don’t get the credit we deserve, it’s time that we learn how to capitalize off of our own culture.
I think what Fortnite should do is name the dance after the creator and give them credit, money or give them credit and money and let the creator pick the name of the dance
I don't understand. So people aren't to do anything they see other's do if they're black? Especially in america, it's all about mixing everything together? I'm confused...
“cancel culture is sooo toxic” “i grew up saying the n-word” “i have black friends/boyfriend/coworkers” “people can change” “it was so long ago” my 5 least favorite phrases used by non-black people who were cancelled for being racist
abxzy this is what gets me cause i’m mixed and i didn’t know the black side of my family and i knew about the word in elementary school like- they lyin i stg how can a person be so ignorant????
it’s one thing if they were a child, raised by racists who isolated them from the modern world, but that’s so rare in comparison to 17 year olds who just want to be racist
my only problem with cancel culture is when the people being cancelled manage to convince their *white* audience that they're "sorry" and that they've "changed" and keep their career going without skipping a beat
Chill Hills the algorithm shows you what you like, mine is very lgbtq+ and poc and female friendly but every once in a while something racist or homophobic slips through and that is ... disappointing. I try to hit the dont show me content like this/not interested
The “Black woman caricature” should have been left in the 90s. We continue being the butt of the joke, and then they gaslight us and call us sensitive when we speak up about it. Wtf
Dark humor is jokes about death, not racism, not rape, not homophobic, its about death. Dont say u have a sense of dark humor if ur just a bigoted asshole
another big problem I have with tiktok is the randomly over sexual tiktoks I see constantly... literally every other video is a 14 year old talking about their turn ons
j.uc_ Don’t be fooled because I literally saw a TikTok promoting COKE... coke. In the comments people were saying “ everyone has to try it”... “if you haven’t tried it you haven’t lived”... “ I can’t leave the house without a bump” i was like whaaaaaat?!?🤨🤨
as a white person it actually mindboggles me that when people are called out they always resort to the ‘i was ignorant, ive changed’ like duuudee.. if youve changed youd own up to the fact that you are the problem and leave the judgement to the people youve hurt. you have no place to make excuses.
Exactly. And you know what they shouldn’t have to “change”. I’m not saying they shouldn’t change I’m saying that they shouldn’t have been racist in the first place.
Shaunice Fr and ppl have the AUDACITY to say “ well we all make mistakes” sure we do but if those are the types of mistakes your making then you’re gonna have to watch your back. It’s almost as if having a racist past is normal to some ppl
It kind of is. I always got bullied only during my childhood years but suddenly when I moved on to high school and college, everyone was cool with me being Asian. I think kids are simply dumb. Idk lol.
@@hanillust I'm sorry you got bullied just bc of your race. I do not believe racism is natural but simply a result of racist parenting or just not being exposed to other races. I feel like all parents have a duty to educate their kids to accept others of different skin tones at an early age because if they don't, they get their views from biased people or family members
Shane Dawson has never been on my radar, I didn’t even know about that. I just never got a good feeling about him. Like everytime I saw his face I was like “I wanna punch it but idk why”...
I literally see a colorist/racist tiktok on my feed every 5 or so scrolls. I’m sorry but population control needs to happen cause I’m sooo done. FYI: the last part of my comment isn’t meant to be taken seriously. it’s just tiring being a black person and constantly seeing this and non black people invalidating the feelings of black women and gaslighting them.
Let's stop using age as an excuse for intentional ignorance and racism. At their age (around 14-18) I knew what was right and wrong and had a sense of morals. I knew what racism was and knew what not to say avout certain cultures because it would be a disrespect to them. I knew using slurs because they're "trendy" or "popular" or in music was not ok. These kids know too. Being young, past a certain age, does not excuse you from your actions. It would be different coming from a five year old but these are people who are in high school, getting ready to head to college-- young ADULTS.
I am that age, and let me tell you there is no exuse. If you have an internet connection, a place of education and two goddamn braincells you are able to NOT be racist. you can not say you didn't know that racism was bad in this economy in this tech heavy society.
@@symon9847exactlyyyyy the Internet took away ALL “I didn’t know” excuses fs! I mean I still think anyone knows basic human decency in general but the more so called “subtle” racism even today, they literally have NO excuse today!
I have no doubt in my mind people who are saying that I’m from a small town so I didn’t know what it meant you did learn about racism in elementary school I’m sorry you did you learn about slavery that is something you have to learn in elementary school it’s like required I lived in a small town and you just didn’t say certain things like OK you could’ve gotten research on your own i would walk to the library because my mom didn’t wanna take me and i would learn about things beside slavery but i learned about and it’s never ok under any circumstances and this coming from a white girl
Noel Uchendu yeah the only thing that catches me off guard is how much she seems to find holding up certain cultural norms really important. like the tiger king video i agreed with overall but i felt like it was overly judgemental
Amari Chance she's yelling because blatant RACISM and ANTIBLACKNESS are uhhh........ kinda upsetting. People who are mad at that really need to have a seat and listen
i’m glad my faves would never be caught DEAD on that app. i had to delete after a day of using it bc of all the lil white boys attacking us darkskins 🤢 appalling behavior
This kid in my math class always claims that he "has dark humor" but his dark humor was really just racism, slavery, and slave auctions. The jokes are literally just for shock value and if you're not shocked then they're not funny.
Jaida when i was younger, i used to think that ‘hey, these people are also made fun of, so we’re in the same boat!’ (granted, some racism is worse than others, but this isn’t the oppression olympics). it only took me two days on twitter to realize that no, that’s a fucking lie.
@@user-dw8uj1fb4t I agree. I will admit, black/POC people talk crap about white people all the FREAKIN time. Tbh, white people actually can experience racism. Just not to their faces.
Jada Fan girl Why do you think that is? They've done and continue to do things that affect the community today, and most do nothing to help. Instead they take it personally and keep us stuck.
@Mam Jallow In a way, I agree. But where I come from all I hear about is how all white people are "show offs, brag about their hair" and whatnot. My grandpa's white and I've never thought those things so it makes sense for me to think its racism lol sorry
Love the fact that casual racism made me not eat watermelon whenever in public, never eat purple grapes in public and get excited about being vegetarian because I didn't eat fried chicken. That shit gets you to your core and its not funny
Preach!! We were in Target last year shopping for summer and I saw a beach tote with a watermelon on it. Cute! Summer! Fun! Nope....told my husband if I were to purchase that bag it would open up the floor for me to be made fun of. I don’t even like watermelons! They taste like water! I would rather just drink water! Lmao
Canada is not better. They treat the indigenous people and African immigrants there like shit. It’s literally a colder version of America, I don’t know why people think Canada is just the garden of eden.
It’s honestly so jarring to see how far removed people are from slavery. Like do people not understand what slavery is? How is that funny? How is it that you do not have any empathy for what other people have gone through? I genuinely believe that people do not even take the time to think about how atrocious slavery was. Sickening.
It’s crazy people think slavery happened hundreds of years ago but I’m from the Caribbean and my great grandma was a SLAVE! I meet her she wasn’t very old I was 10 and she was in her late 80’s. This was about 10 years ago so do the maths. It’s disgusting that people think this a joke.
our american history classes have got to have fkn better, more truthful curriculums!!!!!! the sugarcoating of our BRUTAL history is infuriating!!!!!! i know that kids need to be somewhat shielded from the truly violent details of out history, but dammit they have to be aware that such details EXIST! especially for fkn older middle and high schoolers. they are plenty old enough to know the details and ignorance of such facts lead to THIS bullshit grrrrrr. FUCK that.
Meghan Sullivan Couldn’t agree more. The US’s history curriculum is DISGUSTINGLY outdated and paints us to be more benevolent than we were. I’m in a women’s history class right now, and it’s shocking to hear all the atrocities that were targeted towards African American women. Like they already experienced so oppression and discrimination, but there’s EVEN MORE the history books aren’t telling us. Like the suffrage movement definitely wasn’t as equal as we’re taught to believe. Even after the 19th amendment, African American communities (and other ethnic minorities) around the US were still denied voting rights through loopholes that white people took advantage of. And this was BARELY 100 years ago. Our great grandparents experienced this!! I don’t think people today realize how horrible white people (the US) were to all POC. And it’s even sadder to see fellow POC discriminate and target African Americans even though all ethnic minorities are still feeling the effects of colonialism and the effects of white supremacy (which is still living on to this day). It’s not some far removed part of history. These things are happening RIGHT NOW and these literal CHILDREN are perpetuating these disgusting, toxic ideas and behaviour (racism, sexism, etc).
there’s a interview naomi campbell once did and the interviewer (a white man) was like “why do I feel like you’re yelling at me?” And Naomi was like “I’m not yelling, I’m PASSIONATE” ppl don’t realize they you’re passionate about what you’re speaking on

pepi jyp actually, american white culture usually remove emotion when speaking bc its considered upperclass. It comes from the British who are pretty monotone. The french speak with passion though.
I really feel this. I’m naturally a soft spoken and chill person but when I stand up for myself my white managers say I am “defensive” and “hostile”. I’m just like “Not once did I call you out your name or raise my voice at you so don’t paint me as aggressive when I stand up for myself”.
@@YPM498 I feel this too. At school, there was confrontation between me and some white bullies. I was just defending myself .my voice was firm but I wasn't shouting. They put a stop to the argument straight away for their sake. It's just so sad at this point.

there’s two sides to amanda’s video: the people who agree with her and feel like they’re on the same side as her, or the people who are offended for some reason.
I love TikTok, but it is so INCREDIBLY toxic. TikTok was supposed to be for fun, not for fame hungry, racist, homophobic, colourist and all the rest of the other discriminatory phobias and -ists to come out and be like this.
Different audiences. I agree it’s a double standard, but it has to do with who watches his tik toks vs who watched Emma’s tik toks lil huddy has fan base of young kid’s who just think he’s cute and like the dances, whereas Emma’s audience was made up of teens and maybe 20 somethings who are barbs and tend to fall more on the progressive side so they no better then to endorse racists and give them clout. lil huddys audience are kids who just excuse it as “he’s changed” or don’t even understand what he did wrong. Also the people who comment melanin king are usually the ones who are trolling and have already called him out to be cancelled, but have yet to gain support from his core audience which truly has the power to cancel him.
As a young black girl, it honestly sucks knowing that I’m going to grow up to be hated and the butt of everyone’s joke. I wasn’t raised “ghetto” and I like to consider myself smart, but all the stereotypes say otherwise and it just sucks. It *sucks.*

If you’re white too and feel like you’re being shouted at or attacked then you’re literally part of the problem. You shouldn’t feel defensive, you should be agreeing and following what is being said because it’s all true. if you feel like you’re being told off obviously you have some part in you that doesn’t like what’s being stated so change your perspective and educate yourself because black women don’t deserve this disrespect
unamazing kalen Im sorry you went through that, thats completely understandable in your case and others alike, it becomes a problem when people have an issue what’s being said :)
In my experience, people will only feel defensive when someone generalizes and tries to attribute something to a single race. Something like "Why are white people so racist"-racism is experienced and committed by all races. One race isn't more racist than another. And definitely you can't say "this race is so racist"
"You got holes in your argument....swiss cheese" I literally fell out. This was everything. Been telling ppl about tik tok and they still dont believe. Keep revealing the truth
I remember when it blew up on Twitter bc James Charles and people were mad at him bc he was glorifying domestic abuse.. like yeah that’s a huge part of the issue here and the fact that he literally gaslit his supporters who were genuinely triggered by it... but how did they miss the racial implications of it? that the kids that are doing this mugshot trend are privileged, white, and sheltered kids who would never have to deal w the US prison system? It’s sooooo incredibly tone deaf. Tiktok it’s like it’s own little bubble sm problematic shit happens on that app that these kids give it a pass, it takes for it to blow up on Twitter for people to realize what’s going on.
black girls grow up with insecurity from “jokes”, micro aggressions and bullying just for the bullies to grow up and have their actions excused with “oh it was just a phase, they were so young” yea well i still feel the insecurity from that today but thanks for the clarification :)
