Shouldn't ascended jewel crafting allow us to make better Jade Bot Cores and chips for them? Adding stronger and more diverse types of cores and chips. It be a great way to bring Jade Bots back into current content by collecting materials from different expansions for different types of cores and fragments. Wishful thinking, but it be sweet to get a legendary version too for our lil bot buddies

I figure the warclaw's chain pull will function similarly to the turtle and skyscale's siege abilities. Would love to see a bunch of warclaws yanking on Taidha covington's gate too tbh lol.

For the Warclaw changes, I think making it a combat mount would be a good step for its use in PvE. The Siege Turtle is neat, but requiring a second person to use the guns really limits it, and the Skyscale's fireball really only exists for specific gimmicks.

Thanks for reading it all to me while I do the dishes, Here are some of my personal thoughts to add to the discussion. The sky jump would indeed allow for diagonal jumps. The raptor makes a long horizontal jump but if there is a bit of elevation you won't make it. And the Bunny allows a very high jump without too much horizontal travel so I imagine that being able to make a second jump in the air would allow for a combination of both (And possibly jumping around a corner as could be done with the jackal in return for some vertical loss) I can imagine that they would turn normally hard raids into something less punishing. For Sabetha, a bunch of people needs to take down the cannon (It's too hard for one person but if 5 people go there and 2 people screw up it's going to be fine) I don't believe ascended jewelry would be worth the materials as it is very cheap to get it in different ways hence unless they bring out some craftable legendary jewelry it probably wouldn't be worth it.

I am so glad they talked about devs wanting to make old lore content gw1 was a big part of my early teen years and all the way up to my adulthood

I think that warclaw could climb high cliffs like a goat (they even tease that with the new warclaw skins) and that would make them better than even skyscale, that can't go up indefinitely.

I would love if neither Skyscale or Griffon were allowed to use in Janthir maps for the first quater (3 months) of the expansion. I have both and I feel like it would bring everyone on the same page with the same experience.

As someone, who not only played GW1, still plays and has the lore book that came with the game. GW2 borderline ret-con GW1 story, PoF (even though good) change lore for the gods, Balthazar was very much on our side and there are 2 times he has stepped in to help us find a better solution, once as Grenth tried to freeze the world, and once in FoW. the gods had aspects. (Much of what you see with the Dragons are the gods aspects.) The Dragons didn't exist until the end of GW1, so I'm guessing that's when they changed that. The aspects kept the gods from uniting for any long amount of time. These are just some of the borderline ret-con things. Most every one that still plays GW1 thinks GW2 is a different story. I think it sits on the line and I'm not sure they can bring in GW1 lore into GW2 without crossing it completely. but, hey DC and Marvel comics do it all the time, and i still read them XD

Maybe the warclar air jump is first jump vertical, then while in the air can do 2nd jump forward.

This sounds like the Jackal's jump when you can triple press the jump mid air to cross wide spaces.

Anet has been figuring out their "content pipeline" for the entire life of the game. they haven't until now, and that tells me they likely won't succeed now either. SotO was already showing they took on too much and the expansion was aenemic at best.

I just hope with the living quarters, there are passive legendary material and gold generators. For those who don't get to play much.

My biggest worry with housing is not to make travelling the world obsolete and world becomes empty by its desing since everything player do in the instance. So hopefully it will have some neat features but it will not replace the actual world exploration and participating in group content instead add a cool spin on world just like mounts did

upgrading DirectX was a mistake. They should've gone with Vulkan since they already knew they wanted to go on Steam :(

I'm in the same boat, played GW1 back in 2005 when I was 11 and stopped a few months after Nightfall was released. Don't remember anything about the story besides a few names here and there.

New DirecX features, like advanced water, kinda give me hope, we could eventually see Piarte-like expansion or something, we already have a skiff, so who knows, maybe a bigger ship with NPC crew with the option of other players coming to your boat and shooting from canons on some water threats(not underwater) would be pretty rad.

I heavily suspect the new warclaw stuff is for those of us who don't have flying mounts and those with flying mounts won't be blocked from flying.

They will block flying and block it behind either new mastery or achievement chain, I think.

The Warclaw for new players starting this xpac as their first, wont have skyscale or other mounts potentially, so I don't mind it being used this way.

I bet Air Jump works like a mix of jackal and raptor. It doesn't jump as far as raptor, but you press jump again to prevent falling.

I wonder if the warclaw air jump, you can change direction mid jump and mark the spot you want to jump to, like a fungus among us. and it's vertical first jump than horizontal.

I can't imagine the dissapointment people had with PoF, waited years.. sure the mounts are great, but the content itself? Like its so close to being dead content if it wasn't for the weekly stuff/Pinyata. The best thing about yearly expans is that if it sucks, you only have to wait a year rather than 4.

Living Story is a FOMO model, I think. Just to create the fear of missing out or the need to stay engaged.

Living World 2 and beyond having the most confusing pricing strategy. Also from the studio that brought you fully developed FOMO content in Living World 1.

My biggest question about the Homesteads is how much functionality can we as players add, like Banks, Crafting stations, Trading posts, maybe even combat dummies, and other merchants. I get that this would make other areas in the game obsolete, but it's also the single thing that would make homes from a great addition to a perfect addition. PoE does this very well, I have all my NPCs on the upper floor, and the map device in the lower floor while the teleporter and the chest is in the middle floor, all a blink away. It's fun to optimize the way to access all those functional NPCs and decorate the place afterwards.

If they don't speed up the warclaw to at least base-raptor movement rate, it will probably be used only where needed for the xpack. I'd love to ride mine around in OW because I like the look, but it's just so pitifully slow I can't bring myself to do it.

What we need to fill in plot points is a 3 hr video from WP

something of note is that both bunny n skyscale have vertical limitations - bunny can only jump so high, n skyscale can run out of stamina/heightmina fairly easily. wvw esp red bl got some massive sheer cliffs that have always been kind of a pain - if they can make the warclaw scale sheer cliff faces, that would absolutely be useful af. that said it would almost be too OP so I dunno XD maybe use the spear on the rock face and then double jump up?? I'm pretty excited to see what they hot on this one

I want the warclaw to just be Torrent from elden ring. Double jump and a big jump when near a wind gust.

for me the excitment lies in: mirage getting a PvE end game build once more. and finaly being aible to Raid with my favorete mesmer spec again. i do hope they make more adjesuments, cause i love condi builds over power builds, and would love to raid with condi mirage over power mirage. but having 1 build is a game changer for me, i already own the next expension. changing nothing on the raid structure is, is a good thing. i would be happy with one raid per year. just to provide new content. as fractel entosiasts would be happy with 1 new fractel every 4 months. (content is simpler, once every 4 months looks to be a decent time frame) just to keep the people engaged, with strikes i would do 1 new strike every 6 months after the base strikes. as strike should be a mini raid, you can do when you don't have mutch time that day. more dificalt than tier 4 fractel, easyer than raids, that is where i would place the strikes. for that reason, once every 6 months, or 2 new strikes per expesnion release, after release. give and take 2 months after release for the first, next in 6 months after, than new expension.

Wait, doesn't the jackal have a higher base speed than the raptor?

not sure if "easy" and "hard" is a helpful descriptor for what you're talking about. i can't think of an alternative set of descriptors, but something else would be more appropriate.

I already use the warclaw in the open world a lot. I think it's a nice happy middle between walking through maps and zooming past maps. Of course, catering to people who don't want to metagame the fun out of everything would be a change of pace for ANet... I'm really curious how the warclaw's chain pull will compare to the turtle's siege cannon in practice. I'd love to see interplay with obstacles that can be targeted with either.

Because essentially all content is "relevant" i disagree with the 1 year expansion idea. This is a game where good quality content will actually be played even when new stuff releases so why go away from that?

I just logged back into gw2 with a friend who never played it and a brother that left after path of fire, like me. We started new and it was really boring for all three of us. The limited time raptor for the friend is also a stupid decision. I had a lot of fun with gw2 when it came out and for some years but its outdated. I hope they are working on gw3 and we get information about that instead of an gw2 expansion next year.

mukluk brain "anet learned from this one year cycle" half things released in soto are broken asf,bugged asf,missing animation, never to be fixed... so i guess they gonna learn how to finish their work and fixing stuff? those are huge amount of copium you smoking buddy.
