Arguably THE BEST video about Lineage 2 that was ever made!! I echo so much sentiment that you expressed. Despite it being almost a 2-decade old game I find myself keep coming back to different variations of it for its incredibly sophisticated yet simple mechanics and visuals!! Keep playing and keep making these videos please!!
What a great video! As somebody who played around 2008 and understood little to nothing about the game, but it is some of favorite memories/time in video games/mmos, this video helps a lot. You explaining what is different in each update and why that is good/bad is awesome. Currently playing on Reborn Origins, essentially learning about the game again. :) Thanks for the effort you've put into the video!

Such a cool video! One of the best I've seen in a long time, the old footage from 2007 is the bomb. Really brought a nostalgic feeling, wish I had some Fraps from back then also. I can't wait for Signature to open. Big cheers man, thanks for making this.
Remember to not let it all be nostalgia, the game still has to stand on its own merits. I wanted to make the point that to me Reborn showed me that my love for L2 isn't all nostalgia but I couldn't find a place to fit it xD
Nice video, great to see more ppl being so nostalgic and having this pure love about the game. Reborn was/is indeed one of the best and cleanest servers ever made, it gave us all the chance to re-live the "Golden era" of this game. Hope the best for Signature, I don't know if I have the time to play there but I'm definately a Reborn supporter no matter what. Well made video ;)

I started playing L2 around the same time, 2005-2006, mostly on private servers and played it daily until 2010/1. Then my favourite server, GvE, closed, I tried playing other private servers, both low rate and high rate, I tried the game when it went f2p and tried Lineage 2 classic, but I could never recapture the special moment. I'm mostly a solo player, and with work and life stuff it's hard for me to lvl up a char or chars for buffs, dances and so on, and all the pvp orientated private servers are usually crap or don't last too long. Also my biggest fear with getting back into it, is that I am way out of the loop and I've forgotten a lot of tricks, farming spots, quests, etc. Every now and then I go on a nostalgia trip and watch old pvp vids on youtube or the ones I have saved on old HDDs and DVDs or I click on the Twitch L2 section and watch streams. Still remains probably my favourite game, which I've spent countless hours on. I still talk daily to a few of the people I met back in the day.
If you ever thought of going back to the game I assure you that Reborn community will help you regain the knowledge and learn much more . Having one box allowed means that you will always have random players Maining buffer etc , so you don’t have to level up 5+ characters. Give it a try
Jump on, brother. I did the same as you did and got the same feelings. Jump in, I promise you that you will remember and relearn everything with joy. If you want to play, these are the servers I consider "serious" - L2 reborn - L2 Elwyn - L2 elmorelab - L2 OvC (seasonable GvE fast paced, super fun, the best pvp/tvt out there)
I know for a fact that you spoke not only for me but for a lot of ppl that think the same about this game, no other game is compared to lineage interlude, the amount of time i spend , friends i made, joy and sadness, i also only play reborn by now, and i hope they end the server on interlude.
m.crit rate shouldnt be nerfed at all. One important thing you missed is Pre interlude chronicle is archers were hitting way harder crits due to UNNERFED dance of fire (100% crt. dmg -> 50% crt dmg) and death whisper(50% crt.dmg -> 35% crt.dmg) which as you can see, combined is a big deal.
@@Ascend3r Hmm you might be right actually. My brain tells me 100->50% on dance but i cannot find official infos and old posts on forums suggest it was 50->35% indeed.
Beautiful video , it was a pleasure to watch. It's nice to hear your voice again. Don't forget that Death Whisper and Dance of Fire give 50% crit damge in C4 instead of 30% as per later updates which will make fighters a lot better than they used to be on Reborn Origins, especially with unflagged AoE fixed , which was also not the case on Origins :P
Oh yeah i remember hearing about that, it's listed in the Interlude patch notes but without the specific percentages. I suppose that would've been NCsoft compensating for everyone making stacked fighters as they did to stacked mages in early Gracia!
Cool video man!I played during the era 2004-2007 ( c3 to kamael) in official servers and the period of c4-c5 was lit!If i got time and mood i will definitly give a try!Its pure nostalgia because back then ,most people didnt know sh*t about the game( including me) and that was the fun part. At first weeks , i didnt know the usage of ss or buffs!They were people selling buffs in all towns , and they just casted all, and u were excited!It was so crowded ,that in cemetary/ forsaken plains u had a small spot for duo. As far for raid bosses , there was always parties (1 was enough in c3-c4) that you had to pvp for it!Till c4, if you died from higher mob, you could drop stuff.But they lost a lot players when they updated on c5 and request some verification via email . Anyways , my main concern is that, the biggest percent of people of now playing ,are experienced players and take the game seriously and competive!Games from that era cant bring new players (some exceptions)
Very nice content and explanation of how majority of the reborn playerbase that left the origins server felt. Im also very keen to play on signature, and been as a main nuker player, i also would like to see cap on the mage crit, otherwise after a while on interlude, it will be too much with valakas and wm auguments, will be just F1 fights with no skill and just one shotting ppl.

I started playing on a C1 private server, moved to retail servers in USA and came back to the game in EU 4game retail for Goddess of Destruction. Nowadays my characters are still there but i can't be bothered with all the cashshop items and everything i missed. So i might join in november, i miss playing my Elven Elder.

Can feel your hype for it that's nice, the only reason I probably wont play is the Admin. In my opinion they lack of vision for the project. They got more greedy every year. The decision they are taking are questionable and frenquently bad. The RMT is verry present and at every level of the game. Maybe nostalgia will be stronger but I dont think so. Anyway have fun the comunity is everything this game has left.
Bro i played since c1 bnb and eglobal x1 i was 16back then so not so important on server but still the grind and 12hrs straight farm was there, after interlude i stoped, never liked gracia hellbound etc and continued my life but my love for the game was always there, you might have re egnited that flame cause what you explained is what im looking for and i have never played hardcore spoiler/crafter or SE/PP so thats where im standing. Just whatever you choose be aware that it will be hard to earn your gear, better have some kind of vague idea how to make an income. I fully suspect it will catch quite a few people off-guard when they hit level 30 and realize they still can't afford D-grade 🤣 then again I guess there's some nostalgic feeling to that, when I played L2 back in the day I was always dirt poor with no idea how to do anything about it 🥲
@@Ascend3r ik bro i was playing for years on c1 x1 and best i reached was 60 lvl treasure hunter with C grade gear lol, thats why i think for spoiler/crafter so it would be a new experience for me,kind of . Nevermind the grind is what i miss and those long hour farm with the brothers . I hope to play together and get to meet each other etc.. until then have fun and luck in everything you do
I'm very excited for the new server! Only having an issue which is I love playing Bishop in PVP but I've never rolled one in a x1 server and I'm scared that the grind might discourage me especially since I'm going into it with no CP or clan
Yeah that will be a very difficult path, you won't have Turn Undead either until C5 so solo'ing is... not going to be very viable ^^ Gotta find parties to take you in to not take eons

I will be joining with my brother and we are looking for an english speaking clan. If it is a serious clan (i mean they play in clan, not necessarily super grindy) we can adapt our char selection to clan needs
En dat was nou zo leuk aan Origins in het begin, als het altijd Interlude blijft, KAN je ook alle tijd nemen. Maar nu ze constant verder blijven gaan zijn er altijd tig nieuwe dingen om voor te grinden, een grote reden dat ik vroeger rond deze versies alleen maar op high rates zat 🥲
Klopt helemaal wat je zei, "either grinding non stop cutting edge, or get oneshotted in pvp" maar L2 zal nooit verdwijnen denk ik! Veel plezier in Signature 🎉😊
@@Ascend3r Nah I can't. I just wanted the vanilla game with a bit more rates, 1x is too insane and too sweaty... NPC Buffer / Mana pots is horrible it makes Lineage 2 boring. I would like to just be able to play few hours every 2 days or so and still feel some meaningful progress, which is impossible in x1. They could implement a "rested system" where you get f.e. x5 EXP for only 2h/day per IP on 1 char and requires you to be offline in town to recover the x5 EXP bonus for over 15 hours or so.
Yep, my main concern there would be that Interlude is the end state of the server, and it will be a lot harder to change it after the fact because people will be like "But we all made the CP like this because we expected busted m.crit rates! mimimimi". It's futureproofing, but yes until Augments come in it likely won't matter much.
man I really want to play C4 again but the damn reborn anti cheat prevents me. keeps giving me an error that seems to have no solution so it's really annoying

and on interlude sps/sorcs are way beter than any other class on pvp with 100% m crit rate and titan are way beter than any other class for farm. interlude is JUST as trash. Also kamael are only good on gracia+, theyre absolutely dog on kamael/hellbound while mages are busted as hell still.
Not sure, it is likely that we will but it's not certain. Technically on old retail this was started as an event during C4, and every private server I know simply went on to copy it as a standard feature.
