hello beautiful people! my name is emily, i am currently preparing to move back to spain for my second year of teaching english abroad through the north american language and culture assistants program (NALCAP)! in this video, i talk about how to find an apartment in spain with a language barrier, HOW I GOT SCAMMED MY FIRST YEAR IN MADRID 😭, how much spanish you'll need to know before moving to spain, how much i get paid as an auxiliar de conversacion, and what my mom's reaction was when i told her i was moving across the world! thank you for joining me today, and as always please let me know if you have any questions down below!

Hola Emily!!!! I applied to NALCAP and I’m currently waiting on being placed 🎉 did you find it was difficult to get the FBI background check done? And did you need to have any of your documents notarized or Apostilled? Also yes the cheetah girlz movie!!! I think about it all the time lol

Hey there that’s amazing! I hope you take the chance and do it! Tutoring is fairly easy to get, don’t be shy in asking anyone and everyone if they would know of any classes you could teach. There’s a lot of availability and there are always people wanting to learn through private classes!

Hey girl! I have a question, my passport is expired and I want to apply the first day applications open. I don't think I have enough time to renew in time. Can I apply with my expired passport and then renew before I leave?

hey hey! a main requirement from the program is to have a valid passport at the time of application until the end of the program which would be May 31, 2025, or June 30, 2025 (for Madrid). so you would need to apply with your renewed passport already!

The deposit for an apartment is usually a month’s rent. So if you’re splitting the rent with roommates you’ll each pay your portion for deposit as well
