What about moving a panicle hydrangea from a large pot to the ground--is it OK in the fall or spring?

Based on my experience everything on this is so true for our zone (6). I have purchased larger shrubs and trees from a local nursery which will be delivered at the beginning of october as recommended by the nusery's owner. Grass overseeding in combination with aeration during the fall has given me the best results when compared to spring. I also agree that unfortunately the plant selection isn't the best at the end of summer but luckily I was able to find what I needed.Thanks for sharing this video.

I feel like Zone 9b doesn’t have a fall 😂 but I plan to plant in Sept/Oct. This is the first year I’m trying to establish a garden & I’m nervous for hurricanes/frost/etc 🤞🙏 hopefully all goes well bc I can’t wait to see the growth in Spring/Summer. I’ve found the native perineal plants I want on sale 🙌 we might try replacing a tree this fall too 🤞

I went to college in Zone 9b so I know exactly what you mean! But even in the sub tropics fall is still the best time to plant most things. Good luck with your fall plantings.
