Thank you for telling people, I’m in northern Ohio ( Cleveland) and already see Miscanthus growing on the roadside.

So many better North American species of grasses to chose from, there's really no reason to use Miscanthus in the landscape. Thanks for watching.

I don’t know what you are talking about but I found this plant the most difficult to care for and I am not even a total beginner with plants , it is dying and I have looked up over the internet , couldn’t find the reason , I live in Poland and it’s the summer season now . Please help if you can , the leaves are all drying up , the plant is terribly sick

How is that lantana isn't known as a noxious weed in the US? Here in Australia, there's a continual battle to kill this prolific weed but the only natural killer is severe, prolonged frosts.
@TheGardenersCenter
@TheGardenersCenter 14 дней назад
It's weedy here in the US, but only in the warmer, most southern parts of the country. Our long, cold winters keep it well behaved in the rest of the country.

What about zone 4
@TheGardenersCenter
@TheGardenersCenter 14 дней назад
Agastache 'Blue Fortune' would be a good one to try in Zone 4, especially if you have reliable, deep snow cover during the winter months.

I’ve been putting 5 ice cubes in my orchid every Sunday for years!😂 …but I’ve never had more than 3 flowers in bloom at once ever either. Thanks for the advice! I’ll give it a go! (Hard part will be remembering to do it every 10 days!!)

That’s interesting. I usually set mine in a bowl of water in the sink for a minute, let it soak up whatever it wants and then take it out and sit in the sink to drain for a few minutes before putting it back in its pot. Haven’t had any issues. When I had my last orchid I did it like you were showing and it ended up with shriveled leaves and ultimately died. Not saying you’re wrong or anything! Just sharing my experience.

There are several nodes that could've grown a new spike. You didn't need to chop the entire stem.

Great video - thank you! Last yr we planted a catmint container. AM sun, PM shade. It thrived! On hot afternoons a dear old neighborhood cat would curl up in it and nap. When hot temps were extreme my husband picked up the container- cat and all - and brought it into the kitchen. Sweet! This yr we’re growing another container just for the cat. ❤

I didn’t know that leaf could recover… I used to cut them thinking they were old… because a bath would do nothing. But I never dared to try a bath that lasted 3 whole days from fear the plant would rot 😢
@TheGardenersCenter
@TheGardenersCenter 18 дней назад
We’ve had some that only sat in a soaking bath for a few hours and some that sit for a couple days. The most important thing is just to keep an eye on it! Once the leaves look nice and plump and the roots are green, take it out of the bath, let it drain for about 15 minutes, then you should be good to go!

I’ll give this a try. I have creeping thyme but the clover always gets a head start. Thyme comes alive later than white clover in zone 6b. Creeping Phlox sounds like it may start even before the clover. The Bumble Bees absolutely adore the Clover so I’m relieved to hear they really love the phlox flowers too. I hope it gets thick enough for grass to stop peaking through.
@TheGardenersCenter
@TheGardenersCenter Месяц назад
Yes, creeping Phlox begins growing much earlier in the spring than both thyme and white clover so it may be a great choice for you. It is usually dense enough to keep most broadleaved weeds from growing in it but grassy weeds can sometimes be a problem. Thanks for watching.

I've grown catmint next to my roses for the last 5-6 years now, and they do fabulously. Need to be pruned heavily at least twice over the blooming season, but I stagger the pruning so that there's always a couple with flowers intact for the pollinators. Every 2 years, I dig them up and divide them, and that keeps them strong and healthy.
@TheGardenersCenter
@TheGardenersCenter Месяц назад
They're truly great perennials. Very smart to divide them every 2 years, they're notorious for suffering from the "donut effect" much faster than most other perennials. Thanks for watching.

Thank you for sharing and explaining your content so well. People like me need people like you and your channel in our life 😃 Being born and raised in a city, gardening is the last thing anyone teaching about, if at all. As I have aged gracefully and moved to a much better area where things actually grow in my back yard lol a lot of things are challenging, your channel and knowledge helps a great deal... Thanks for the information Now do you have any advice for my pothos plants that are being attacked by mealy bugs? I’ve tried diluted alcohol and neem oil and dish soap. The plants cannot be removed and sprayed with water because of their location along the ceiling. TIA

Show us how to propagate the branch we cut off. What happens if we cut 3 knodes nodes from the soil line?
