What I noticed about this make and model and had came to my attention is one thing primarily, its a Parallel V-Twin. This means smooth powerfull delivery.
Don’t know much about motors, or motorcycles for that matter but my grandfathers old bike has been sitting in our garage for years so I’m going to attempt to refurbish it. This really helped! Thank you :D
Hopefully it's working out well for you! If you're mechanically inclined, you will probably find a way to make it work -- RU-vid and forums most likely have all the info you'll need (though a manual would probably be nice too!)
Please add link in the description to each of your other Part xx videos on this bike. I cannot find them. There has to be more than a label maker involved?
Working on mine now I just lost blinker capability and trying to find relay , plus I’d love to have that windshield if your not gonna use it what’s the price?
I've got an 83 Venture 1200 and I 'think' I figured out my running problem. Short story; it ran great on 2 hour ride up north here in Mi last year. After stopping and then riding again it ran out of power finally stopped running. Been giving me fits since. I think I've narrowed it down to a fuel delivery problem & it looks as if I'll need to either pull the tank or at least break it loose to change the petcock on the tank. (I strapped a Sportster tank on where the trunk fits and rode it a bit today and it didn't seem to wanna run out of power) So my question is, do you have any knowledge of what's involved in removing the fuel tank or at least breaking it loose to service the fuel petcock?
Unfortunately, I did not go that far. My Petcock is frozen open as well. But since I am replacing the entire tank with a Backbone mounted tank, I'm not too worried about it. I pulled the tank by removing the entire rear portion of the frame. If you watch my Next video or two on it, you can see ive only got half the bike together at this point. More to come as the weather get's nice enough for me to get into the Garage again.
Derek Dvorak yeah, it's a bit of a change. Right now, this is my current adventure on Loyventures, working on a Venture :-P I want to get back to building things, and customizing things, and such; I'll still be flying, I just need a bit of a break from it so I can get my hands dirty with a different project :-)
Definitely curious to see the rest of the process. I just got two matching 83 venture 1200’s and plan on keeping one stock and changing the other. What are your plans for all the plastics/ bags/ and seat? I love would gladly take them off your hands if you’re not planning on using them.
I have a 1989 Yamaha 1300 like that, i’m tippy toying as well. My air controls have an error message and do not work, So now I’m wondering if I can let the air out of the rear to make the bike shorter
