This thing is really unique. I think people shopping for old school marshall sounding amps might be seriously persuaded by this amp as opposed to other orange offerings.
DAMNIT I need one. This amps sounds out of this world and you hit the types of tones I would use. This is getting added to my Orange arsenal without a doubt. Like ASAP.
The LP dripping with gobs of Orange gain put a smile on my face. I've always been a fan of Gibsons put through Oranges rather than Marshalls and this affirms why
Yes, and too apparent in the gain sound IMO. Too much scratch. I far prefer my AD30, from what I've heard yet and I'm so disappointed that the spec sheet with EL34 on it turned out to be a typo 🙄
God almighty. The single coil high gain playing starting at 1:28 was absolutely sick. Some of the most inspiring playing I’ve heard in a while. Stank face big time
Best rule of thumb I’ve found for tube amps at home is a solid attenuator/load box like a Fyrette Power Station or Reactive Load Box (Suhr Reactive Load etc) if you’re happy just going direct into a computer etc. If you’re at all worried about volume, not all master volumes on amps are created equal and you might not get your amp how you want it to sound without turning the volume up. That’s where the above comes in. I wouldn’t be able to have tube amps at home without them since I live in an apartment.
This amp has stupid amounts of low end/body even on the two watt setting. Way more than say my AD30. I’m perfectly happy with it in the two watt setting when I need to back it off on the volume. And in the 30 watt mode it can be ridiculously loud. Edit: I should also add that I have a TAE. I use it to tame my 100+ watters particularly Marshalls that just won’t sound good unless the master is at around halfway. But I don’t need it for the OR30. It’s not thin whatsoever in two watt mode.
Agreed. Very unsteady noodling, makes me feel irritated. Some very nice sounds in this demo tho, just could have done without all of the doodledoodledibida.
