I am perpetually surprised that Sonic's, the restaurant, has, to this day, never had any cross promotion with Sonic the Hedgehog, especially when Sonic's serves chili dogs, Sonic's favourite food.

i have to admit, these food videos are better when it is 1 meal per day slap together as one video, except when it is something small like candy or chips

Sonic carhop here! They just changed their fries recently to “groovy fries.” They’re crinkle-cut, and I was hesitant to try them at first because I normally hate crinkle-cut fries, but they’re so much better than the fries they replaced. Also, groovy sauce slaps.

For me Sonic is just the place you go to get limeades and then end up ordering a chili dog or whatever cuz you realize you're hungry too

1. Agreed they should lean into being trashy. The cheesy bacon pretzel dog was one of their best past menu items. 2. Wish you tried more slush flavors since that and the ice cream are what they're more known for 3. I know you don't do reduxes, but i wish you could eat in person to get the mozz sticks hot and try a corn dog. 4. The onion rings just ARE that sweet, but still kinda good tbh 5. Watching this while I am fasting for an endoscopy tomorrow morning is definitely a choice.

I’ve always loved this series, and I totally understand that it’s easier to eat everything in one sitting, but it makes it a bit difficult to figure out what someone might want to try if there’s confusion about what item is which. I think fast food places should label items better, but I understand that they might be too busy to do that. I think the snack videos work so well with doing it all in one sitting because everything has a clear label. Plus it’s nice hearing you go into more detail about the items since you know exactly what each item is supposed to be.

I'm only about 5 minutes into the video, I feel like the episode's alternative title should be: ProZD tries to figure out what he ordered from Sonic.

To be fair Sonic food comes out really quick and is delivered to your vehicle. The food is meant to be consumed immediately. Having it delivered to your home? Not so much. Their corndogs, hotdogs and cheesy tots are pretty decent. Lime slushy or a vanilla Dr Pepper- oooeee!

I will go to my grave that Sonic mozzarella sticks are the best out there but you HAVE to eat them fresh lol. I mourn those ancient rubbery ones you had to eat 🥲

The corndog is the best item at Sonic. Just the ability to get a corndog at a fast food restaurant is a plus.

So the onion rings are dipped in milk shake base before breaded and fried instead of buttermilk or some other liquid. That's why those things are sweet.

Sonic's food is pretty mid, but I'll live and die by the claim that their mozzarella sticks, when hot, are fucking BANGIN. I usually only go there for ice cream/shakes, but I always grab mozzarella sticks too

Native Oklahoman here, the birthplace and home of Sonic (their HQ is in OKC, and the original "Sonic" restaurant was in my college town). I was raised going to Sonic. Mostly for their happy hour (half price drinks, 2-4pm every single damn day) but for fast food too. My favorite part of this review was when SungWon tried the onion rings. I KNEW he was going to immediately be so confused by the sweetness. I don't know the reason behind it, but he's not lying, Sonic onion rings are so strangely sweet. I grew up eating them so I love them, but they are a wild curveball if you'd never tried them before. But all in all, loved this video, thanks for trying "America's Drive-In!"

I remember from 2018 to 2019 my mom use to be a manager at Sonic, due to that I would often free stuff from there, so that was pretty cool.

As someone who usually has problems eating really greasy fast food, I love Sonic. And counter to what I just said, you gotta eat the mozz sticks while they’re fresh cause they’re nice and juicy.

In college, we had wendys, sonic, and mcdonalds. I'm happy that (begrudgingly) he ranked the pretzel stick as one of the best menu options. In monteagle tennessee, it is the best thing on the menu

The best way I would describe Sonic's food is that they try to be a jack of all trades, but end up being an absolute master of none.

Sonic, to me, has always been the most C-, minimum effort fast food place ever. Occasionally they bring me in because their ice cream slaps, and their drinks are pretty good, but the food has always been the most basic, cookie-cutter fare. Their food is the bare minimum. The legal requirement. The “You asked for food, we gave you food” kind of quality. If I’m gonna spend money on fast food, I’m gonna go somewhere else and stop at Sonic only for the drinks.

I henceforth declare “Jollibee Dave” as canon.

The fast food worker inside me screams at how pissed I'd feel if one customer ordered that much food and for a youtube video.

We dont have Sonic where I grew up so ive only had it on road trips. Last time I went it took them like half an hour to make our order but my burger on slices of toast instead of a bun (did your sonic not have that?) was piping hot and super fresh, honestly it kicked ass.

Sonic is the best at the end of the day, after working outside or fishing all day, in the back of the truck with friends.

As a regular consumer of Sonic you are a madman for doing all of these in one day 😂. But my favorite item is the Fritos chili cheese wrap. It’s just frito pie in a tortilla and it works SO well. Also the onion rings are sweet because they fry them with the French toast sticks.

But see, the breakfast food is the best (non-drink) stuff at Sonic! And it’s served all day 🥲

It’s honestly funny because Sonic is the place I go to get stuff to supplement something else with. I never have their main entrees because so many other places do it better for around the same or less. Somehow one of their best items is the ultimate meat and cheese burrito. Not even kidding.

Having his friends there makes this even more fun!

I'd much rather spend $1.50 while at Costco for a jumbo hot dog and soda than to bother with Sonic or any comparable place.

Missing out by skipping breakfast entirely, especially since it's a breakfast all day/any day sort of deal, the stuff is just kinda part of the menu. Ultimate Meat and Cheese breakfast burrito is insane.

The crispy chicken CAN be great... but man is there SO much variance in quality with it, it's a complete gamble. As for the tenders, they changed them drastically just a few years ago. Completely different than they were for ages, AND they got rid of the gravy.

$7 for a mere patty sandwiched between plain burger buns???? That's atrocious.

The huge burgers are SuperSonics, the smaller sized double is the Quarter Pound Double. Sonic used to be great but has gone down hill.

Sonic used to be a lot better, they got bought out in 2018 - the biggest quality hit was to the burgers. I'll stan the cheesesticks tho, but they're like McDonald's fries, in that they turn trash if they get cold. Also, you're not crazy regarding the onion rings - for some reason, they put some of their milkshake mix into the onion ring batter.

You know im deep into these videos when he got asked how does it compare to jack in the box and i said to myself "yes, yes. Interesting question."

I've only eaten at Sonic twice in my life, years and years apart. The first time they handed me the wrong order entirely. I don't normally put up a fuss, it was still hot dogs, so I started eating anyway; I was hungry. Then they came back hoping to swap it for the correct order instead of having to make a new pair of hot dogs for the other person. I got way too many hot dogs that night and one set had mid toppings. Moral of the story: go ahead and let them know; you might make it easier for everyone involved. I forget what happened the second time but I think they forgot part of my order, everything else was in the bag so I just had to ask and then wait for it. I haven't eaten there since. So for this reason, I think that might've been an actual pastry, maybe something off the breakfast menu since you said that's all you left out, or perhaps somehow the person who delivered it got some other order from an entirely different place mixed up in the bags lol. Edit: saw other people comment why it's sweet and that it's the onion rings after all. I learned something new!
