A friend of mine has a similar product and she takes it with her on the many camping outings she and her daughter go on. I've gone on a few and must say, this doesn't have to stop at just pizza, you can take a small sheet tray, and oven cook bacon, eggs, toast, hot-pockets, or anything you can easily cook in a regular oven! It's not the cheapest product, but its not overly expensive either, especially to those who camp, they'd use it all the time! After using it, it truly is a must-have for our woodsy outings!
Starts at 249, if you’re a backer. That doesn’t include the pizza cutter or the bamboo pizza peel (it does come with a SS peel though). Says that’s 38% off MSRP. I haven’t done the math
@@steakwilliams4448 That's quite tolerable. I know nothing about pelletized fuel. It's a concept that seems acceptable upon the composition of fuel. They reward is knowing you controlled the entire process, and that is priceless. It's reminiscent of how the Kelley Kettle evolved.
@once_upon_a_time in_a_land_far_far_away Time has clearly demonstrated you are correct. I have seen and heard so many positive reviews about the air fryer that my initial doubts have all been for naught. I also had to admit that frying everything in deep fats yields nothing but artery clogging low density lipids The only reason I don't currently have one is due to my being such a miser. I thought I'd wait until after the holidays. Also, I've put out enough hints that Mrs. hopefully has one hidden somewhere to present during the pagan baccanalia of romance known as Valentine's day. Fingers crossed.
At first I thought this was a different RU-vidr with the whole actually putting effort into a cooking at home video. I mean usually when it's Greg at home it's just him throwing a slice of bread into an air fryer and calling it a day.
@@Koji-888 Apparently you are the one who is new here. Let me explain the joke... because that always makes humor better. We're talking about a guy who makes his living eating fast food and has the cooking skill level of a teenager living with his parents.... he's not exactly offering up tons of "pro cooking tips" on this channel, so it's surprising too see him actually putting effort into a video. Because if by "keeping it simple" you mean you need tips on how to melt cheese on a piece of bread or microwaving a frozen burrito...then yes, that's definitely keeping it simple. lol.
true, you can fill the wood bit up and it will burn for quite a while i found, but yes, the stone doesn't seem to heat right up enough to crisp the base
Hahahahaha look! More surf board parts! 😄 I want one! Looks fun! What's it smell like? (Although i see future law suits if they don't make it safer on the heat)
Well i would have to say Greggo never worked in a warehouse his unpacking skills leave a lot to be desired!! Heck he dont seem to own a stanley knife either he opens boxes with scissors haha
You could also cook some marinated chicken or steak in it which would taste great smoked up. Looks like more cooking vids coming up yummo. Thanks Greggo
Greggo i think its a good idea that you make ur own dough, it makes all the difference and making it is pretty easy especially if you have that heavy duty equipment of urs ;)
600 to 800 degrees Fahrenheit is the range you want essentially. Reminds me of the dome brick ovens I used at MOD pizza. I was cooking up to to 13 pizzas at a time. I like the the one you have though, thinking about grabbing one
At first I was skeptical, but then I added petrol as per Grego's recommendation, and now I have a beautifully cooked pizza that smells like singed eyebrows.
A nice little gadget that even pop up pizza food trucks and pizza market stalls can use. Also looks very good to use for camping. I wonder whats the best optimal temperature for cooking a pizza
Damn it Greg'o. You didn't heat test it with your fingers as you usually do. What a brilliant idea this is. I'm sold. However it'll be a next year purchase. I'm pretty sure you had it a bit hot though. Embers cook better than flames. Keep at it tweaking the method and do another video sometime later. Thanks for posting your review. Cheers old son.
I commend you sir on using a decent amount of tomato sauce on your demonstration pizza. I'm always disappointed at how little sauce people use, but you did not withhold the sauce. That oven looks cool!! If they sell them for less than $150 USD (guessing that's probably low), I want one!!
Nice one GregO and the pizza 🍕 does look the goods... I reckon it’d go well with homemade pizza bases, if they’re you’re thing... agreed, missing pineapple but looks like ya had it more under control this time then when Brian was over... cheers Gibbo
Been making wood fired pizza since 1987 your pizza stone was not hot enough the dough looks Raw on the bottom. Just cuz the oven thermometer said that it was 700 degrees doesn't mean that the pizza stone was the same temperature.
A thousand °F is ludicrous. I assume it couldn't really get that hot. 700something °F ought to be enough for a really quickly cooked pizza! The machine looks a little flimsy but seems to work well!
Thought this would be an Aussie innovation but unfortunately not, like the idea but @ $250 + $70 USD shipping no thanks. Think I'll take another posters suggestion and fire up the ole Smokey Joe :p
You might as well have put a slice of tip top bread with tomato sauce and a kraft single in there. I'm sure it wouldn't be a bad thing to have in the backyard with the proper ingredients
Who ever gave this a thumbs down gonna have been blind and just listening otherwise you got some haters grego and u need give em some pie in there faces them ruddy haters where do they come from
If you don't use your own dough the review is pointless, that's what those ovens are for. The wood fire gets up to an intense heat, which is what the classical italian style pizzas need to get that bubbly / blackened crust you get in those neopolitan restaurants. A piece of pita bread just ain't doing it justice mate!!!! Go buy some premade dough and try it again
