Let's Try: Wingspan - A Beautiful Strategy Card Game about Birds 

In the video I was confused about the "bird feeder" area. It's a SHARED area for all players, not something that each player has an individual pool to feed from.

This is a really interesting game, I wouldn't mind seeing more on the channel.

Bought the table top version this year. No regrets. One of the best buys I have made. Such a beautiful and educational game. So replayable too!

I love this game one of my favorites if not the top board game ever in my personal opinion. I mostly play it as a board game with the Europe extension though. I think about buying the Oasien extension too. One thing that is not very clear in the PC version for me: The rounds get fever each round because you place one of your cubes to mark your place on the round leaderboard at the end of each round. So -1 turn per round. The bird feeder is for everyone. If you leave three rodents the next player to get food can just decide to reroll (ok you explained this in your comment I just leave it here anyway). If something says:" you can lay an egg into a specific nest type" You can use it to lay an egg into your wild card nests. Which is good for e.g. this last round goal. Also my favorite strategy in this game: I Try to play only for two lanes. So leave either forest, fields, or sea open until later but try to get birds that do the things you would get in this lane with birds. For example, you later got 3 food from the fields lane. If you have things like this relatively early, you can basically skip the forest area for food and get more with each round (food and eggs in one turn). Sry if this sounds wiseacre in any kind I just wanted to share some insights. Great video though and I would love to see more in the future.

I played this on Tabletop Sim with friends during the pandemic! Lots of fun! My friend got the physical game but due to lockdowns we couldn't actually get together to play it

I bought it on the switch to play with my wife and friends! Great game. Lots of different strategies to build up your points

The late bird plays were sub-optimal for total points unless it also triggered bonus points. You spent 2 eggs (2 pts) to play a bird worth 4-5 pts to net 2-3 points. With that turn you could have gotten at least 4 points per turn in egg points given your various activation combos.

I’ve been playing Wingspan for a few months now, and it is a great game to get into if you want to play a short round! Also love how flexible builds are and the inclusion of information/bird facts!

15 bucks for 7 games on Humble right now. MUST BUY. I played it for 8.6 hours last night. There is a learning curve to it. So, don't be frustrated.

This is indeed a beautiful game. I own the official Tabletop Simulator module and love playing it with my friends.

@Quill18 I also got into this game via the official steam version before buying the physical, something the virtual version doesn't convey as well is you start with one of each resource and then can choose to trade them in for the bird cards. If you look at it like that it is a bit more logical. Also you are supposed to choose your bonus card at same time I think so it is usually recommended to look at those first to help guide your first bird choices. While I do like the game, I should mention that the steam version has a few draw backs, one of which is when playing with a full game the AI can be extremely slow even on gaming machines. Also as you noticed in your game it is VERY buggy at times and the devs rarely (if ever) do any bug fixes. I would recommend looking into playing this game on Table Top Simulator if you want to play with friends.

Wait what did happen to those eggs? The undo didn't go back into the egg-laying phase. But they disappeared anyway. Am I missing something or is the undo button just buggy?

Definitely got screwed on the undo. Had 1 on the Bunting, 3 on the Egret, 1 then a 2nd on the Osprey then spent 1 for the food and took it from the Osprey. Should have left you with 5. Undid it and re-did it all again, and ended up with 1 on the Raven instead of 5.

Wingspan is a lovely game. Easy to pick up and offers some great engine-building gameplay.

This game is awesome, physical board game i mean, havent tried the digital version still but i plan to get it. There is a cupon for digital version inside the physical one.

Still hoping you'll play Across the obelisk, it's SUCH an underrated game and right up your alley.

I was wondering if you were going to play Wingspan. Love the game but know that the lack on direct confrontation isn't for everyone.

Played the physical copy of the game some 10 or so times. And I don't really like the game for the ONLY reason that your engine (or personal board) can be really good at the end of the game and other times you will have 6 cards at the end of the game on your board. It really is luck dependant on how large you can grow, and I don't like that uncertainty.

I was interested in this, but it has no expansions. I have the boardgame, with both expansions, and i don't think i could play just boring ass base game again. Played it too much, and the oceania board is so much better.
