Wild animals wearing makeup, domestic animal prefers his domestic home, leopards are good predators and hyenas are bad predators, animals finding safety from bees in a mining shaft, and lots of lewd animal scenes. Nice PETA, I definitely see and understand your message.
Know now why Peta loves this film. I love how chaotic and suggestive innuendo there is. You found a gem that is memeable. I only wish the full live stream was uploaded.
Cheetahs don’t live in nuclear family units like that. They’re also missing the classic tear stain markings unless they’re supposed to be leopards or jaguars in which case the spots are wrong (cheetahs have black dots while leopards and jaguars have different versions of rosettes) and they still don’t live in nuclear family units……
OH MY GOD I remember my stepdad geting a bunch of red box movies for my 5 year old sister to watch in the car during a long ass trip and this was one of them!! I was 16 at the time and in the back with her, I stopped it as soon as that bird pulled the camera
I seriously thought this movie was like a random memory I had as a kid! There are times where I randomly sing the first song (which honestly is not that bad it’s kinda catchy!) and people ask me where it’s from and I use to say “I don’t remember” but after watching your reaction to this with Richi it just made my brain go all the way back to when I first saw this!
5:15 Nah, screw Warhammer. Those things are just a bunch of the insane Hexus machines from Ferngully. Just "giant thing to destroy as much nature as possible".
I remember coming across this movie by accident and thinking this is probably one of the weirdest things I’ve watched in a while I had actually forgotten about it till I saw that you were doing this movie and all I could remember was the monkeys wanting to go to war!!!! And how weird the music was
I’ve been waiting for someone to talk about this movie for a long while. Ngl, the one part I enjoyed was Bajrangi and Alex’s dynamic. It was genuinely funny at times.
This movie is actually pretty good in my opinion. I mean it is sad and dark but I did watch it a lot when I was younger. So I'm just here for nostalgia. Thanks for reminding me of this movie dude. 🥲Also Rishi is a great friend to you.
when i was a wee child, i would buy this from the red box movie rental and i'd watch it over and over which is something i'd usually do with rented movies because i'd only have it for one day. looking back on it now makes my head hurt, it's so fucking crazy
I saw this movie as a kid and was obsessed- I told my teacher about it in like third grade during an animal science/protect nature unit and was like, “we should watch it in class!” I had forgotten about all the guns 😭
The thing with these type of movies with a big wild life needs protection message is that it’s not impossible to care for the animals and put blame on the humans for what happened, but it goes in an incredibly unrealistic direction as per usual when it comes peta and it’s preaching. People don’t stop their cars to gang up on dangerous wild animals, they can’t talk to humans or wield weapons. The writing just comes across as incredibly biased with no actual understanding as to why these these things really happen.
Could be a cultural difference. It is a bit weird tho since India is one of those countries that, if a wild animal kills a human, they just accept it as nature. They don’t go hunting down the offending animal to kill then cuz they’re a danger to humans, which is common in the west.
Trying to pull heart strings like Disney, emulate the spirit of Dirty jokes that went over our heads as kids like Dreamworks, and deliver a message like our dear Ferngully. Failed and succeeded at the same time lmao
I’m pretty sure my brain block this movie from my memory cus as I’m watching this I’m thinking, “Why does this movie feel so familiar” and as I’m watching more of it I realize “Oh I’ve definitely seen this before” cus some of these scenes, characters, and music feel very familiar
THIS IS ACTUALLY NOSTALGIAC FOR ME I REMEMBER WATCHING THIS AS A KID WTF i think I liked it when I first saw it lmao. tbh the main character doesn't even look bad but man any monkey character in this movie is so weird lookin. Didn't know Peta was involved which is unfortunate but makes sense lmao.
This one reminds me of the German movie "Konferenz der Tiere" or animals United as it was named in englisch. I had to watch it twice cause the first time my school went to see it and the second time cause my little brother wanted to see it I remember almost nothing cause it was so boring. I only know that norm of the North is kinda close in concept by the African animals also trying to stop a hotel being build on their territory and them even going to New York in the finally (Another funfact: the book it's based on was recommended to disney decades ago, but they declined cause it's too political)
I remember seeing this movie thanks to a redbox dvd my parents got thinking it was a fun silly animal adventure movie and the scene of the dad dying has never left my memory since
I remember renting this movie from the Redbox and watching it as a kid and it was so damn BORING and weird. I hated it and I didn't even know peta made it. I was wanting to recommend it to you for a long while but I forgot the name of it. Damn I forgot how ugly the animals were in it
I loved this as a kid lol, songs were bops. The rest......nostalgia eins out, I still love it despite its flaws. Except those monkey designs. Those can burn in 3d model hell
Oh my God, I watched delhi Safari when I was a kid I've got to admit, even though I have a soft spot for underrated movies, this movie is very very weird
Ain’t no way I remember this movie ☠️ I watched this when I was like 5 or 6 (I think) and I’d watch it over and over like it was the best movie in the world, discarding all the adult jokes.
Hmm. Honestly, probably against them. They'd probably say that furries skinned animals to make those suits. (Then dyed it for those more brightly colored suits.)
PETA sponsors a movie where a leopard gets shot in the first few minutes okay? I think it’s a leopard with how chaotic the movie is I’m not really paying much attention to the specifics
Fun fact, to tell the difference between a leopard and jaguar is to tell how big and coloring of the parts on the body Leopards have small head and smaller rosettes (spots within spots) and longer tails and more skinny body figure Jaguars have more muscle to its body and a shorter tail and and large rosettes (spots within spots) and large head
Hate how the "Female Design" kinda makes the front profile of the mama leopard look smushed in while papa looks normal. Why couldn't they make a more natural headshape and keep the eyelashes?
I think the flamingos were my favorite part of this movie lol (Although i think this video was shortened after it was streamed so you only see them for a quick moment at like 18:50)
If the monkey had his way this could’ve been exponentially more impactful because then they could’ve taken the artistic choice that unicorn wars did, but peta must’ve thought that would’ve been too cruel to make people forget they’re hypocrites
I’ll admit, I liked this movie as a kid, and even now, I don’t think it’s the worst thing ever. Sure, the plot is extremely tacky, some of the designs are uncanny as hell (Alex’s being the most notable), and the movie is brimming with chaotic nonsense. But it does have some upsides. For one, the musical numbers are decent (mostly). I sometimes find myself humming to the Flamingos’ song. And all the craziness in the film makes it oddly enjoyable. The monkey grabbing Alex’s throat, The bees forming into military aircraft, Literally any of the interactions between the bear and the monkey, The obnoxious designs of the construction vehicles, Alex screaming at the hyenas, Not to mention all the sexual innuendo and the references to gun violence (how was this a kid’s film again?). I’d say if you can look past the forced message and the cheap animation, give it a watch. It will give you a good laugh, or keep you on your toes at the very least.
