Join us for more experiments, trial and error and a bit of undoing and redoing as we try to work out how to show off our feature "nooks" to the best of our ability.

I would definitely be tacky and put miniature furniture and scenes in those nooks. Adorable either way

It looks beautiful!! Your persistence and patience paid off. What wonderful offset lights and peek holes into the interior wall. I am in awe of your skills, both of you. Good luck on the rest of the projects you will tackle in the future.

Wonderful job on the nook lighting. The switch orientation thing is europe wide. It is actually considered safer. before rocker switches, the toggle switches were also up for on. If you want to turn something off in a hurry, the natural action is to swipe down.

Use a RGBW LED with a dimmer. Tunable light so you can choose the Lumen temperature. Comes in a bulb or tape or rope. If you use tape you can hide it surrounding the opening. Or put the light in the back and use a frosted acrylic pane in front of it. With the Red Green Blue and White you can change to any color.

Personally, I would have placed semi translucent chunks of agate or chalcedony to hide the lights. That way the inside could be finished with the lime and hemp to seal it and refract light. You also have to think of how to change those bulbs when they blow. Excellent work!

I would try a "nest", or a loosely balled-up string of tiny Christmas lights in each hole; maybe in an amber color? Just to see how that works out. This might save you having to "finish" the inside of the hole.

To hold the bulb and hide the cables maybe make a small l shaped wood section. Cut a hole in the backstand to hold the bulb and this will also hide the cables. If you paint it white it will basically make it invisible
