The first part of a series were I'll have some fun creating a track that's typical for a specific time frame. In part one I'll create a trance track as you would have heard them in the clubs in the late 90's.
In the video I'm using my old battle scarred Yamaha CS1x, Dexed, Super 7, the Roland SH-101, JV-1080 and TR-909 plugins and last but not least the Korg M1.

Wow, normally when I watch someone saying they are making "Classic 90s trance", it still ends up sounding like trance from 2005. This track actually sounds like the progressive trance made around 1997. Amazing job👍I would pay money for a release like this.

@CodeLyokoFan2002 Yes, trance style changed over the years. It become more and more a mass product. The so called "anthem trance" with the Super Saw type lead and the female vocalists was so popular. That was not bad, but it lost it's own diversity. There is a german word for this era "Mädchen-Techno".

@CodeLyokoFan2002 I don't think Trance is completely dead. It is just not as popular as 10 years ago. It doesn't bother me. I prefer trance music to be more underground than mainstream. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PYi2HpzOJt0.html

@Estuera
@Estuera 3 года назад
I sure will. Although I'm usually quite fast in writing new music, these videos require a lot of listening and researching the specific genre to make sure it's true to the actual sound. For trance, house and rave this was a lot easier as I have been and still am producing these styles myself. Some others will be more of a challenge. But they will come for sure ! A lot of fun to create these and the reactions are great :)

There should be a parody of trance by having a music video with a bunch of guys with briefcases being chased by a bunch of agents with glasses while having the DJ just look into the distance. (4/5/2021) I think it should start out as one brief case guy and one agent and then the number of each increases as the video progresses.

Wow. This really brings back memories. I used to make trance back in the 90’s with a friend. We ran Cubase on the Atari ST, eventually moving to PC. Both had studios and between us we had a 2 x JV1080s, a Yamaha CS2X, Kawai K1, Roland D110, Akai S950, Akai S3000XL, Novation Bass Station, Yamaha TX81Z, Oscar, and a Roland MC202, and a Morpheus I think. Running through either an old Sec Desk or later a Behringer Eurodesk and into a pair of PMC Monitors. Had some outboard FX too. Great fun times.

This track took me back for a moment, so for that.. I thank you x
