Here's the problem: it's not possible that you don't know this, but those "statues coming down" he's singing about are Confederate monuments, which were erected in the 1930's as a statement AGAINST civil rights. That's why people want to take them down now. I know this because he showed a Confederate statue in the video.

Springsteen is a patriotic common man. He actually cares about the common people, something Democrat policies have highlighted for decades. There was no pretending there. But this song? This has "anger pander" written all over it. Completely disingenuous.

He is not anti-American. He's more pro-American than Trump. Think of what the right wants to do to the working class.

@@Prozak63 no, I've just been paying attention to the care and love Springsteen has had for this country for his entire career, compared to the callous and cynical gaming of the system that Trump has pulled off to pull the wool over your eyes.

I can appreciate your answer. Please give us all examples of his "care and love" for the country as well as examples of him being more Pro America than Trump. Also, list the ways Trump has been cynical and gaming "The System." Sidenote: The system is very flawed and meant to be that way. Now, as a 60 year old man who was born and raised right there near Long Branch, NJ, where Bruce was born and raised, I was a huge fan of Bruce for many years. He had a massive following. Many were conservatives whom his patriotic songs resonated with. When did he lose such a large portion of his fan base? How could he have and why? It was in the early 2000s when he did what so many foolishly do. He stopped being an artist and brought his political views into his fans' lives. His dislike for Bush was so great that he started backing John Kerry publicly and at his venues. Add in his public support for Obama while down talking conservatives and Republicans and explain how he expected to not make his fans turn away from him. See, you're comparing what was supposed to be an entertainer with someone that is a politician. Looking forward to your examples and rebuttal.

@Zak first off, I'd just like to say that I respect all of your experience in this country, and I'm sure you have very valid reasons for holding the beliefs that you do. My opinion in this matter is that any system that is DESIGNED to be FLAWED and work against the benefit of the American public is a bad system, inherently. Typically, when we look at the democratic platform, it seems to be more in favor of the general support of the working class, with access to Healthcare, education, and wellfare systems. Now, if you don't believe that those policies are the best for the people due to their high tax burden, that's your prerogative. However, Springsteen seemed to believe what I do. His support for these Democrat candidates was driven by an intense love for America, and the American people. He wanted these systems in place to help as many people as possible. And, as a high profile American, he thought that his platform was best used promoting that general goodwill. Trump, on the other hand, is motivated, in my opinion, solely by money. He operated his administration based on fear and anger, as shown in his constant shuffling of advisors and departments. He also removed many systems that were helping the working class and poverty stricken, such as Obama care. Now, I understand that the left has ignored the rural white communities in their outreach for far too long, I'm not arguing with you about that. But Trump's support of those communities is entirely lip service. He's never lived in the country a day in his life, and doesn't foster any programs helping those communities. He says he's for you, but he's not.
