My favorite thing about this band is they make me feel patriotic for a country I'm not even from 😂😂

Just to put clear things up the 40 men didn't hold the advancing Germans for 18 days. The 18 days refers to Belgium itself as it turned what was supposed to be a 10-day campaign into an 18-day campaign. But the 40 men (referred to in the song) held off the multiple German divisions for a staggering 6 hours, with their strongest weapons being two grenade launchers. If we were to lowball the total number of German forces at the battle, the Belgians were still outnumbered SEVENTY-FIVE to ONE and they still managed to hold the line for 6 hours.

It is after all said and proven many times that an army fighting on their own country's soil fights twice as hard as the invaders do

I love this song and erwin rommel himself respected the Belgium forces for their bravery and the boar against the Eagle was the Belgium regiment flag for that unit had a boar on it and the nazi eagle was on the flag of Germany as well as the swastika also i recommend watching sabaton history channel they go in depth about the history and a little about the song itself

Livgardet was supposedly begun in collaburation with the swedish royal guard celebration as an tribute to them turning 500 years old but some politican stop it. They still made it without them of course and made a great song

Great reaction to an awesome song that gets too little attention IMHO. I have the upmost respect and admiration for both the soldiers who stood against terrible odds and did not submit and for Sabaton whose music is keeping their tales alive.

The music video gives a bit more of the background. Back then they would treat PTSD with highly addictive drugs. Murphy locked himself in a hotel room for a week to get over his addiction. As for the whistle, it's a tribute to him becoming a star in wester movies. His son actually loves this song because its the first non country song made about him.
