Dire here is some feature we need in Laser io 1) make the card holder hold the filters and overclockers 2) make an empty crafting slot in card holder for quick reset
One thing for the sensor mode. I think over all it’s great, however instead of exact mode it might be more useful to make it a greater than, less than, equal system
It took me nearly a month, but I'm finally caught up :) this is my first dire series I'm watching, and loving it! Incredible how consistently you can put out content!
Hey Dire, I know it's still early days for LaserIO but I think it would be neat if there were tooltips for the various buttons inside the cards, the stuff they can do gets very complex! A more involved system would be something like PneumaticCraft's side tabs, peharps an "Info" tab with the current card's mode (Extract, Insert, Retrieve etc.) and a "Warning" tab (for instance, trying to retrieve without a filter). Either way, keep up the great work!
LaserIO Controller in the works? A block you can connect to a laser network to remotely access any node in that network, so you don't have to dig them up every time you need to change something. Love all the new stuff coming out for it. I thought the Redstone card was going to be the pinnacle, but then you gave us sensors and it just blows my mind. I'm addicted to putting lasers everywhere now. Does this thing I'm doing need a laser? Some may say no, I'll always say yes!
I hope we also get Mekanism gas transfer support soon. It is kinda frusturating to connect everything up with nodes and tubes just to transfer gases. Also maybe cover/facade feature so you can hide the node and the lasers that come out of it.
Should we start a pool on whether or not Dire remembers to replace that block he broke a few seconds before the end, or if he'll forget it, allowing mobs to escape his kill box?
intresting thing is sensor mode makes good fail safe as this means blood altar always has 5 buckets worth of blood if goes less due crafting or ritual then sensor mode red stone card immediately trigger mob farm and make sure you never drop under 5 buckets of blood
By the same logic OR is also + in discrete math, while and is X. I feel like Dire needs to pick a system that uses AND and OR and stick to it. Discrete math with the plus and the cross could work, could also do the logical symbols of diagrams
@@LethalLuggage He could also just spell it out for those not into the mathematical symbolism. I also thought "Pause" and didn't even think about the double-pipe, which I use in 'Nix-land all the time.
You could also add a proxy card and block to laserIO which would allow you interact with the proxy block as if it were the original block. Would solve your "Problem is a block only has 6 sides" comment from years ago and also allow for very clean builds. Proxy Block would be linked to laser network and then a card bound to it. That card in a node would extend the functionality of the target block to the Proxy block where you could then push/pull items/fluids/power/redstone. Also make it go boom if you put the proxy card to target a proxy block
the mob killing is my favorite start for blood magic, follow up with that sacrifice ritual later on and you become powerful on mob blood. Never injure yourself again.
that mob teleporting plan sounds like potential for some epic server lag. If you tp the mobs away from the cursed earth, they probably just keep spawning even if they dont get killed at their destination
Glad that you're going to be using mobs for LP this time around. Much more efficient than using your own health! I like to put the sacrifice ritual stuff under the alter with some cursed earth and a muffler.
The sensors look pretty cool. 👍 Are you thinking about setting up an external storage for the blood? And then use the sensors to regulate the amount of blood in the altar to always keep it at a specific level?
honestly ive always just made a drawer limited to a stack for each slate tier and just had them fill up and use a storage controller + storage bus. I could never figure out a good way to craft them on demand.
I'd recommend instead of relying of Regeneration, look at something that does heals automatically, that way you're not waiting for things to percolate through.
Self-sacrifice is easily circumvented with a ritual later in blood magic, and that's automatable too. Easier to just grind until you get to that point, then automate tbh
Don't think fans would be needed. Just have 1 big portal covering the farm. Probably need to test to see if the portal can be controlled with redstone.
Laser IO for 1.19.2 has a bug where the units aren't visible in counting filters when used in a fluid sensor. It makes them pretty much useless for their designed task unless you want exactly 1 bucket's worth.
Possibly. But Blood magic has (Or at least had in the past) a mechanic that caps the speed at which one can pump life essence in and out of the alter. It could be upgraded to pump faster, but it's not really useful to try and input liquid life essence until you've upgraded it.
We need a mod with a villager that has an extreme amount of health or regeneration, that will stab himself once in a while, next to the altar with the right knife XD
Dire: i made laser io to make things simple like ender io did Also Dire: i don't want to add AND, OR and NOT into my mod because i feel like you should need to add a complex set of nodes somewhere just to do that task.
I get the want for other mods to handle redstone logic, but your simple and gate just used 3 nodes and 3 redstone cards to do red & not blue = black. you could have used one node with some redstone wiring, but still need 3 cards, they aren't prohibitively expensive but can be annoying to craft in bulk without RS or AE or something equivalent.
if this is what I think Dire is saying this is I will be a tad annoyed........I spent an hour getting my Blood Magic automation going using a Entangled block, a comparator and LaserIO redstone....and it works well so ...to late Dire
"people ask why laser io can't do the redstone logic, and it's because i want laserio to do just the basics." proceeds to develop laserio to do literally everything EXCEPT redstone logic. this is... illogical. at this point i'm also wondering why the node even needs to be next to the block. i mean, it's beaming the stuff through empty space between nodes, why can't it beam straight into a machine? it can already beam stuff into the opposite side of a block, too... i don't think it's much of a stretch to be able to have a few blocks between the node and its destination. just let the limitation be how many cards you can fit into one node.
