Yes, but adding checkpoints and adding animation of breaking the lattice (so that there are no misunderstandings in the form of her teleportation) will make it perfect
Delight kept teleporting to their faces when she got closed by a gate is the scariest thing i see when you turn around and turn back shes infront of you
I watched AstralSpiff's playthrough first and her teleporting through a closed gate directly in front of him was the only jumpscare to get me the whole chapter LOL, scared the life outta me
I prefer her light behavior. Not only is it a nod to the statues mini-game from the previous chapter, but it’s also a mechanic that hasn’t been done in a while if not ever.
I'm not sure why, but weeping angels are almost always terrifying, no matter how many games there are where you face one, they never seem to stop being scary
One of the coolest and most rewarding part of Poppy Playtime is that unlike most horror games you don't just run away from the scary creatures but you actually get them killed and that sweet feeling of payback is one of the best parts of this game
Best part of chapter 3. It's understandable but also too bad that they had to tone her down, because she and her environment were clearly built around the design of electricity outage.
@@leonkuwata5254 This video literally explained that tho. People who played the earlier access (before the nerf) got the light sensitive version of Ms. Delight.
Although I do like weeping angel/SCP173/Coil Head kind of monsters, I think her moving according to the light flickering is a little more unique and terrifying, because your demise might be a light flicker away.
The Catnap nightmare is about psychological fear, miss Delight is about the fear itself (be chased), and Dogday is about fear of tragedy. Is impressive they went about all 3 most important things on a horror game
she really did, even if you're not scared by horror games you are still constantly getting uncomfortable in her chase because she can just pop up behind you if you slack off a little, not to mention that the school is very dark so sometimes you just don't know where she is
Yeah. And in a sense, you CAN'T see her when she is in the darkness anyway. So for her to be able to move when she is in the dark despite of you looking at her is actually still make sense. And it's more scary that way. For a horror game, the scarier it is, the better lol.
While I do think only being able to move when you’re not looking is a cool mechanic, it’s started to become a little overdone in recent games. Which can make it become old fast. The lights meanwhile are unpredictable with the constant flickering and indeed add to the tension, making it nearly impossible for players to plan ahead and strategize. Essentially forcing them to act in instinct. It also provides a good enough gap for players to take advantage of in getting distance while also giving Miss Delight plenty of opportunity in catching up so that when you finally activate the sequence that kills her, it doesn’t glitch too badly. I know she speed teleports from further down the hall, but at least with her hot on your heel that’s the worst it’s gotten. Rather than having the issue of her teleporting from another room that was out of sight which would’ve removed the tension all together as fans would no doubt have made fun of the bug. Glad the devs took the time to polish this game before it’s release.
I guess I can see why she were a developers favorite character. Her lore on her characters decline of even more insanity after the Hour Of Joy is both nightmarish and sad. And the chase scene and jumpscares truly terrifies me
I prefer when she moves only when you don’t look at her. It’s a hundred time more simple, like when you’re stuck in a corner you still have a chance to get yourself out of this situation. When she moves only in the dark, you can’t control her, it’s really hard. But for me she’s the most creepy and horrible boss in the game. The sound of her footsteps, the way she laughs and breathe, and HER FACE MAN, why would she have a smile in meat and teeth under her fake smile in plastic ? Developers made a really good job for the third chapter, I really don’t feel like playing Poppy Playtime, but a whole other game. The graphics and lore are better, there are more bosses, and it really looks like an horror game, not a childish game like chapter one. She scares tf out of me definitely the worst boss of the game.
Miss Delight moving in the dark is actually more terrifying, the time rate of her moving is fast that it won't literally make you rest. The weeping angel concept is scary but you get to calm yourself or prepare your mental by staring at her.
Personally, I prefer the light flickering mechanic more. First, it's more uncommon and original than the already common "move when no one see it" mechanic. Second, it's feel more terrifying and realistic when you can see it get closer to you instead of it accelerates real fast when you are not looking at it. Juking her with desk and room also feel better than just encircling her as maintaining our look on her. It feels more thrilling
While I think the light based mechanic is more unique I can see why they changed it to a sight based mechanic instead. It feels fairer to me given the size area you’re working in.
most of the men: *having panic attacks and screaming at first sight and then some* Most of the girls: *both interested in the caharcter, get close, sassy, and only shout when she jumpscares and gets angry about it." ...I see a pattern here.....lol
I don't understand why the developers even bothered with gates if Delight can just phase through them. The gates don't even serve as checkpoints; you have to start over regardless of where she catches you.
3:43 I noticed this too on one youtuber with the early access, Miss Delight also moves when the lights are out. But when I watch other youtubers Miss Delight only moves when the player isn't looking at her. That's why I'm confused why on some other gameplays it's inconsistent, and I thought it was a bug In my opinion I prefer when she also moves with the lights are out so it would be more challenging
I prefer her early access mechanism not only easier, it was the same mechanism in the trailer, even worst she instantly move or very fast compare her speed in Dawko, Ryan, Razz's video.
I personally think the weeping angel version is more fun to watch. It’s so stressful watching people play it 😅 I’m not massively into games though so I’m not too familiar with that game mechanic
This is creepy AF, but if you watch 5:58 you can see that even when she's not moving, her eyes follow you entirely! That's some nightmare fuel right there!
I'm so glad the updated version makes it where she can only move when you're not looking at her. This version interferes with how to escape from her, meaning, it's harder to get away.
The second one is like --- I'm like GIRL DONT DO THAT! When that creature suddenly stops, look at him/her/them and slowly walk fast backwards while also look around...
I actually quite like the combination of her only moving with lights out (might just be me but I think she was slower when we're looking at her while she's moving in the dark) and then having us to stare at her when lights are on to prevent her from moving.
notice in the first youtuber, Mrs. Delight only moves when the lights flickered off. That was her original form of moving, now it is when you aren't looking at her.
The weeping angel situation I feel is better not just for the horror aspect , I feel it kind of challenges the player with figuring out the puzzle while dealing with more of the urgency and dread of knowing she could be quickly moving towards them without seeing her and be close to catching them, instead of the danger with the light being more constant. I felt the same with the endos in security breach
Their not two different types she moves when line of sight is not given and the light is not on cause she can’t see your eyes on her when they are off, But when they are on she sees that she has your undivided attention Like a teacher so she doesn’t move Edit: Stay in the light and stay calm and look at her when she’s in the light
Finnaly someone explained how the encouter worked i saw several and though that some of them had a early access bug. Tha is waht i like and give a ,ike for that :D To be fair, the more terryfing and harder is the one with the moving while the lights flicker. Becouse you have little time for a breather. BuT it is only IMO.
I'm very surprised that Mob Entertainment was willing to provide a few checkpoints for the Mommy Long Legs boss and not a single one for Miss Delight, who's much more challenging than Mommy Long Legs. They even provided checkpoints for the area in the Playhouse where you have to place the large blocks on the vast buttons. Mob Entertainment should at least add one checkpoint during the Miss Delight boss when you enter into the area with the final gate that requires two batteries and the charged green hand to open it. By the way guys, I've made a youtube video about an interesting theory that the identity of the main playable character of the Poppy Playtime series is the character Stella Greyber. I explain why in the video. Feel free to check it out.
I just realized why even her kill freaked them out.. she had an animation of sliding.. which makes me wanna see a game where the monster isn't stopped so easily by the normal means.. like it slides under gates at last second, it pushes heavy boxes out of the way that fell between you two, and it just dodges distractions (ie you try to throw something in the dark to make noise elsewhere and it just ignores it) and you aren't saved by "plot convenience" or.. it doesn't feel that way.. like sure there would still have to be something to make it not hunt 100% of the time but some games have to just be "lol random locked door stopped it" despite it breaking through a door to start the chase sequence Another thing that would be funny is.. have a game where you "kill" the monster but it's still twitching.. and then punishes people who try to get too close, it would be scary to be like "yeah that's what you get! OH FUCK" I think I prefer the "only in the dark" because the "weeping angel" approach has been done to death and just that small change makes players have to pay more attention than "walk backwards most of the time" since now they *can* look around.. but also can have split seconds of planning when the monster is frozen..
Does poppy playtime also has difficulty selection? In SuperHorrorBro, Miss Delight moves fast. And most or few of these youtubers' Miss Delight waits like 5 seconds before moving. The third guy has a normal speed on...the first and second players have their miss delight move slow in terms of time Edit* I saw the explanation part.
