Sad thing is the denture cost $25 + labor. So a dentist 1k. + 1200, ya know. Overhead. Now implants. Bottomline, you drive that screw up in your jaw. 10k. Then you have to prey they do the particular job correctly
Would it be advantageous to have a 3 crown implant bridge that anchors 31 & 29 as well as 18 & 20 with a partial denture spanning the rest to increase bite force as well as general comfort with the mandible?
Is there snap on dentures that are made of Zirconia? Or is that not possible due to drilling the snap on locator housing on to the monolithic zirconia? Does it mean for all on 4 hybrid denture using zirconia, there are no hardware attached(mounted) to the zirconia prosthesis and only holes milled on the zirconia for the screws to be fastened?
I am in the process of getting snap in dentures. I wanted to back out, but the dentist insist on going through with it and pull 12 of my teeth. I now have an upper and lower arm bridge until the other 10. I also had four upper and four lower post put in. I was thinking about going with the permanent alarm for, but he does not offer it. I’m getting really discouraged..
Can you give advice/comment on going from the snap on to all on 4 implants? I am heading to the final phase for snap on. Pins not uncovered yet. Temporary's are horrible! Just recently reached out to a different dental office in order to see how complicated it would be to transition to all on 4. I was told that it is a little complicated, to say the least I guess. Appointment is on the 31st of January. Any advice?
I'm 73, I have recently got all on 4 implants removable lower denture. Upper 9 natural teeth are supported by plastic flexible partial dentures. I can eat comfortably now.
I am in the process of getting a full upper and lower implant overdentures. The price quoted to me was $ 32,000(after promos and discounts).. my insurance paid 50% and paid the other 50%. My question is can my implant overdentures be upgraded to a all on 4 fix dentures. I’ve been watching videos in RU-vid and this scenario is nowhere to be found. In your professional experience can it be done? How much if it can. I live here in California...
#1. whoever your insurance is, its amazing. only people i've seen with that type of coverage that would pay 50% of that with no max of $1500 or 2000 is probably those people working for UPS. #2. and yes, the implants can be used to upgrade to an all on 4 fixed prosthesis. however, the most important thing is the implants need to be deep enough to provide enough prosthetic space for your all on 4 prosthesis. this means your surgeon will need to reduce enough bone and place the implants deep enough that it can be upgraded one day. honestly if i were you, idk how much they charge for all on 4 out there but i'd go for that right off the bat instead of going with the overdentures. you'll save so much time and money and you'll never be nearly as satisfied with the overdentures as you will with the all on 4. seen so many patients that can attest the same.
@@northtexasdentalsurgery thanks for the reply doc.. yes I don’t have a good insurance.. federal blue cross/blue shield with no Max.. my dentist quoted me an all on 4 for 52k.. unfortunately I was not able to come up with 26k..lol.. Ill discuss the matter with my surgeon in my next visit. Thank you
there definitely can be problems with all on 4 if not done properly. there can also be problems with snap on dentures if not done properly. if both are done properly though, patients are way more satisfied with all on4 than snap on dentures.
failure rate is low as long as you're a non smoker throughout the healing proces and you're not an uncontrolled diabetic. also as long as your surgeon is good because implant placement is critical
I'm in Liverpool I'm having my jaw operated on and having the snap ons done i didn't ask. Maybe ask your dentist to send you to the local dental hospital to enquire xx
My dentist (which is also a family friend) told me i could get away with 2 implants at my lower canines for my whole lower denture, is that correct or is it always on 4 ?????? Thanks for the video !!!!
@@jimdean294 - absolutely. 100%. Dentists in the US aren’t interested in helping people (generalization based upon years of experience) they’re more into sales. Imagine if MDs functioned in this way.
@@kells4723 I think a lot of dentists are like that. Not just in the U.S. I do live in the U.S. myself but I go to the dentist in Mexico and they are absolutely awful at doing their damn job.
I just had these placed 4 on top 4 on the bottom a few days ago. Using traditional dentures while it heals and i HATE them. I realize I only had major oral surgery 3 days ago but I have only managed to eat a bowl of oatmeal in the time. I am starving and fear I will starve to death before i get my snap on overdenture. These dentures hurt so much. Is this normal? Will I be able to eat again before I get my final snap on dentures?
@@malloryk8013 my mom's dentist quoted her a top-set of snap in dentures for $7500, extractions included. Just depends on who you find and if they're willing to work with you 🤷♀️
@Augustine Hinman A dentist in Texas, near the dfw area when she was visiting a friend of hers for a few days. I'll have to ask to get the name, cause I'm gonna go there too 😂 I'm 28, but because of my health issues and continuous medicine use, my teeth are completely beyond saving. I'll be needing almost complete upper and lower implants.
So before I listen to you doc (you get what you pay for) I have personel stuff taken care of, you'll get your magnificent "3d scan" with all the issues. My question. If I (very important) want this snap on thing with the implant and out of the Zirconia material for my upper set. How long does the body (and jaw bone) deal with its material before rejection? Long story short. I'm getting older, especially my oral issues. Since I was old enough to take a leak, I've been in the chair. I just don't want to deal with it anymore.
3 on 6 isn't good if you have a high smile line. its very hard to get the gums to teeth transition to look good with the 3 on 6. its good for old people who can't lift their lips high
fixodent works great on some people but lets be real, if it worked that great dental implant supported dentures wouldnt be needed for anybody. reality is most people hate their dentures
@@northtexasdentalsurgery I concur, I am 2 weeks away from my getting my final overdenture. Been months of healing and then visits to take impressions. Had the snap in denture placed last appointment and it needs some final adjustment. But I already could tell I will get used to it a bit sooner and it will be a lot less intrusive and food will be more enjoyable. I used your channel to help with my decision btw.
All in 4 is your best deal when getting teeth, but what if you don't have e the finances to get them. So many people can't afford these prices, and it sucks to walk around without teeth.
My surgery is scheduled for the 27th of this month and the overall total price for all extractions, 8 implants, and final teeth is going to be nearly 15k out of my pocket after my insurance is maxed out. My insurance plan maxes out at 1500.
I'm paying 10k plus out of pocket in August to get top and bottom implants. Implants themselves were a little over 9k but will be having a specialized guard made due to my severe grinding while sleeping.
@@Mothershipmaher never even thought about me grinding my teeth while sleeping because i've been wearing a mouth guard for years because of how bad i grind my teeth. I definitely need to ask my dentist about a guard to protect my implants.
@@mogiehope8056 My implants are crowded in the center with none at the ends. they even left out the teeth at the ends of the denture to keep it short. That just leaves more room for food to get under the denture because they shift with very little bite pressure with no implants on the ends.
There are other ways to replace missing teeth. You get dentures that is eventually in year or so. I will be getting. My teeth were pulled four months ago. Get whatever you can afford now. If your financial situation improves. Later on you can get implants.
Money determines which one you get. The difference is thousands of dollars between one and the other. Basically, you get what you pay for. For me, my lower snap on was $24k. If I wanted a bar, it would have been $36k, and the fixed permanent would have been $54k. All just for the lower.
you dont mention HOW MUCH they cost and did she say she was your asistant?...if she did I dont like her doing most of the talking and niether should you if you really are in fact a dentist!.....
