Volvos are the best trucks my dad owns one and bought me one as well to start working , I’ll definitely be paying him back I just got my cdl a license I’m 21 years old and we got approved for Amazon relay
From listening to him, the home situation was what you was handling right. The wife complained you wasn’t home enough. When you was home to much it was a problem. I have and had that same situation. And you have kids. Stop letting her in ya pockets too. I stash and hide money because it happened to me before. I won’t go in detail, but seems like your doing great just guard ya self. We live in Texas, no win for men here. 😂😂😂
Good to see your updates Manny. Glad you’re still at it! Can I ask who you’re going through for insurance and how many companies did you go through before you found the best rates? Also, As per Amazon wanting a carrier to have Workers Comp, Ive asked 3 different insurance companies and they’ve all told me the same thing, that workers comp won’t apply to me since I’m the owner and operator, and don’t have at least $100,000 in payroll. What are your experiences? Thanks!
@@mannyactual Thank you for the clarification. I have had Progressive for a year now, and my renewal is coming up. So I am going to renew with the listed coverage requirements for AMZ.
You got a great deal on both those trucks! I also buy for cash at the auction so I am with you on the cash truck you can afford being the way to go. Hey maybe a dumb question but doing the local Amazon relay stuff do they require a eld. I am near Chicago and see shuttles going like 90 miles or less all the time but was wondering if they would require me to get a eld? If not would they just track me from my phone thru the app or something like convoy or Uber freight does?
Can you explain how you get those empty trailer moves? Are you booking one before you complete one? Trying to figure it out. I think the contracts have been rip offs for me. Run a contract and end up running for super cheap like 1.40/mile.
Let the loadboard update every 15 seconds. Update to 2 stops 180 mile radius.pay attn at evening and early mornings is when they start popping up. You can't overlap time it won't let you assign driver. That's a start.
If a contract ends on a Sunday, what will they pay? Do I still get full payment the following week or will it be in the current payment schedule which is thurs?
I had both happen where I finished early in day on Sunday and was paid on current pay schedule. And I also got paid the following week because the contract finished later in day on Sunday. Better be prepared for the following week.
My issues right now is i am paying $1,000 month renting out a 2022 trailer and 3% factoring 2% Dispatch Fee running at $1.75 Average Per Mile. Would you think it's smarter to run amazon ? What's your thoughts bro overhead is killing me with the trailer and fee's what would you do in my position?
Depends what ur over head is like. It's different for everyone. I been doing Amazon since January I tried everything else. It wasnt working so I sticked with it and it's working for me. What I make is consistent, local, and home everyday.
A plus about amazon is they pay direct deposit every week. No factoring needed. Also you can easily dispatch yourself. No fees needed there. The rates vary from what area of the country you are in. Most are pretty bad right now but so are the load boards in general.
This video is 6 months old. Amazon went through alot of changes. It's pretty hard moving empty trailers now. Amazon purchased alot of there own truck. It's cheaper for them to pay employees $700 week to move trailers during the day.
@@mannyactual thanks, one more question. I’m getting a day cab in a few weeks will I be able to make good money with Amazon if I’m using the load board no contracts and taking loads in the daytime?
Depends on location it varies. If you just got your authority, Amazon has a 6 month requirement before they add you. If your insurance is cheap and you have cash truck you can make it moving small loads.
Hey Manny, is there a phone number I can contact Amazon relay regarding onboarding for amazon relay? I been getting emails from them stating that they will give me a call regarding my application to confirm with them to be approved but I have not gotten a call in about 2 months.
@mannyactual btw for applying to amazon relay do I have to have their insurance requirements first before applying or will they let me know once I’m approved then I go get the insurance requirements ? I currently do not have the trailer replacement coverage when I applied.
