She's the new Freddy. He had a significant rework, his new version was considered quite strong and easy to play, then they nerfed him and he's one of the weakest killers now. They could have tweaked her to make her more interactive to the player and less of a burden to survivors, while keeping her strength mostly the same. Like decreasing the base rotation speed but have it briefly increase when you change the rotation direction in a burst of speed, encouraging players to use the change rotation speed mechanic more and less "put drone at loop, let it do it's thing". Clawtraped survivors could also have the Dissolution effect back to remove clawtraps prematurely at a cost, or let them decrease the clawtrap's battery life by hacking drones. Just something to make being clawtrapped feel less helpless. Idk I get changing her, but this just feels like the wrong way about it. They looked at the kill rates and just wanted to lower them opposed to dealing with the actual issues of the Killer, because there's no doubt a good portion of her kills were survivors giving up and not learning to counter her because "she's Skull Merchant".
@jzola3937 well, if this goes live, remember that there is a rework coming for her next year. Hopefully the rework makes her not only a balanced killer, but also a fun killer that keeps her identity! 💖

@@Pinkyc0rn332 Play Tiffany, she will avenge SM with the 10 seconds cooldown hidy ho, build in stealth and dash at them with slice and dice, can also easy mind game survivors. Can make crazy builds with Tiffany, franklin weave attunement combo with pain res and pop, rat poison and drill addon will make survivors lose their items and free wall hacking.

Honestly at this point all skull merchant mains should just become self made millonaires by putting ceo’s skulls on drones or whatever, girlboss their way into behaviour and gatekeep merchant to themselves, all of them know more about their favorite character than the devs do anyways.
Its funny cuz it solves nothing and only exists to make her a worse killer. When they answered on the AMA it sounded like they were gonna rework her and thats what she desperately needs, she needs her power to be less complicated and easier communicated so that people dont feel helpless against her, and something to make her gameplay more appealing for killer players. But no rework, she's just weaker now. That won't stop people ending themselves or dcing against her, cuz the game play loop is almost exactly the same as before, it just means that if people actually know and try to to against her theyll probably stomp her. The dc and going next will continue, but now her already low pick rate is gonna drop even more

Skull Merchant is already hated by survivors, and now the Skull Merchant killers might dump her as well ... what a way to kill off a character :( sadly.
Only thing imo that needed altering from her kit was the haste, just remove that alone because the rest of it was fine if you knew how to counter her. Haste on top of the slowdown/having to be mindful of being scanned mid loop just made it completely assinine to go against purely because of the haste.
Considering these changes are confirmed to be *temporary* I feel like the least they can do is buff her in other ways, like longer undetectable, faster rotation, stuff like that. However I need everyone to do 2 things after this: 1) PLEASE try the PTB and give back constructive feedback to try and get our voices heard 2) start reporting everyone who rage quits and DCs against you as skull merchant. If people wanna whine and rage quit and hate on you for liking her, make sure you report them because harassment, rage quitting, and “refusing to participate in regular gameplay” are all reportable offences and these haters deserve to be reported.

They have said that this is only a temporary stop-gap until they do they give her the full rework early next year. I want her to get a massive overhaul with the rework, but I don't know that this was needed in the meantime. This does help with some of the more annoying parts of her kit (namely the hindered and haste) and it pushes SM players to be more interactive with their drones to actually get value out of them, but with how rarely she was played I don't know how much this will do for people. Besides that, until a substantial rework of her kit happens I don't think that it is going to do much to make people despise going against her.
Yeah like she definitely needed either her haste or hindered removed, both is a lot. But still nerfing the remaining one, and to like half? What's the point of having her on the roster if fixing her just means nerfing her without even making her gameplay loop actually fun

Always active drones is basically a nerf as well, no more trap style drone placements using LoS to block view of it, god forbid survivors accidentally give merchant a 10 second wallhack and 1/3 of her power being lethal at all
@aidendavies4648 no she needed a rework. She's nowhere near as strong as nurse blight Billy spirit etc, but her power is complicated, not communicated well, and feels uncounterable to a lot of people. If they change her power so that it's easier for people to know her powers and counters, a lot of people who dislike her might actually be able to stand going against her. With these nerfs, her gameplay loop is still the same, so people will still dc and go next, but now she's crazy weak, so her already small pick rates gonna go down even more. This is gonna keep survivors who hate her happy for like a weak and then they'll release how they're still miserable versing her and we'll be back to square 1.

I very much disagree with you on the removal of Stealth Mode tbh. Setting up traps is just not a thing now anymore which was a very fun part for me. Survivors will see the scanlines ahead of time so placing them outside of loops or gens is kind of useless now.

Just read the changes, these changes are pure bullying from behavior and the people who arent interested in learning counterplay. Why dont we just disable her until rework at this point or make a mode without a killer alltogether for the crybabies? Payed 15euros for a killer i cant play.
Yeah they pretty much did the flex it tape on her and cut her in half Drones have a broken light now, so she only has the one light Hinders been cut in half Haste is now gone Here's the buff I can add to fix her a bit after the nerf --Pulling out the scanner doesn't slow her down now ( I don't know if it does, but if it does remove the slowdown) --Reduce the scan immunity by 40% (because it's only one light on the drones now, so the killer has too manually change it's direction to get value again so reducing the scan immunity will allow for some more offensive scans and can still be countered by crouching) --Add UI to show that you can't place the drone so you don't waste time trying to place just for it to go into cooldown instead. ---Decrease the cooldown of placing drones down by 35% ( So you're not just standing around for another drone) ---Increase the rotate speed of drones by 10% ---add line of slight only for survivors to see the ground radius of the scan and remove it from through walls to allow for surprised scans For future changes, add the ability for you to point a direction to sent the drone so it can scan and move now, move up to 32 meters and at 2 m/s speed, basically half a survivors run speed and increase rotate speed by 20% when moving, increase scan immunity by 100% ( basically before the buff to allow for survivors to react and not get doubled scanned at range, name it scout mode to move the drones around) I believe this will make skull merchant more of a dynamic killer that needs you to play around the one scan line as survivor and killer, removing the brain dead aspect and adding reaction and timing to play as and against skull merchant
It enrages me so much. BHVR acts like they have all the knowledge of what changes a killer needs, and act like these kinds of changes are supposed to be "good". Killers are just left neglected and some even got treated like absolute garage. Freddy being a Forgotten killer, The "Buffs" (which is just net-nerf and made him absolute braindead to play as) to trickster and now Skull merchant. Like, what Potent substance does these devs smoke?
I only started playing Skull merchant because I thought her masquerade event mask looked so good. I was shocked that she was so hated. As a someone that played way more survivor, I personally rather face skull merchant than well over half the killers on dbd. Sad about the nerfs I'm guessing was caused by all the hate.
I have to say 7% hinder works, good middle ground. What they could do is increase the undetectable for each clawtrap or, for each trap, could give a small buff to her action speed. Kicking, vaulting, braking, and picking up by 10%. And honestly, it isn't gonna stop the drones from taking off. Also, you look fine, better than what I look.

Yeah overall, they changed and removed a lot, but didn't give anything back to compensate for the removed stuff. Hopefully the changes get reverted, or at least get some new changes to compensate with what she lost.
They butchered my comfort character. Hopefully they fix it before it goes live but I’m still a little heartbroken. I’m squeezing Adriana’s hand very tightly.
These nerfs sound awful. But i haven't been playing much since TCM was released. I usually just watch you and Negoose for my dbd content. Sorry i can't give a better opinion
They only really nerfed her cuz she had EXTRAMLY high kill rates,If you know her counters she stills is strong but people would rather do ANYTHING then learn her counters

Just like her first rework where she was garbage they buffed her onto live into the state she is in rn. I am pretty confident they will buff her after the ptb but I am not confident in how they buff her

I say this as someone who enjoys Skull Merchant and loves her as a killer. There is literally no longer a point in this killer even existing in the game. BHVR is blindly nodding their heads to the stomping crybabies who hate her and refuse to learn her counterplay, and instead of trying to give her a stable rework, they gut her so badly that she's almost completely unplayable now. Just so the dbd anti-Skull Merchant crowd can finally shut up. Its actually a joke that Skully is even DLC at this point. Just throw her in the base game. Even as an skully hater, I need to admit that BHVR definitely overnerfed Adriana. Sure, she was annoying to go against, but absolutely nuking the killer into a new low tier on the tierlist is definitely NOT the way to do it. They did it to my boi Slinger, they did it to Trickester and now its Skully turn, I guess. She desperately needs a full power rework at this point imho.
This is why refunds should be a thing, and why lice serve games suck ass. They ruined her, we have to wait until late 2025 for her to be playable again. The reasons they ruined her, entitled Survivors who want to play casually, but get just as many wins as someone who puts in the time to get better and earn their wins.
Great news, I heard that these nerfs aren’t permanent, these aren’t the main Skull Merchant Reworks, this is still garbage, but I assume these changes are to make Survivors stop complaining about her for now as they work on the *actual* rework
Love you but how can you say skull merchant has nothing else than hindered? You’ve on command undetectable, free hit + deep wound on loops, haste, info… like??? Jack of all tricks don’t you think? In my honest opinion release skull merchant was much more balanced (now that kick and 3 gen perks are more balanced) than what she is right now. “a lot of people needed the hindered to play” oh I see why… but almost all the killers play without hindered + is a really sensitive debuff to put in my opinion. anything with movement speed is. it’s kinda crazy how people don’t see how many things she was using in her favour. pick one or two. please.

Skully has won't do well anymore. She can't cross map, she can't move fast, and she no anti loop power. All the survivors going to do is run to the next strong loop. She terrible now. Why behavior 😡🗑️
