They definitely did a retune for the better with the S12 Pro. They kept everything that was good about the OG S12 and got rid of the excessive pinna gain.
I have the S12 Pro and everything you said about them is true. I bought them as an upgrade to my original S12 and the Pro are better balanced with a bit of a boost in the bass and lower midrange as well as a slight reduction in that 8k peak, which on the original is skimming the surface of harshness. It’s still has a lot of energy but that whole presence region is smoother. These are my new references next to my Kiwi Ears Orchestra Lite (8BA/side). Depending on my mood, I can really enjoy the cohesiveness and cleanliness of the OL but when I want more excitement and dynamics but still crave that clarity and richness, I pop in the Pro. I hope these will continue to get better over time.
I bought the S12 pro a few weeks ago and I've been pretty happy with mine. Prior to buying the S12 pro's I bought the Audeze Maxwell headphones, which turned my attention towards Planar Magnetic drivers. I don't think I will ever buy a headset that does not have Planar Drivers. The detail and clarity is amazing. The S12 Pro's are no exception. The sound stage is wide enough where you hear the detail that really makes the overall sound dynamic.
Really happy with the S12pro. But after a few weeks the left earphone started to have some serious driver flex. It's clicking like crazy when inserting it in my ear and when inserted it keeps having the issue when I move my head. Such a shame for an IEM that I really love.
Hello, I have some S12pro, but I don't know which dac with battery to buy, they tell me that it must be greater than 300mw because they are planar, help, my budget is 120 dollars
