Ditto... And no one has given me that answer yet...its only been a year but if we couldn't manage effective communication in the 10 years prior to the child I'm on a wing and prayer when it comes to effective co parenting with our son. This type of co-parenting is very draining 😫😫😫.

What if the other parent doesn’t communicate, doesn’t respect your time , and does less than the bare minimum of helping with the child and very rarely sees the child? I’ve tried boundaries and he did it then stopped , I asked for simple things … doesn’t want to do it

How do you do parent with a parent that has been absent for 16 years? They say they have changed their life around… but hasn’t changed in all aspects of life.. he doesn’t call on a regular basis.. doesnt asked to see him on a regular basis.. I can’t depend on him.. he picks and chooses when he wants to be apart of my sons life… he keeps saying I’m living in the past but I’m living in the now and present and he still not in my sons life like he should be! I’ve begged for a couple of years now for him to be a father but has never FULLY STEPPED UP… he doesn’t need a part time father he needs a full time father! I don’t know what to do..

Communication is key when co-parenting. However, making sure that each parent knows how to communicate effectively is just as important. Everyone have different communication styles. Therefore, parents have to be understanding with each others communication style as well as be willing to improve his/her communication style. For the sake of the child/dren.

Dealing with there now being a spouse on the other side and chick has lost her mind! I was cool communicating with her about adult things, but she’s also demanding that the child call/text HER in order to get to the father and it has taken all the prayer and scripture not to go off on her!!

Wow, thought I was the only person going through this. She also demands him and I have separate birthday parties for our daughter and don’t speak on the phone more than 10 minutes and he listens to her….. I was very angry in the beginning, but I’ve learned to focus on me and my healing and our daughters well being when she’s with me. When she is with them, I pray everyday for my daughters protection and this May shock you, but I pray for my ex and that woman as well! It took me a while, but I realized, that my heart is good and I’m blessed, and they are both very miserable! As long as my daughter is safe in her presence, which I trust her father to assure, that’s all that matters to me.

Thank you for that , I’m currently pregnant also. Which makes it even worse as he left for good to be with her. She didn’t care we was married or that I’m pregnant. Yes the children mainly our son very hurt and upset that his dad with this woman and see all the things he doing with her and her children and not him as they was close and he see his dad picked her and her kids over him. Was a lot of meltdowns and moving of school due to this as he couldn’t cope. She plasters things all over social media.
