Turns out there was an issue with the scope and Leopold fixed the issue and returned it to the owner and we will be reviewing it again.. Thanks for watching!!!!
Did you ever end up reviewing this again??? YOu are the reason I bought the Cronus I believe your opinion can not be bought. Keep it up Id LOVE if you got your hands on the Leica PRS =)
I have 4 mark 5hd scopes. Have no issues with any of them. That said glass quality is subjective evidently but the mark 5hd is as good as anything ive used. I basically switched from nightforce due to some warranty issues. Love the leupold
Same here. I actually sold a nightforce at a bigger loss than I wanted because the leupold MK5 is a better scope in my opinion and I wanted all my reticles and controls to be the same.
I agree most people say the razor gen 2 is in a whole class above the mk5 but as someone that owns both I looked at an electric meter today at 100y both at max zoom and even tho the mk5 was 25x vs 27x I could definitely see more detail in the lettering and also found the mk5 was more forgiving in the eye box. I no longer have a nf but wish I did to compare at the same time
Thank you for this review. I wanted a high magnification scope in the $2,000 to $2,400 price range for my 300 Win Mag that I plan to use for extended long-range target shooting. The M5 7-35X 56MM was one of the scope I was considering. However, after seeing your evaluation, I'm no longer considering that scope.
Rethink this decision. I have 5 leupold mk5s and a few other “higher end” brands. The leupold is as good as and better than the more expensive glass. They’re also very light.
I have the leupold mark5HD 7-35x56 with the cch reticle. I don’t have any of the problems you are having with the one you got from your buddy. leupold has a lifetime warranty and they will fix it. I also have a NF atacr in 7-35x56 and the glass is close to the same in both. But the glass in the leupold is better than all my vortex’s, nikons or my Arken SH4GEN2. I hope he gets his mark5 fixed because its an excellent scope.

Direct from their website "Anyone can offer you a lifetime warranty, but guaranteeing performance takes serious dedication and craftsmanship..." It's kind of messed up to post a video with a failed optic instead of just sending it back for a repair and then making the video
@@pantherhollow5290then make a video about that. Not just act like all Leupold scopes are like that. You got a defective one and didn’t think to mention it in the video. Only a comment that most viewers don’t see.
@@ronaldraygun2639 I said in the video that Leupold was easy to deal with AND for your info the scope was faulty and they did replace it.. I was pointing out that ALL scopes have issues and this was one of them!!!
I 100% agree almost seems like he went our of the way to find a damaged one to say they are crap.. I remember when people were also saying the arken was better then high end optics..
A buddy of mine had vortex diamondback tacticle and a strike eagle did the same thing...they told him he over tightened the rings🤷♂️he has two athlon helios gen 2 now.
Mike buddy, it’s time to put on your Panther Hollow sticker on the Maven, it gives you a woody every time you look through it 😃😃 the Maven throw lever is bigger than the bolt knob of the rifle tho 🤣🤣🤣
lol... I agree.. The throw lever is big and easy to find. That makes those (IMPACT!!) calls come faster when dealing with close and far targets. I am thinking about the sticker thing??? Maybe??
Im well aware that anything that’s ever been built by mans’ hands has the potential to fail or break. But when its an optic north of 2 grand it should NOT be an issue. Especially when there’s optics on the market for less than $600 that will track on par with optics over that 2 grand threshold. Stuff by Arken and Athlon come to mind. Now typically theres a trade off in glass quality, WHICH THERE SHOULD BE TRADE OFFS. If you tell me here’s scope A and scope B, the ONLY difference is a little optical clarity and $1500, don’t be surprised when i pick the more affordable optic. With that being said, Leupold is said to have a good warranty. So kuddos to them on that. Oddly enough, a surprising amount of “top end” optics manufacturers have little to no warranties. It’s the reason why I’ll probably never own a NightForce or S&B, even if I one day have the money. I couldn’t imagine having problems with an optic only to call a company and have them tell me,”No, we build them right the first time. You’re stuck with it.” (Yes i know someone that more or less ran into this exact issue)
Dang... That sucks... I have never owned a (Not) Force.. lol.. I have shot with guys that run them and seen the issues they have.. As far as Leopold goes, They would not take the guys word that something was wrong with the scope. They called it user error.. So I emailed them the video and they agreed then to take a look at it.. The scope has now been repaired and is being sent back to us.. We will see if its fixed. This is not the first one I have seen this way... Have a good one..
So, no retest on the Leupold MK5HD which you said had an issue Leupold fixed. Where is the retest, the initial test was two years ago. Disappointing, unsubscribed.
ok.. well Leupold replaced the scope because they found something wrong!! Parallax should NOT shift off the target!!! just the background should change.. THAT was in the video.. LOL .. We now have a scope that works and that is what we needed!! Thanks for watching.
Are you selling Maven. Athlon and IOR ??? because I don't see any problem on a mk5hd unless you want to sell your stuff over it. Weird that I spoke to many people and seen alot of reviews about Leupold and no one told me to get a Cronus or a Maven over a MK5HD, No one.
well every scope brand has a bad apple once in a while!! These other scope mentioned are DIRECT comparisons that look as good or better. Compier them for your self!!
I have compared, and I cannot see your opinion be true, I clearly see distortion on all cronus gen 1 and gen 2 on outer part of the optic with much aberration. MAVEN NOT SO MUCH, however nevertheless it is there compared to the mark 5 is almost non existent! It's clear scope after scope the has been compared to. MARK 5 hands down I own the mark 5 in 5-25 and razor gen II in 4.5-27.
Lmao! This guy!... I'm waiting for the April foolsday joke! If this isn't a Biased Video, IDK what is ... There's a reason why the Mark 5 is a popular scope in PRS. And not the other 2, lol not sure your credible man.... you might want to show evedince to make these claims.
