Hey guys, ill show you how to get a level 100 Nidoking using the Max Range Trainer Glitch. If everything goes according to plan you could have a level 100 Nidoking before you even have to face Brock!
The level of the pokemon you encounter corresponds with the in battle attack value of the pokemon you fight just after you perform the long range trainer glitch. By default this value is 7, so you'd then find a level 7 nidoking afterwards. One growl reduces this by one stage, so use it 6 times, 7 - 6 = 1. The species you encounter depends on the special stat of the last thing you fought after using the long range trainer glitch. A level 4 caterpie has the right special to match you up with nidoking, other encounters will give you different results, including glitch pokemon at really high specials. After the long range trainer glitch, the game will think you're about to start a battle and that someone is walking towards you, so needs to initiate someone walking towards you to continue properly. This is why walking right in front of the guy by the sign will freeze the game. Trying to take a level 1 pokemon out of the box will freeze the game too so you'll need a space free in your party. While it's cool to be able to get these Pokemon and level them straight up to 100, I love that you can also leave out the 6 Growls and catch them at LV7, allowing those who wish to a chance to raise them naturally. This is how I've done it every single time.
if you want a lvl 2 instead of 100 (more fun) just use growl 5 times or less than 5 to get lvls 3-6. lvls 2-7 are legit, its the lvl 1 that rockets to lvl 100 in most cases.
This is wild. I wish I knew this before I got so far in the game, but I always try and beat all these trainers and I always miss out on the glitches. Super cool vid tho!
I remember once my brother was training a nidoking in the indigo plateau in silver version (the long cave that leads you to the elite four i think) and he used surf on a onix while I was watching him train (my gameboy ran out of battery so i was watching him play) then that surf beating the onix gave him multiple level ups and he was like "what's going on?" He showed me and i said "what if your game broke?" He got scared and turned the game off. By then his nidoking leveled up by 14 and when he turned his game back on it took him back to the pokemon center and he had a lvl 100 nidoking. We still don't know what happened

for those of you who get voltorb, you have to walk right above the sign like he does, if the guy stops u right in front of him u get voltorb, otherwise you get a nidoking, and for the level you need to make sure it is exaclty 6 growls or it will be level 2 instead of 1 sometimes 7 growls will yield a level 1 aswell
i instead tail whipped at catterpy 6 times then did the steps i encountered a level 7 slowbro (btw i encountered a level 5 pidgey on the route after viridian)
I’m late as heck for this but if it’s not working with the caterpies in Viridian, try doing the escape rope, then the Mt moon path event first, then look for a level 3 pidgey in the grass south of pewter (before you enter the building to viridian). Then as you would with the caterpie, use growl on it till nothing happens and kill it, then head directly into viridian, and this should spawn the lv1 nidoking
Where did you get an escape rope? Do I have to go to pewter city? Edit: You have to go to pewter city. The rest of the glitch worked a charm!!! Got him first try!
Does this work if that random guy isn’t there to take u to brocks gym? Cus I already passed that point. I did get a level 100 gengar tho lol. Didn’t learn about this truck yet tho
Ok so i know this video is old but just a warning. If you already did the trick to get the level 100 gengar (dying to the trainer in brocks gym) and try and use the escape rope again in front of the same trainer, you will no longer be able to open your start menu.
Just be like me. In the time you can get this you can Make your own and have an attachment to it. Like my nidoking, carl. Hes a level 60 nidoking and is OP as fuck and i grew him since he was a young bosnian nidoran
just got one.it was on emulator as well (openemu). The key is the 6 growls. i failed twice because i only growled 5 times and was prompted with "nothing happens" after turn 5. this gave me nidoking lvl 2 when i did the rest of the manip. I finally found a lvl 4 caterpie that let me growl 6 times. the rest of the manip gave me lvl 1 nidoking.
I'm tempted, but think I will stick with just doing the mew glitch. I used a lot of cheats on differwnt games when I was younger, and honestly just lost enjoyment in the them going op right from the start.
Nice glitch I now hav Gengar and Nidoking at lvl100 in only 40 minutes into the game. I used level 5 caterpie in order for pikachu to use growl 6 times. Because a level 4 caterpie is only able to take up to 5 growls which results to getting a level2 Nidoking.
No matter how hard I can't get it! Even with the exact steps! I always get a Level 2 Nidoking and its exp isn't glitched. And the one time I got Voltorb. I think I'm just gonna try random combinations to see if I get random Pokemon instead. Then I will do the Brock skip glitch
After 7 lvl 3 caterpies 5 lvl 5 caterpies and 4 pidgins and 5 metapods I finally got a lvl 4 caterpie kicked its a** and then I got a lvl 1 electrode that I couldn’t run from to then have it blow up
*Soft reset because of too much time, I want a low timer.* *Repeat for that reason twice more.* *Misses the menu opening twice.* *Level 1 Voltorb on the 6th try.* *Level 3 Gengar on the 7th try.*
What am I doing wrong . I'm following this exactly and all i keep getting is gengar and voltorb. Got nidoking once and ran out of balls. But he won't pop again. Done this about 20 times already
If the lvl 4 Caterpie can only be growled at 5 times, can I try again with a different lvl 4 Caterpie until I growl 6 times or do I have to start the trick over?
Nevermind I got it to work after I found the right one, but word of advice. Make sure to have a free slot in your party to get the Pokemon, if it goes to the PC and you try to get it the game will freeze. Happened to me twice already. 😥
Step 1: Escape from long range trainer Step 2: Encounter lvl 4 caterpie and use growl on it 6 times at least, then kill it. Step 3: Get dragged over to the gym by the man who walks through walls. Step 4: Go to viridian forest and get jumped by a lvl 1 nidoking
Are you being careful not to give them too much exp? You need them to gain a small amount so it works. Best thing to do is switch in all your pokemon at least once in a battle so when the exp is split up among them your lvl 1 poke gets a smaller cut because of that
