I love how similar messmer is to maliketh 1)predominantly aerial moveset 2) 3rd to last boss 3) Nearly equal power level at equal scaling 4) Squishy as hell (compared to their peers) 5)both of them a menance to their respective societies.
Maliketh is 4th to last, no? Gideon, like always, ruins the whole thing by technically being the 3rd to last. I guess Maliketh is the 3rd to last remembrance boss in the base game like Messmer is, though.
And isnt it crazy how Messmer and his soldiers appear to have the SAME armor aesthetic as Maliketh too? Black Iron and Gold Embroidery The black knights even have the same silvery color on their helms plume that matches Maliketh. His flame is also described to have weirdly spiritual properties over life and death. And considering the fact that Melina, messmers sister, also bore visions of flame, whom has a strong assosciation with destined death, fights with the moveset of the Black Knife assassins whom themselves ALSO fight like Maliketh I think all of this might point towards Maliketh being potentially a former consort of Marika. I mean think about it, Placidusax can be Elden Lord, the greater will clearly doesnt need it to be human. Miquella and Radahn are half brothers, so clearly familial relation is irrelevant. And even from an interspecies angle, this wouldnt even be Fromsofts first attempt at crossbreeding. Look at Priscilla, a crossbreed bastard child, born with abilities seen as antithetical to life itself, banished to a cold dark land where undesirables are exiled too. It was not uncommon for us as a community back in the day for us to believe she was a child of Seeth and Gwynevere.
@@sasaki999pro when the dlc first arrived I was using str fai build malikeths blade and armor The. I got the black knight helm and used it with rest of set
@@lharsaythats the neat part, unless i just suck but like hitting an ancient dragon head is really frustrating and annoying for some reason especially the dlc one
@@Jar-O-Magic You don't suck. Poise breaking a regular drake is easy but an ancient dragon? Good luck with that because they won't let you hit their heads 80% of the time.
I wasn't sure, but others in the comments said the same - this Malekith seems slower than he usually is. And I've watched many boss v boss vids. Oh well, he still demolished them
Honestly, I think it just goes to show how wildly aggressive the dlc bosses are. Maliketh was known for his crazy speed in the base game, but these new bosses just blow him out of the water in comparison, making him look relatively so much slower.
I can tell you why. His crazy mobility is mostly native to his arena due to the ability to jump on pillars and instantly disengage. In comparison, many of the arenas don't give him that, and additionally it requires a specific form of modding to allow him to do so. That in comparison with the faster DLC bosses and it becomes a bit annoying. Also smaller arenas don't help. Stuff like Romina/Dancing Beast, Ancient Dragon-Man, or Rellana don't really give him as much room as he's used to. For example, you very rarely see him use his triple/double projectile attack, due to the fact that the spacing never allows him to. But he uses it against Gaius, in his massive arena.
5:30 Excuse me?!! I have nearly 2,000 hours in this game and I have NEVER seen him follow up that downward stab with a slash. Wonder what position you need to be in to see that.
Pretty sure this malekith is bugged cause I have like 1,500 hours in this game and have also never seen him do that follow-up either. It might be because without his pillars to jump around and stuff his ai is a bit bugged out so it makes him seemingly slower and do the same combos like 5 times in a row and that jumping slash at the beginning of his fight.
Messmer fight was awesome, not gonna lie. I seriously thought Messmer would win, the way he was jumping around all over the place, missing a ton of attacks while landing his own.
i know this isnt how ai was meant to fight but damn is this so frustrating. Always using useless movements like roaring, slow moving, and ppl say DD is strong but damn his hp is so dogwater it doesnt even matter.
The mod doesn't work properly. Their health shouldn't be recovered when their max hp reduction debuff expires. Also he is slow as hell for some reason and gives much more openings than he normally does
I mean when the debuff expires it returns the max hp percentage to normal which will in result in an increase in hp. And that is what happens to us in the normal fight if I remember correctly.
@@jamesstewart2041 what do you mean? His destined death is nerfed against the dlc bosses, because they have some kind of resistance to it, same goes for black flame
Nah, Godfrey is a bad boss to use on boss vs boss fights because his 2nd phase actually nerfs him since half of his moveset are grabs which dont work on bosses
Weaker, Maliketh biggest problem is his low health, even though he is one of the last bosses in the base game, NG+7 help him this (but not much though)
Weaker. NG+7 Maliketh barely gets additional health, but he does get a bit more poise. And since most of his attacks miss by default, his damage doesn't matter much. It's Destined Death doing the damage, so the scaling doesn't matter much.
You know... on my first time through the DLC (without guidance), I beat the DLC before even defeating all the other bosses (such as Midra, Bayle, Metyr, Putrescent knight, and others) or even finding half of the the world.
It is genuinely crazy how easy Base Elden Ring bosses are now. I beat the DLC then went back to the regular playthrough and just melted Morgott. I know he isn't the hardest boss but it felt like I was fighting something so much easier.
well if you think about it maliketh isnt the tankiest boss there is so no wonder he gets killed by radahn aftet all he does lots of dmg and is agressiv as hell
The fights with 5% health remaining for the winner are essentialy random outcomes I believe, you would probably need 5 or more fights to determine who is statistically better.
Who would win, essentially the god of death, or two bros in a lion costume? well the god, but the fact it took him that much says a lot about the DLC (and would have lost without Scadutree fragments).
This might be a hot take, but I really prefer seeing Maliketh have his phase one included in the fight. It's more true to his actual boss design, and giving him phase 2 straight out the gate with his entire health pool is such a huge advantage not afforded other bosses. Imagine if we removed Malenia's phase one but doubled her health in phase 2. The comments would riot lol Edit: Also, I want to see a Maliketh with pillars and without pillars comparison video. The "Maliketh needs his pillars 😭" community is super obnoxious, but they might be right lol
Personally, I don't mind as I think he would've lost a lot more if he was handicapped to his first phase here. Only boss where it might have made a difference if maliketh started on his first phase would have been messmer and similarly if messmer started in his second, midra's first phase is literally pointless though, and radahn didn't even need his second phase. And secondly I'm not sure anyone would care if malenia started in her second phase because she wins anyway. Most bosses don't even get to her second phase because of her health regen and if they do her scarlet bloom finishes the job. Maliketh is the only boss I've seen beat her second phase confidently (DLC bosses included) because his destined death and agility counters most of what makes her difficult. Buts thats imo.
If the AI decides to dance around in the air throwing destined death, he is unstoppable. If he slow walks around and roars enough, Patches could have a shot.
Lol... I called it (almost). A month ago, when this was done for Malenia, the video was 42 mins long. Someone suggested Maliketh, and I said it will be an under 20 mins vid. And lo and behold, it's literally 20 mins long. Almost got it.
Hilarious how even with all of the sick bosses we got in the DLC, Maliketh is still my favorite boss. You can tell FS started to run out of steam with the last remembrance bosses in the base game and even then they still cooked with him
Maliketh fan when he loses: he doesn't spam his most op move with every movement opportunity he got and he so freaking slow unlike when i faught him! 😡 When Maliketh literally nuked like 90% of the roaster and only dies to PCR and Bayle
@@alloytitanium5972 exactly, the fact that they were bitch crying about dark souls 3 bosses breaking elden ring's bosses poise with every hit, but didn't do the same about maliketh when he literally poise broken rellana with golden hippopotamus in every two hits and even broke senessax's poise in the end is just buffling to say the least
Against a dlc bosses I'm fine with you starting him of with a full health second phase, but against an old enemies and bosses please start him of with a first phase just give him a cutscene that's all, also I find it very suspicious on how much poise damage maliketh does in this video and I doubt that scadutree blessings would buff him this much, because I've never seen maliketh break so much poise before
@@Kokniusif your talking about this channel's video about scadutree blessings malenia then the only reason he's beaten malenia it's because she was nerfed by not having her first scarlet aeonia, because if she would have it then she would have won every fight and where have you ever seen ng+7 malenia losing to promised consort?
Lore accurate Radahn is afraid of Maliketh, none of the demigods are thrilled about challenging him because of his ability to deliver true Death to all of them if they decide to defy the Golden Order, as decreed by Marika the Eternal. His armor set says as much, he is the Grim Reaper of Elden Ring, if it wasn't for the sake of gameplay, players would realistically only have one shot at defeating Maliketh, because they will stay dead if he wins.
@@tsu_nani2380 Lol that means nothing, Ranni had to steal a piece of the rune because she couldn't fight him, and Rykard was gonna TRY to beat him but we all know how that turned out. Rykard has a lot of ambitions, but we crush it, so to speak his ambitions do not guarantee his success. If he didn't get his arse whooped by the player, he would have gotten it from Maliketh.
@@ultimatevtgb7551 To be fair, I think the reason our character gets multiple shots at Maliketh is because we fight him in Farum Azula, a place where time can be reversed by laying down so we can fight the Dragonlord. If time can be reversed, so can death right?
Doggo needs to be buffed, after making the force of nature that is messmer and the monstrosity that is PCR Fromsoft don't even have the mandatory boss excuse anymore :the funny part is he would still be the easiest endgame boss even with increased stats, because of his clumsy moveset and -non existent- "accurate" hitboxes.
He's only semi-humanoid form. FromSoft is biased towards their "precious" humanoid bosses. The larger bosses don't have the poise they should have. Rykard is an extreme example, he gets stance broken way too easily for such a large creature. Romina? Late game mandatory boss, not enough HP and not quite the offensive output she should have. Placidusax? Give him that useless AOE that does like half or less of the damage it should. He gets butchered until it finally goes off. I could go on and on........
@@jah-nx9tc No that is clearly overtuned. But a maliketh with similar stats to godfrey (around 20k hp 2nd phase after a 5k first phase, 120 poise) ai that doesn't truncate his combos once you get to his torso (which makes zero sense- other bosses get _more_ aggressive if you get into their blind spots) and him actually taking advantage of his reach and attacking from a longer distance instead of bumrushing the player and missing his attacks (this alone proves that fromsoft don't playtest at all - all it would take is a slight tweak to some distance parameters), and reducing cooldown on all his attacks (malenia's waterfowl has a cooldown of 20 seconds, malikeths double flip has a cooldown of 35 seconds and both his aerial triple attacks have a cooldown of 45 seconds . Fromsoft genuinely thought his double flip and aerial combos are more difficult than waterfowl, I- 🤣 )
@@helljoe3870Pure fax my man. The fact that he does his awesome triple somersault slash if you're far away from him when he does the underhand sweep, but turns it into a slow overhand strike that always misses when you're close to him is just baffling. Shouldn't it be the other way around? Him using the triple slash to catch targets close to him, but the heavy one if they're far away? 80% Of his moveset is so useless.
People talking about no pillars for Maliketh to jump on but forget that he's auto phase 2 where DD is especially effective against bosses. Although it was hilarious for phase 1 PC Radahn to curb stomp him into the ground.
>Wields a blade embedded with the very concept of death >Name is synonymous with Death of the Demigods >Marika's own personal executioner >Single biggest threat to Ranni's plan for world domination Almost gets bodied by two naked dudes dressed as a paper mache lion.
After looking at your account, it perfectly explains why you are so upset at maliketh. Esp considering that he shreds PCR in nearly every single other max blessing/ equal scaling figth on youtube.
@jah-nx9tc nice cope. Maliketh need 20 scadutrees, ng+7 and equalized scaling to beat default game Radahn, lol. Here's bunch of videos like "boss vs 3 other bosse". How do you think what happened when Radahn fought 3 Malikets? Won in 1st phase. 5? Still won. Radahn stomps any boss beside strongest furnace golem
