If Megas in both Great & Ultra League would be useless since those tiers have CP caps while Master is limitless. Your Venusaur after mega evolving wouldn't eligible for Great League anymore because of the major CP increase. Not to mention if Megas were allowed in the lower Leagues, you would have to mega evolve an extremely low level Venusaur just to remain under CP1500 cap and that Venusaur would have awful Stamina/HP that it would get smacked in just a few hits. It would have the same ATK & DEF as your current Venusaur but this Mega would have a lackluster HP.

IV spread: 0/14/11 Stats: ATK 121 - DEF 124 - STA 123 CP 1498 - Lv21 If you were to Mega Evolve this particular Venusaur, it's CP will jump from 1498 to 2064 with obviously better stats: ATK 147 - DEF 159 - STA 123. Too bad for the Great League CP Limit So let usapply the best IV spread and level regarding the new buffed base stats IV spread: 1/15/15 Stats: ATK 125 - DEF 135 - STA 106 CP 1498 - Lv15 The difference in ATK & DEF is miniscule in comparison to the drop in STA. This Mega Venusaur would just barely hit harder than the Lv21 Venusaur but takes hits worse and would be knocked out faster by comparison. This same situation applies to Ultra League as well. Master League is where Megas can unleash their full potential even Master Classic and Master Premier where you have a Lv40 Limit but still no CP Limit.
Just stuck to playing Great League with all my sets for Go Battle Day... And man, even down there, it was a fun day. A lot of people, using a lot of spice Picks. Loved it! I was even okay with the losses I took, just because of all the spice. Getting beat by a Dunsparce, is okay with me haha
It was also fun having a Talonflame with an energy lead on Lapras safe switch... Once I threw a flame charge to boost my damage, then rocking Lapras’s world with a Brave Bird lol. Loved that too.

I played Mega Gary and played something like 17 Mega Venu teams and only lost twice, from comments at reddit it looks many trainers with Mega Gyarados had winning records against Venu teams.
That is the tough thing, it can struggle vs some common pairings with mega gyarados. So in the wrong alignment it would definitely be tough. Aligned with the mega gyarados, however, fairly comfy for the venu :)
@@HomeSliceHenry Apart from one loss the only times Venu was briefly in alignment with mega Gary for me I had farmed down the preceding mon and KOd Venu with Crunch. If you get locked into it however on a fairly even energy footing it's definitely lights out for Gary. Appreciated the video though, I might have run Gyarados, but we all love seeing the meta baddie get it's just desserts.
I loved the mega master league. Chesnaut had a blast on the lead with Zard Y and Metagross. Decent paired with mega Gyarados and Metagross as well. Hope to do mega battle more I. GBL soon.
I used Mega Gyarados and luckily I never faced off against a Mega Venusaur, Mega Manectric or Mega Ampharos. I did matched with a Mega Altaria with Moonblast but I had my Metagross to deal with that, so my MG was kept safe for that match. Did face many Mega Latias, Mega Gengar and other Mega Gyarados though
Gyarados is still very oppressive with dragon breath so it could beat electric types I think (especially against Ampharos cause it's now a dragon). And it lost its flying type so it's not even double weak anymore. You'd probably be alright facing agains those, it's pretty much only Venusaur and Altaria that wall it
Wow, I faced a ton of Mega Venu (I think around 17 matches). One each of Ampharos and Manectric, but won those despite having mega Gary, felt like they just didn't have what it takes for non-Mega Gary mons in the meta.
@@Johanoist once Mega Gardevoir and the others become available, Mega Gyarados will lose it's standing. Being Dark-type will really hinder it thanks Gardevoir, Gallade, Pinsir, Scizor, Heracross and Mewtwo X. Mega Audino despite being Fairy I doubt would pose a threat and Mega Sceptile being Dragon would be manageable however Bullet Seed + Frenzy Plant/Leaf Blade will pose a significant problem especially if opponent still has both shields.

Well, i love u and ur job henry, so this comment has absolutely nothing to do with u. (ye its gonna be negative one). what disturbs me ,is that MOST opponents used lvl 40 mon, while our protagonists strictly lvl 50 only. Im pointing this out bcs i am also a player without lvl 50 mons , and played that day. used lvl 40 snorlax and moltres, and my one and only lvl 50 mega gyarados. however competing against 4.5kc p dialgas, 3,7cp togekisses and many more, made my wins SO HARD EARNED. so , as salty as it might sound,I am completely unimpresssed by the featured players. might as well play against 500 cp mons in the 1500 league ^^ Ps: keep up the good content Henry! just point out those wins are super easy since lvl 40 mons have almost no chance vs lvl 50 ones. :D or feature more balanced battles if u had any of those submitted (lvl 50mons on the opponents as well, or lvl 40 mons on the featured trainers as well)

@@ducestat06savage99 If those Pokemon weren't being used a lot to counter Mega Gyarados' counters, then Mega Pidgeot would've actually been a smart choice.
Sadly this just shows the same problem megas had in VGC. Several of them are just so busted good that using a different one puts you at a huge disadvantage because it means you can’t use one of the best ones.
@@HomeSliceHenry I’m happy for them to be included in Master League, but I really don’t want to see them in Great or Ultra. Those metas already have a ton of options without mega pokemon, whereas Masters is mostly stagnant.
zarude is decent, just hard to get to lvl 50 as it is now, and u can actually do some work with roseraed. but yeah, other than that those types are almost non existent at this league
I played one with my Mega Gary team, but they couldn't get alignment and both my other two mons have good matchups with Mega Alt. Was surprised not to see a few more honestly.
