More than 12 years later, I still can't get over the fact that this boss was named after some real dude whose actual name is still the most fitting name to describe this entity.
I feel like his name was like kurtis zambler (and I should stress the fact that I don’t know for certain what it is) and they moved the “is” from the end of his first name into his last name
honestly the canon implications of sora and friends flying into the desert, spotting this guy, just absolutely ripping him to shreds and then flying away are so... beautiful
It doesn't appear to have been intentional; they were caged in my a magic barrier and they fell off when carpet tried to make a sharp turn to avoid said barrier.

@De'vante Warner It would make sense if it was... but his voice actor already had a depper voice at the time of Re:Chain realese, so Yeah it was weird seing Sora with the same KH1 model but with a deep voice.😆
Can you imagine being the guy they named this boss after? I mean when you enter into some contest to get your name in KH you don't expect them to name arguably the toughest boss after you.
@@Thisisthegreatestatofalltime maybe it’s just me cuz I know sephiroth like the back of my hand but unknown is much harder then both. Still the only optional boss that I have had to use tink to beat.
@@skylerbehunin7777 I only think Kurt is hard cause of that bs spin move other than that he’s a joke, whereas Sephiroth in the FM version of the game seems to randomly do a flame pillar sometimes after you finish a combo making him cancer at lower levels.
Yeah, the old Mushu technique's a pretty solid way of dealing with the floating barrier. Those damn spinning attacks always gave me the most trouble, though. Congrats on beating Kurt with those handicaps. Looking forwards to the Phantom fight.
@@nepgear5788 ah right; I chose sword, gave up shield, and chose the early-game EXP boost option. (dawn) I think dawn is objectively the best choice, since even though your EXP gain slows down to around 25% after level 50, your grinding options are much better than early game, where you get a 30% exp boost

@@EmKunWeebGaming if you set his preferences right in the menu then holy poop. Donald saved my ass like a million times it is stupid and kh2 Donald is a tad bit worse i still think he is helpful with his magic and what not.
This super boss is why I know pain from KH1 I got spanked the first time accidentally, thought it was a fluke Tried again on purpose and got slapped Tried again and only began a journey of internal agony at the realization I’m probably just too weak for this asshole All because I wanted to be curious and ride a carpet to nowhere but death Good times
6:53 Would have been unfortunate if you got hit by another fireball haha. Still, pretty good time with those restrictions. Probably would have gone on longer if you didn't use accessories and the kingdom key, but then you'd be drained of both fun and sanity.

Dumbo is also of good use in this boss for getting rid of the magic barrier. I usually do Mushu, then Dumbo. If there ends up being a third, I use Genie. Usually 2 is enough though.
This was my favourite boss introduction in KHFM. It had no buildup, and just jumped out of nowhere! It was also a pretty interesting boss fight, just not fun to fight.
its actually one of the worse keyblades especially in the final mix version; i just chose it because I got tired of getting dicked on during the magic-locked phases and it's length is super helpful

This was the only super boss in the first game I came close to beating I died after making a mistake and did not feel like doing I again after an hour of trying
it's possible since 1.5 added the zero exp ability which disables EXP gain; it also has a pseudo-second Chance propertie and a damage storing bug where you can do a finisher on a boss and then every magic spell or summon you do will have finisher-type damage, making mushu a one-shotting monster
