Thanks so much Terry and Brian. Appreciate your video's and working your equipment i learn a lot with these types of video's. I was wanting a new tractor but i think first I'll try talking the wife into a new box scraper you guys make this look pretty easy

Thanks for the kind words! Glad the videos help. We are no experts and we make mistakes but we learn from them and move on. That box blade is awesome and does a lot of work. The B2650 does far more than we expected. Very happy we bought it. Terry

Thanks Timothy!! Glad someone is getting use of our videos! We love the Kubota and that EA box scrape!! Keep watching there will be plenty more videos coming on the tractor and what we do with it and the new implements we buy. We are already coming up with modifications we plan to do to the tractor. I am an engineer among other things. Always trying to make something better, lol Terry

Good job! Perfect video for my spring project. 1.5 acre meadow, currently the septic and the driveway installation wrecked it. But now i have a good idea on how to fix it, without causing to much issues.

Thanks! We worked until about 8 pm last night because it was supposed to rain today through Wednesday. Was hoping for a good soaking rain. Now it looks like we may get no rain at all. You just can not predict mother nature. She's going to do what she wants to do. Terry

Dear Brian, Amazing what a box blade can do & seems to do it so well & easy. I've got one bone to pick with you; surely you could have let honourable father deflower the machine first before you did. I know it's a lot of fun to be on a tractor but come on, be a good sport. Can't wait to see you seed the place up with your lawn mower. Great stuff yet again. Kind regards.

Hello! Haha maybe I should have let him break it in. In my defense though, he did get to do 95% of the work with the skid steer. I'll let him break in the next big toy we get. Thanks for the comment! Have a good evening!

Same here, I'm 71 yrs old and grew up with little. I could not get a job after high school, no one wanted to spend time training you because of the draft and the Vietnam war. I didn't get my first car till I got out of the Army in 1968. I'm waiting for the same incentives you got on the Kubota. Did you even think about buying the backhoe attachment?
@ForestToFarm
@ForestToFarm 6 лет назад
Yes we thought about a backhoe. However we have some huge trees that need a larger more powerful machine so we figured we would just rent the mini excavator every so often and do all the heavy work with it. That saves the Kubota. I hate to over work it. It would do fine on small to medium stumps but they are easy with the mini excavator so we just wait till we rent one. Some day we will likely get a backhoe but for now its on hold. We have a lot of cash flowing into this project. That box blade is amazing and really does a great job! Terry

I have three suggestions for you, One get a heavy hitch quick connect for your three point hitch, Two put a hydraulic cylinder for your top three point connection,Three get a 6 foot or 7 foot landscape rake for your tractor, that will raked up the debris and leave your dirt on the ground instead of dragging around like you do with the box blade. Good video and a lot of contact.

I have a tractor and a box blade I use for my gravel driveway. My "lawn" is so uneven I get tossed off my mower! I would love to use the box blade to level the yard. When you did this work did you start with the teeth down and the move them up to smooth or leave them up the entire time? Also, any tip you discovered would be greatly appreciated. Your ground came out as smooth as a putting green, that is what I need to cut the grass quickly
@ForestToFarm
@ForestToFarm 4 года назад
Hey Douglas. First let me tell you we are not experts on the subject but we do learn pretty fast. Its tough to answer. A lot depends on the soil you have. If its hard and dry it will probably take a more aggressive approach as in setting the teeth down deeper. If your soil is more organic fertile soil that is loose then I would start out just gently scraping the surface to see how things go. Then if you are not getting the results you want you can always go deeper. If you go to deep to start off and the soil is soft as you go up and down on the uneven surface you may cause more holes than you already have. If you have a lot of high spots it might be good to just hit them first and attempt to drag the soil into the surrounding holes. Also make passes in one direction than change direction and go over it again and continue changing directions if possible. I think that tends to help even things out better as opposed to just running in one direction continuously. Gotta get some work done! Good luck, Terry

Does the bucket level indicator come standard on all b2650s?
@ForestToFarm
@ForestToFarm 6 лет назад
Pretty sure it does. We actually never use it. If you are on a parking lot or flat location then its level with the ground but in a field and on our land its so up and down that level with the tractor may be far from level with the land or actual level with the earth.
@dmaifred
@dmaifred 5 лет назад
Is it a level or the rods that once set stop the bucket from tipping towards the tractor when having a load up high. Took me a while to figure it out and set it on my 2601. Was told it was auto levelling the bucket but it’s not it’s for safety.
@cantonracer1
@cantonracer1 5 лет назад

@@dmaifred Ours will not stop the bucket from dumping on you. It only tells you that the bucket is level with the tractor itself. I once flipped a load of wood chips onto myself in a skid steer, LOL! Had to dig myself out ha ha. A person can over confident and that can be dangerous. Terry

What type of seed yall plan on putting down there?
@ForestToFarm
@ForestToFarm 6 лет назад
We bought seed for last fall. Then work got so busy and we had a lot of rain so it never got planted. We decided to plant it now even though it may not last the summer. We just want roots in the ground now for soil retention and building healthy soil. We put down Winter Wheat, Austrian winter peas, Rye and Crimson Clover. We are so busy with trying to get our homes going that the land is on hold. Once we are living there things will ramp up and land health will be priority one from then on. Healthy soil will make everything else we are doing healthy. Thanks for the comment! Terry
@ForestToFarm
@ForestToFarm 6 лет назад
Also I have some vegetable seeds from around 2008. I never throw any seeds away. So we are going to plant some of them randomly around this field and see what survives and possibly thrives in that condition. Kind of a companion experiment. Terry

How wide is tha box blade?
@ForestToFarm
@ForestToFarm 4 года назад
60" Does a great job. The B2650 can handle it. It only has 4 scarifiers on it. Some have 5 and that might be a bit much but not sure. Terry

@Raymo853inLeDroit 3 года назад
Is you box blade a 54 or 60?
@ForestToFarm
@ForestToFarm 3 года назад
We went with the 60". It covers the width of our rear stock tires and then a little bit more. It only has 4 cutters so that makes it less aggressive and it works great on our tractor. We have hard red clay and this baby cuts it like butter. We could not be happier with it. Terry

It does does look pretty flat in the video. It's a pretty steady slope that had a couple of decent drop offs and stump holes that had settled. We wanted to smooth things out and make it where we could mow it/maintain it without feeling like we were off-roading haha.
