See that determination on his face? Never broke out a smile, until the race was over, and he won. Sure hard work is a must, but champions are born that way.
At just 7 years old, that concentration is smth else.. It's really amazing that Anthony Hamilton saw the potential and worked hard to give Lewis an opportunity to be racer. Boy oh boy did Lewis make him proud. Strongest father/son duo the sport has seen..
Slightly off topic, but back in 1976 I was at Warwick uni and getting beaten by Mansell in 210 karts at Little Rissington and Shennington. Lewis was minus 8 at that point.
@Janardan S He was very good and won a lot, but no better than another guy around at the time called Mark Allen. The difference was that Nigel had the gift of the gab and a huge amount of drive and ambition. Mark ran a small karting business and never went any further. If you’re interested there is a bit about them on their website. Yes, it is nice to be able to say I have raced against an F1 champion! www.jadekarts.co.uk/History
I love watching the little Lewis winning that race. Honestly who would have thought that one day he would become the greatest F1 driver of all time with over 100 wins and poles and 7 championships. Incredible👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Crazy! He’s been racing cars his whole life. Really happy for people who discover their passion so early in life while the rest of are almost 40 and still figuring things out 😂😂😂
@@mick8473 neither did any of them in that dangerous era! All we’ve got to go on with Lewis are his remarkable achievements and records which may never be equaled. Jim Clark was undoubtedly the finest driver of his era, like Lewis is the best of this one, but you have to give it to Lewis simply because of his incredible achievements + his longativity in F1👍🏻
@@happyguy5414 Fangio won 11% more of his races. You can't penalise Fangio because he started late. You can't penalise Clark and Senna getting killed at their peak. With Lewis he had a top car for 6 seasons and the best engine but only got one title and finished low down in 4ths an 5th in the championship. Prost and Alonso finished runners up in worse cars.
@@mick8473 I think you’re referring to the McLaren from 2007 - 13 which was only any good in 2007-08, but was a terrible and uncompetitive car thereafter. Lewis would have won the championship in 2007, only for the FIA’s interference. He beat his No 1 teammate Alonso who was already a twice WDC which was a fantastic achievement. In fifteen seasons of racing he won 103 races, 103 poles, 59 fastest laps, fastest lap ever recorded, won races in every season, won his home and Hungarian GP’s 8 times, won at every circuit he’s ever raced at more than once, won 7 WDC’s and finished second 3 times and as you well know only for Masi’s ridiculous decision making last season he would have won that championship as well! Fangio, Clark and Senna were also brilliant champions of their days as were many other champions inc Mike Hawthorn, Graham Hill, Jacki Stewart, Sebastian Vettel and of course the great Michael Schumacher to name, but a few, but Sir Lewis Hamilton holds all the records which can never be taken away, but may be equaled or beaten in the future, but until then, Lewis’s achievement’s in a rich man’s sport from his humble beginnings are sensational!
Despite all the hate he gets, no one can deny he is one of a kind talent...we all witnessing greatness here and im thankfull i lived in the time of Lewis Hamilton the most succesfull F1 driver of all time.
@@ignacioquindoslanderas531 Nah, Mercedes turned the engine up now. Lewis will only lose the championship if reliability becomes an issue now that they will be pushing the limits of the power unit.
The dedication, focus and the intelligence.. You can just see on that guy, he is going to de something outstanding.. It does not matter if he plays the violin, does law studies or drive a race car. Whatever he chooses, he will be a virtuoso..
Reminds me of Sachin Tendulkar Interview when he was in his teens. Champions have one thing in common: They are focused on their craft and not glamor & glitter. They know it would come to them one day, if they are dedicated and disciplined 🙏🏻
@@josielsondesouza Abu Dhabi was pure karma for Silverstone. Add in Hungary, Baku and Imola and everyone knows nothing was stolen. 2021 got its deserved champion.
Same for me, ignited the passion, hadn't watched it in years, then heard that a young British rookie had come second in his first ever race!?... Well how could you not realise that we were in for something magical, and the boy surely did produce. Anybody that thinks he only wins because of the car needs to watch this Vid,.... Enough said! 😉😊
He gets so much hate from people , and Iv known about him since he was young he’s not much younger than me , but it’s strange as I still can picture him as this young kid quite shy and small , and I watch him now on tv having achieved all he has and it’s makes me proud 🥲
Wow!i can't believe it.This goes to show that he has a natural talent in mototsports unlike what people say that it's his car that's fast.i even saw a clip of him racing rosberg, kubica and the rest in a go kart as a teenager and he won.congratulations lh44 on your 4th world title.i hope he goes all the way to break all the records even Michael Schumacher's of seven titles.the sky is the limit.
This guy bet that he'd be world champion before he's 25 when he saw him racing karts at 13. The talent was obvious even then. www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/motorsport/formulaone/lewishamilton/3372313/Lewis-Hamilton-fan-wins-165000-with-1998-bets.html
Most of us have lived in a time with Schumacher and Lewis .. Fangio put 5 times on board and that stayed for 5 decades... Schumi beats it and within a decade, Lewis has equalled it.... We have really lived among greats eclipsing greats...
The fact that he is very talented has nothing to do with the fact that without the best car, he wouldn't have been able to win 7 championships. Nobody say he's not talented, or people who say it are just haters.
I first saw this clip years ago and still remember how pumped Lewis was to win, even though it was just a race around the Blue Peter garden. But watching again today I now also notice the massive margin he won by, some things never change, lol, what a champ!
@@nonamefound9296 Lewis is 6th in the championship with many podiums thanks to Ferrari DNFs. He can't compete unless he has a car 1 seconds faster than all others, or others get DNF's
@@mick8473 yeah and the leader has the lead because of Ferrari's strategists lol. You can talk nonsense all you want buddy, history will remember this legend anyways
@MrLewisBate He’s matured. Talks more sense than Mr Vercrashten. Has a heart. Accepts responsibility for his actions, when it’s wrong. Always thanks the fans (it takes 4sec, but he’s the only one that does), the team & individuals. Valteri has the same car and isn’t close, which proves his capabilities. You can’t deny the records he’s smashed & he doesn’t give a 🤬 what anyone thinks of his lack of dress code (let’s face it, it’s bad…), (REALLY BAD!). Oh… and I bought a Mercedes. So that kinda helps. 🤔
Lewis has won hundreds and thousands of races since his birth but also has won million and billions of people's hearts in his life till now. May Lewis live long. Love from India.
Young Lewis Hamilton proving what an amazing future he had ahead of him, truly amazing to watch this footage and see when the legend is today, this is proof hard work and raw talent can really achieve the stuff of dreams
@@TAKTAK_Toys if you don't call attending private schools, getting expensive RC cars when you're seven years old and your family having enough money to fund a go-karting hobby a silver spoon then I don't know what is? Do you even know how expensive just the tires for racing go-karts are? Hamilton is undoubtedly very talented at what he does, but there's a reason why almost every F1 driver is from a rich family (Aryton Senna comes to mind too). In fact Schumacher stands out as an exception (and his dad had to work a second job to fund Michael's karting). I just don't buy the 'rags to riches' story that many of his fans want to weave. Especially as he doesn't seem to like to pay tax to help those in rags.
@@Gilberto90 fair enough your entitled to your opinion, are you saying then that Anthony Hamilton working two jobs to pay for Lewis Hamilton is somewhat different to what you mentioned with Schumacher? Interested to hear your take on it, cheers pal 👍
This Lewis kid could sure as hell make something out of himself if he keeps his determination and focus on point as seen in this video. Mark my words!!
I used to race RC too. Little colored kid , the only one at the track. I Was pretty good at it. Trophies and all. I feel like I'm living vicariously through Lewis. He's doing what I shoulda coulda woulda done, and doing it very well
The steely determination, iron grit and sheer force of will are what made him what he is today. His ability to shut out the noise and use his razor sharp focus and drive to do better than himself gave him the motivation to shut the racists and haters up, while many falter and cry mental health he took the blows and got even better. Those who hate him are those wish they had half his mental strength, passion and work ethic and dispite their privilege, money and opportunities to be great they were ultimately bettered by someone who had every conceivable odd stacked against him
