@@davidcoultmedium4339 To be fair, he won 3 races due to the fact that either Mercedes duo got unit failures on Canada, crashed into each other in Belgium and he got a lucky safety car in Hungary
Yeah but the move that he lifts off cost him the overtake on the straight because with that lift he couldnt reach enough power on the straight to overtake Hamilton
Seb had the momentum, but as soon as the Ferrari went off the slipstream, the air itself was already slowing down the Ferrari considerably to about 319kph while the Mercedes was still increasing up to 325kph. Both geniuses. They only lifted for a fraction of a second as well.
@@djacircarvalho8251 Not in 2018... Seb was off that season. Ferrari in 2018 was as close to Mercedes as it could ever be and in quite a lot of tracks was the better car even if they went down after Monza in performance. If Seb was at his form in 2017 he would've ran away with the title in 2018... 2017 Vettel was Red Bull days Vettel
Look at the top speed of the Mercedes in 2017, the Ferrari side by side with it and the Mercedes started pulling away after Ferrari's top speed was reached. Same scenario in 2018 except this time Ferrari had the same top speed as the Mercedes because neither was losing or gaining. (I know Ferrari gained from slipstream in front but after moving on clean air there was no losing or gaining from both cars)
2017 SPA was wild. Two of the most sucsessful drivers in F1 history drinving at the front in their own league. Think they were over a second faster than Ricciardo? :D
Vettel is always faster in the eau rouge. He picks up eau rouge entry and exit lines brilliantly. Same thing in his red bull also,in 2017 he could do it to hamilton but his car was more focused on aero than speed,so he lagged behind.
@@michaeltrumph121 to be fair, Vettel lost out in Germany 2018 because there was a footage of a part where the front left wing broke before the lap he crashed, so it was a technical failure. And Ferrari strategies are really trashy tbh, so even tho they had a good car, Mercedes was more likely to win than ferrari
2017: Ferrari Can't Overtake Mercedes 2018: Ferrari Overtakes Mercedes 2019: Ferrari Flies Past Mercedes 2020: Ferrari Fighting to pass Williams 2021: Ferrari Fighting to pass a boat 2022: (...)
its insane how much slipstream effects these cars. once Vettel gets around Hamilton, Hamilton switches to the left side of vettel. you can hear Hamiltons RPMs pick up considerably in the short time he was directly behind vettel
Have no idea how Vettel led the championship in 2017 for as long as he did in that car. Unable to outdrag the Mercedes despite pulling out of an insane slipstream
I hope Vettel and the other drivers keep this spirit inside them at the new season, I’m sure If they hold it with the new version of Ferrari they can beat Mercedes & RedBull.
When people say that Ferrari had the car in 2017 for the Championship Title, I advise them to look at 1:15 footage Vettel dragged an inferior car, easily second best (at best) to a championship challenge, although finished prematurely due to numerous Ferrari mistakes.
According to your logic, in 13 and 18 this game was unsuccessful? What nonsense? This is a common straight line overtaking attempt. There are no errors there. The only mistake is the Ferrari engine.
@@therettracer or the gearbox. the Mercedes was still climbing really slowly up to 324 but the Ferrari stayed between 319 and 321 on the speedo. seems like it just topped out at max revs in 8th gear
