I decided to toss my hat into the ring of bizarre 1-hour long RU-vid videos. This is an interior shot of Lewis's Manchester department store taken from the 1992 Cosgrove Hall animation Truckers. I tried my best to seamlessly loop it and unfortunately the original sound was too short and obviously looped so I replaced it with a modern recording of an escalator. There is basically no need for this video to exist, but then that's the case for 90% of RU-vid's content for definite!

My grandmother worked at Lewis's she was the manageress of the ladies clothing department. I remember being 7yrs old and going up the escalator

This kind of comment is why I made this video. I know that someone, somewhere would appreciate such an obscure upload. In the programme Truckers, there are other interior shots of Lewis's but they are shaky and would need slowed down to appreciate them because it's supposed to be from the point of view of the Nomes in the programme.

Cool I went up and down these a few times when the lift was full from the staff canteen on the top floor..Even in the early ninetys they had a few lift control guys (bell boys)...Good Times..I have quite a few shots of Lewis's exterior as I worked on the door ,sign,and canapoy maintenance ,I was a keen photographer..

Lewis's was features a lot in the Cosgrove Hall stop motion animation truckers - there are several other interior shots that come on screen very briefly. The quality, angle and colour palette of the film used for these shots is so specifically nostalgic and 90’s. I instantly thought “this looks just like Truckers” before realising it was you who uploaded this 😂

Ha! Yes all of the live action shots have that particular film grain - Joe Dembinski is contactable on Facebook who did a lot of the live action shots. There are a few cool little interior shots that if you look at the individual frames remind me so much of places like Woolworths in the 90s. I'll maybe try and use Topaz Image Enhance to upscale some of them.

@@MartinHannett_ I wonder if it’s worth starting a new Reddit community dedicated to Truckers. Would be great to have a place outside of Facebook to consolidate all this awesome content. Sounds like you could get hold of some really interesting stuff from the contacts you’ve made with ex staff etc... I’d love to know what sort of behind the scenes stuff is out there that I’ve not seen. I wonder if some interviews with people who worked on it could be arranged.
